macrobid while pregnant

I had to take it from 25 weeks till I delivered my son at 35 weeks to keep a kidney infection from reoccurring. I've also had to take it twice during this pregnancy due to a stubborn uti.

I've had 3 uti's this pregnancy, therefore I have been put on macrobid for the remaining of my pregnancy. I have to take 1 every night until I deliver. Started @32 weeks am now 35+5. No problems from it yet. I haven't had any syptoms of uti so I would never known if it weren't for the urine soles at Dr. Office.

Oh, that's fine to take while pregnant. I've had to take it a couple of times during different pregnancies. I know you are probably nervous though; especially with this being your first pregnancy. I was the same way with my 1st. I have 5 now though and have taken that and all my little ones were very healthy at birth. You will feel better after the 1st or 2nd pill.

ER doctor prescribed me Macrobid 100mg BID for ten days. Have any one taken this while pregnant? I googled it, and there were a lot of horror stories......just curious to see if others have taken, and there pregnancy remained normal...

ve been bleeding.. This makes me nervous because while taking macrobid I had sex without a condom, he pulled out, but I know that's not always a safe alternative either. I know that during early pregnancy bleeding isn't uncommon. I'm scared out of my mind.. I'm completely against abortion and this anxiety is killing me. Could it be something else that's causing me to bleed a week early while on the pill??

I’m currently 8 dpo and I’ve been back and forth to the hospital with bladder and uti problems. I am very disappointed because I was hoping to get pregnant this cycle. I’ve took 3 pregnancy test, 1 at home and 2 at the hospital and they all were negative. I’m currently taking Antibiotic Macrobid for my UTI and I was given 1 dose of naproxen At the hospital for my severe uti pain. Could any of this be the stopping my conception and implantation?

I was given macrobid at 20 weeks for a uti my dr said it was safe to take while pregnant. Im now almost 32 weeks and baby is fine. Although i think she said yeast infections were common with it I never got one. These sites online may not be the most reputable so I wouldn't listen much. Plus if you dont take meds you could end up with bladder or kidney infection.

I took macrobid almost every month that I was pregnant with my first son! It worked well when I could keep it down. There was no side effects except turning your pee an orangish color!

I know exactly what you're going through...I have a history of kidney stones and UTI (with pregnancy and without) and I went in for blood in my urine and back pain...and they said that my urine was clear (no infection) and everything else looked fine..but that because of the blood they prescribed macrobid as a preventative. I did NOT take it, and I think I should have.

I recently noticed while taking macrobid(I have IC) I also had bright red spotting!

Go to Walmart and talk to the pharmacist but I have been told y I u can take AZO while pregnant. It's just a probiotic and it's natural .

Are you pregnant? Macrobid is pregnancy category B--- used in pregnancy. Cipro, the gold standard is pregnancy category C--- not the best choice for someone who is pregnant. Amoxicillin isn't the best choice at all for a UTI based on the common bacteria that causes UTI's. Every infection is caused by a specific strain of bacteria. Some antibiotics are going to work better on different strains of bacteria.

I have just gotten off of meds for a horrible uti. I finished the meds yesterday. They are not to be taken during pregnancy. They are macrobid and metronidazole. Just found out I'm pregnant today and I'm super worried.

Take it. UTIs can cause miscarriages. Macrobid is safe to take while pregnant.

Has anyone been perscribed, or taken macrobid at the ens of there pregnancy? I was proscribed it. I habe two different drs and im.being induced monday. And it DIRECTLY states dont use it 37 weeks or later or close to delivery. .. im scared and this pregnancy is so freaking hard on me. Im getting to the point of giving up. And i dont want to cause my boy and family need me to fight.

Cranberry juice works well for uti- but to be safe I would take the meds given its an infection and you don't want it to spread.

I of course looked it up and read horrifying stories about people who took this drug while pregnant and their babies DIED! or they had a miscarriage! I am now terrified to take this drug but I know I need to because a UTI is very serious. Has anyone taken this drug? is it safe? how was your experience with it? did anything bad happen too you? I have a uti and I.am scared. I was prescribed macrobid. The nurse and dr say tht it is safe. And I googled it and it also says tht it is safe.

I had 2 uti since pregnant and im 18 weeks today.***** you keeo running to the bathroom hardly anything coming out. But just give up juice and soda for a while and drink water. Thats my problem I love juice lol. Take your antibiotics until there gone an you will be back to normal you can drink some non sugar cranberry juice.

I've never had a uti. I'm 27 and this is my first one they put me on macrobid. It seems I'm using the bathroom every 30 minutes. Before I went to doc to see what was wrong I wasn't peeing like this...has anyone has this before? Did macrobid make you pee a lot and tired??

The only thing I was ever told I could take for it since I was pregnant was Macrobid. You should call your doctor tomorrow and ask about the Macrobid. Also try drinking cranberry juice, or if you can't stand it (i can't) try the OTC cranberry pills, they should help just the same as the juice. I forget exactly how its supposed to help but it does. I've been told I have a UTI and was given Macrobid/Nitrofurantoin. I have taken 3 tablets but out of curiosity I looked them up on the internet and it said some women have lost their babies days after taking the tablets. Has anyone taken these and had a healthy pregnancy?!

Hi.. has anyone else taken macrobid for uti?? Is it normal to feel horribly sick with it? How did you all deal with the nausea? My doc gave me reglan but it doesn't seem to be helping and I'm hardly half way with macrobid.. I've been non functional while taking it and it's getting worse every day. Any advise on dealing with it will be appreciated..
