I've stopped taking methimazole 12 days ago because of the strong side effects (hives, joint/muscle pain, dry throat). Though these effects are lessening, I wonder how long it might take for them to be completely gone.
I have had a recent bout with hives. This is my first reaction to hives lasting more than a few days. I was worried about it because I had a one night stand in Europe about 6 wks ago. The condom broke and afterward I developed a UTI. (The symptoms were very mild for the UTI so I didn't go to the dr. till about a week after my trip. That means I could have had the UTI for at least a few days before it got treated.) I also a yeast infection and took generic diflucan for this.

You should notice the expiry date of the tablet Macrobid and then take it only under medical supervision after consulting your doctor. Macrobid has some side effects and should be taken only after a doctor’s prescription.

Your symptoms are suggestive of hives. Hives (medically known as urticaria) are red, itchy, raised areas of skin that appear in varying shapes and sizes. They have a tendency to change size rapidly and to move around, disappearing in one place and reappearing in other places, often in a matter of hours.
Many cases of hives are "idiopathic," meaning no cause is known. Others may be triggered by viral infections or medications. Treatment is by oral antihistamines.
Mild problems: • soreness, redness, tenderness, or swelling where the shot was given • fainting (mainly adolescents) • headache, muscle aches • fever • nausea If these problems occur, they usually begin soon after the shot and last 1-2 days.
Severe problems: • Life-threatening allergic reactions to vaccines are very rare. If they do occur, it is usually within a few minutes to a few hours after the shot.

I have relapsing-remitting MS and was given Macrobid for a UTI. After my first day of Macrobid, my entire left side has gone numb and i have lost function in it. I do know that the weakness and numbness in one side can be caused by the MS, but it did not occur until i took the macrobid. I was stopped from taking the macrobid and started on it 2 more times and each time the weakness returned. Is there anyway to fix this?
