Avatar f tn Would like to know if there is any massage techniques or pressure points to help relax my 15 month old. He is often moody and uptight,(lol) but honestly doesn't sleep well consistently and wld like to try anything.
Avatar f tn No I meant the opposite. Im sorry....not the needles just having the person push on ur pressure points like back of ur ankles or whatever....like massaging them.
Avatar f tn Also, try pregnancy massage. Same deal make sure they had special training because certain pressure points can put you in early labor.
Avatar f tn No I went to massage school it can't. There r pregnancy massages so u should make sure the person is trained in that. U can go into labor with reflexology... That's work on pressure points on ur feet that coorespond with your organs and body. So don't have any work on ur feet lol but.a massage is fine.
Avatar f tn Yes just tell them you're pregnant they will avoid certain pressure points it's called a prenatal.
Avatar f tn Hi and welcome - I'd like to reiterate what Sandy said, PT does help as does massage therapy for me. You can google "Migraine Physical Therapy" and will find youtube videos that show you exercises to do, I tend to move in clusters with my headaches but I have many less now than I did. I have a really good massage therapist who is also going to school for PT, she does TMJ massage for me and it is so helpful to my headaches.
Avatar f tn Make sure they know what they are doing because you have pressure points that can send you into labor but ive had about 3 and the last one i had was the best(:
10373417 tn?1412647096 Yeah, like she said, make sure they know you're Prego, because there are pressure points they'll avoid. They don't want to send you into early labor.
Avatar f tn You of course have to have a prenatal massage but all that means is for them to avoid certain pressure points. She probably wasn't experienced.
Avatar m tn Trigger points are the worst. I found someone that was a medical massage therapist. It was almost life changing. Chronic issues that I had got much better. The massage wasn't your typical 'feel good' massage and in fact didn't feel all that great during the time. But they would release the trigger point if that makes sense. I haven't been able to afford one for a while now and miss it greatly.
230972 tn?1224470126 Thanks! I thought it was pretty funny to think of. Froggy~ Sometimes nipple stimulation can cause your uterus to contract which can help start labor. But if your early on in pregnancy dont worry about it. cause it's all part of the fun of having sex! I don't think it would bring on labor unless your body was ready for labor and you were having other signs of it. if you are far enough to have the baby safely, then you can always try getting a foot massage.
Avatar f tn Have your husband give you a back massage and a foot massage and anywhere that has pressure points and just relax.
Avatar f tn Pressure points if your constipated, pressure points for headaches, plus more, when your farther along, they're are certain pressure points to bring on labor. I love massages!!!!
741741 tn?1294284010 They usually won't give a massage until you are further along in your pregnancy. There are certain pressure points that can bring on labor. Call up a spa and let them know how far along you are and see if they will do it but I don't think they do it at 12 weeks.
11208968 tn?1418548696 My midwife told me there was certain pressure points and to massage them to kick start labour but it didn't work for me but then I probably wasn't doing it right, could work if you maybe get a professional to do it?
Avatar f tn Go get a pedicure, there are a allot of pressure points around your feet and ankles to help. You can also Google those pressure points.
398532 tn?1231463960 t know how true that is....or better yet where those pressure points are?? If I were to go to someone for a massage I would make sure they are certified/have training to massage pregnant women. How far along are you? I'll be 32 weeks on Wed. I can't believe it!
Avatar f tn As long as the salon has good sanitary practices and fairly well ventilated they are perfectly safe...i've gotten them throughout this pregnancy and the last (including the massage) and have not had any problems...
9525685 tn?1410800512 But someone who is not licensed in prenatal massages could hit the wrong nerves and pressure points, inducing labor. So when you schedule, make sure they give you someone who specializes in prenatal massages :) it's actually very good to get them.
Avatar f tn ) Think of ways to relax your mind and body. I also had years of anxiety and panic attacks and have been diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder and did these things for a long time (it took two years for me to feel "normal: again) but it helped and I took very few meds so try it and see.
Avatar f tn These are known as 'trigger points'. I have the same sensations at points on my hips and my neck. When any pressure is applied it feels like a surge of electricity goes through me...and it's quite painful. We don't know why those with FMS have trigger points. It sounds like what you are experiencing is referred pain. When pressure applied to one area, effects another area on the body.
Avatar f tn The feet and ankles have pressure points that can trigger labor when massaged
1060036 tn?1259188076 When i try to focus the pressure gets worse at some points, and i only get it when going to class, or driving, when im fairly relaxed i don't feel it as much. how can i get it to go away, are there pressure points, or relaxation techniques or something? Also can this be associated with my anxiety since it started when it did? By the way, the pressure is in my nose, forehead, and sometimes the the top of my head.
Avatar f tn I've heard foot massages can help open your cervix because of pressure points (may or may not be true) but this far into your pregnancy it could be a good thing! If not its relaxing to be pampered and have pretty toes!
1184961 tn?1292574076 I have spinal stenosis & previously had lumbar laminectomy w/fusion in 2006. I currently have rods & 6 screws in place. two of the screws are broken. I went to a surgeon, different from the original one (due to insurance reasons),and he won't do anything because there's no way to know if the broken screws are the cause of the pain or not. I refuse to take anymore narcotics. I'm tired of living my life in a fog. And I'm tired of being in pain.
