They prescribed macrobid because its less likely to cause a yeast infection, but just to be safe I have been taking double the amount of my probiotic (recommended by my doctor) and eatting at least 1 cup of yogurt daily. I haven't had any signs as of yet of a yeast infection so hopefully one doesn;t flare up. I am however still have some slight signs of a UTI, its day 4 now.
Hi.. has anyone else taken macrobid for uti?? Is it normal to feel horribly sick with it? How did you all deal with the nausea? My doc gave me reglan but it doesn't seem to be helping and I'm hardly half way with macrobid.. I've been non functional while taking it and it's getting worse every day.
Any advise on dealing with it will be appreciated..

The doc tested for vaginal yeast but there was none so she sent the urine to be cultured and gave me a 7 day scrip of Macrobid.
By day 3, the symptoms were 75% gone but then by day 4 they were back. She called on day 5 to say the culture was clear but that it may be a yeast infection that had gotten into the urethra. I took 3 day Monistat and the symptoms went from urgency/frequency of urination to just urethral burning.
Well back in November I got a bladder infection the week before my outbreak and was treated and I was fine. Well last week I got another bladder infection, and had a prescription for macrobid so I completed the course, and subsequently came down with a yeast infection. Treated that, and now I have my monthly outbreak, except I woke up with the bladder issues yesterday, I'm afraid of taking antibiotics, and I don't have insurance. My question is can HSV2 cause bladder, UTI issues?
I took two rounds of macrobid a 10day and a 7 day. Neither worked for me and I had to get a shot of rocephin. i have no clue if it can effect hcg levels or not.
sounds like you have an infection either uti or yeast totally normal in pregnancy you could even have both at the same time witch would cause it to feel unbearable to walk or get up I've experienced this my second time around go to your doctors as soon as possible and ask the to check you for a uti so that they can give you macrobid so it'll go away then go to a local drug store and buy mionistat 7 day and a yeast infection test good luck start drinking cranberry juice hope you feel bet
That means I could have had the UTI for at least a few days before it got treated.) I also a yeast infection and took generic diflucan for this. I took Macrobid for the UTI and after I finished the prescription (four days after I finished it, about 3 weeks after my trip) I developed a rash/hives on my back, chest, face (there were a few big hives on/around my eyes making it hard to see), hands, and crotch.
So in April I had unprotected sex, I got a severe yeast infection that took a couple doses of diflucan to cure I have always had a problem with reoccurring yeast infections.
But then two days after finishing the antibiotics, the symptoms came back and I had abdominal pain and kidney pain. I went back to the walk in clinic and was put on Macrobid for five days. After five days however, none of my symptoms seemed to be gone. I went to immediate care and they gave me another five days of Macrobid. I finally started feeling better by the 7th day on Macrobid.
I took about two weeks to get rid of the UTI, and then I felt fine for about another two weeks.
I am on antibiotics because i went to a doctor who told me i had a uti. Im on macrobid but before that i was on amoxicillian. I went to the emergency room and the doctor checked my vagina and took a swab and said it looks like a yeast infection but It also looks like genital warts. I was shocked! I have had all my hpv shots and i dont know how i would get them my boyfriend of two years doesnt have them.
So, right now I am being treated with Macrobid for a bladder infection, Valtrex for possible HSV, and a cream yeast infection treatment. I was given a hospital-grade topical ointment containing lidocain for the burn. The doctor said that regardless of what the problem is, it should be gone in a few days. I am very unhappy with this conclusion, as I want to know for sure if I have HSV or not, obviously.
I also had it around 16 weeks. Only down fall to the medicine was it have me a yeast infection after the 7 days but my midwife said that's normal with that medicine.
About halfway through my initial treatment of Macrobid, I felt a burning/itching that seemed consistent with a yeast infection, which I'd gotten before because of antibiotic use. I treated with Monostat 1 and symptoms seemed to disappear. Now, at the end of my Cipro treatment, I am feeling these symptoms again.
I have not noticed any unusual discharge on my underwear, nor any unusual odor.
Now the fun part: I had very brief unprotected sex 32 days before my UTI symptoms began.
I am a 26 year old female. I am taking an antibiotic for a UTI started 1/19. Macrobid twice a day. I do tend to get sick to my stomach with antibiotics. And I have been on this one too. I kissed and recieved oral sex only from a man that says he does not have anything 1/15. I noticed a burning and increased discharge 1/20. My inner lips of my vagina are a little swollen and irritated. I have not noticed any bumps though.
DOES MACROBID CAUSE BLEEDING OR MAKE YOUR MENSTRUAL CYCLE COME EARLY. I JUST FINISHED MACROBID 7 DAY TREATMENT. MY MENSTRUAL CAME 3 DAYS EARLY AND THERE IS BRIGHT RED BLOOD AND USUALLY MY MENSTRUAL BLOOD IS NOT THAT BRIGHT. I INITIIALLY WASNT DUE FOR MY MENSTRUAL UNTIL YESTERDAY I'VE BEEN BLEEDING SINCE THE 3RD AND IM STILL BLEEDING BUT NOT ALOT LIKE I WAS YESTERDAY AND THE DAYS BEFORE BUT THE BLEEDING HAS LIGHTENED.
All negative, every time. Also been tested for bv and yeast many times, usually negative yet symptoms continue to persist even after antibiotics usually Macrobid or Keflex. I usually feel better after antibiotics but a week later the symptoms will return.
I discovered about 2 weeks ago my boyfriend had another partner who he swears was clean about 6 weeks ago. We had intercourse(unprotected) prior to me finding out recently. Around the same time my uti symptoms started up again.
I do know that the weakness and numbness in one side can be caused by the MS, but it did not occur until i took the macrobid. I was stopped from taking the macrobid and started on it 2 more times and each time the weakness returned. Is there anyway to fix this? It is getting rather annoying and saddens me cause it feels like i cant do anymore what i like to. If anyone has had the same thing happen, please let me know im not alone... How can the weakness and numbness be stopped.

Did anyone take macrobid for uti during third trimester?
Uti or bladder infection. My doctor proscribed me macrobid. Terrified to take it, anyone else had to use this while pregnant, I'm only 8 weeks!
