Clearly your prednisone problems have changed your physiology, including water retention. Urinating that water off can certainly cause increased voiding symptoms. Also prednisone can interfere with your hormonal status which can also cause fluid retention and the swollen abdomen. Its impossible to diagnose someone in this setting with IC. Its unclear what is causing your bladder pain and pressure, but i've never heard of a prednisone induced IC.

I have now restored to 155 pounds, and feel like I continue to gain weight. I also have constant water retention. He decided to treat me for a UTI based upon my symptoms and gave me a 3 day course of Macrobid. The symptoms cleared up and then returned within 2 days of finishing the medication. I noticed that the sediment looked purulent on the toilet paper but dried like chalk if I got it on my hands. Upon returning to my doctor, the urine dip was once again normal other than "Trace" WBC, so he sent it in for micoscopic evaluation, which has not come back yet.

I went to my gyn I had a uti he gave me meds macrobid and said it will also help my throat . But I don't see how plus I don't feel comfortable taking meds while I'm pregnant Is there anything I can do without meds ?for UTI and Sore Throat if not did anybody take MACROBID while pregnant ?

the only thing they found was some red blood cells in my urine. The doctor prescribed me macrobid anyways...I havent taken them yet because it has almost completely gone away. I have been gorging myself with water, so i am hoping that it was only because i was dehydrated. Any suggestions? Should I take the macrobid anyways?

I have no symptoms except for extreme fatigue and water retention and some slight swelling on my outer ankle bone. I found out I am gluten intolerant so that means damage and inflammation for the last 45 years but I am gluten-free and almost grain free now. I drink a lot and pee a lot so it is almost like my body is somehow intolerant to water or leaking it through my intestines? Diuretics have never worked and I have no signs of kidney disease.

I was given macrobid at 20 weeks for a uti my dr said it was safe to take while pregnant. Im now almost 32 weeks and baby is fine. Although i think she said yeast infections were common with it I never got one. These sites online may not be the most reputable so I wouldn't listen much. Plus if you dont take meds you could end up with bladder or kidney infection.

I sometimes have to use a catheter anyway (mainly for shy bladder syndrome, but a few times I also had urinary retention from NSAID drugs or something), and I was running low on catheters, so I washed but didn't properly sanitize some of my catheters for several uses. A few days later, I got a fever, and other UTI symptoms. I then went to the doctor and was treated for UTI with antibiotic Macrobid (the urine culture later came back positive for Staph).
