You should notice the expiry date of the tablet Macrobid and then take it only under medical supervision after consulting your doctor. Macrobid has some side effects and should be taken only after a doctor’s prescription.

Macrobid is the safest antibiotic durning pregnancy... It has no side effects during pregnancy, I took it when I was 5weeks and the Dr, so the pharmacy tech advice it was safe!!!
I've been taking Macrobid for 6 days with no relief it feels hopeless... The Er doctors are just guessing what to give me since i have so many allergies.. My urologist can't see me until 18 but i'm so tired of feeling like this. I have flank pain on both sides even with my small stones on both kidneys. I think IV mwds are my next step, Cipro Sulfamethozol has not helped. I had a cystscope done n I urinate 30-50 times a day now.
I am a 38 year old female; normally healthy.
I was diagnosed with a minor UTI (my first one ever) about 8 days ago. They gave me a three day dose of Macrobid - which I did not consume. I am too afraid. I am allergic to the cillins (anaphylaxis), and have had a horrible reaction to quinones. Every time I thought about putting that little Macrobid in my mouth, I would start to panic. The following day, without the Macrobid, my symptoms were much improved. The day after that - even better.
I took Macrobid for the UTI and after I finished the prescription (four days after I finished it, about 3 weeks after my trip) I developed a rash/hives on my back, chest, face (there were a few big hives on/around my eyes making it hard to see), hands, and crotch. I thought it might just be an allergic reaction to Macrobid and did what I normally do when I have an allergic reaction, take a prednisone prescription (pill form).

Well back in November I got a bladder infection the week before my outbreak and was treated and I was fine. Well last week I got another bladder infection, and had a prescription for macrobid so I completed the course, and subsequently came down with a yeast infection. Treated that, and now I have my monthly outbreak, except I woke up with the bladder issues yesterday, I'm afraid of taking antibiotics, and I don't have insurance. My question is can HSV2 cause bladder, UTI issues?
e,, The UTIs are probably contributing to a relapse and docs solution to the UTI is macrobid - aah, and then benadryl to try to quell the reaction to the macrobid! No wonder you are at your wits end.
My suggestion is to look the doc dead in the eye and demand another antibiotic for the UTI. Tell he/she you are willing to take your chances on another med.
How long does the numbness and loss of function last each time?
I do know that the weakness and numbness in one side can be caused by the MS, but it did not occur until i took the macrobid. I was stopped from taking the macrobid and started on it 2 more times and each time the weakness returned. Is there anyway to fix this? It is getting rather annoying and saddens me cause it feels like i cant do anymore what i like to. If anyone has had the same thing happen, please let me know im not alone... How can the weakness and numbness be stopped.
Hi Dr's I'm hoping you can answer some questions for me, I made the mistake of reading some forums and wonder if I may have contracted NGU which I have never heard of until reading these forums. I had what I would think was a non risk exposure experimenting with another male. He performed protected oral sex on me and also spit on the head of my penis when the condom wasn't on me and rubbed it in. From everything I have read this is a non risk exposure.
This winter I have had less than a month between symptoms. My doctor gave me a prescription for Macrobid in case I need it. I have taken it for the first time the past three days and the infection is still quite apparent especially during the night when I can feel the internal discomfort. Normally with the use of Cipro I would be on the mend by the end of 3 days. Is there any merit in taking both meds or should I or even can I just switch back to Cipro mid treatment.
Azo is to just temporarily help with the pain before you get to the doctor or before your prescription kicks in. It will not make it go away. You need to take the meds you received. If not, then just wait for your doctor. Macrobid is the most common and should not make you sick. You can also take it up until your third trimester. Im prone to UTI's, I know all about them. I used to need to see a urologist for my issues.

I posted on here earlier this week that I was having burning after urination but doc tested and no uti well it got worse and I ended up back at the doc and turns out it is a uti.. She prescribed me macrobid... Has anyone else taken this? Any complications with it?
I was on macrobid for a UTI at the time of collection (started on macrobid Saturday, had 4 doses by the time of collection on Monday morning, blood work as fasting so last dose taken before blood collection was over 12 hours previously). Does anyone know if macrobid affects eGFR or is this level an induction of possible kidney infection/disease/cancer?

Has anyone been perscribed, or taken macrobid at the ens of there pregnancy? I was proscribed it. I habe two different drs and im.being induced monday. And it DIRECTLY states dont use it 37 weeks or later or close to delivery. .. im scared and this pregnancy is so freaking hard on me. Im getting to the point of giving up. And i dont want to cause my boy and family need me to fight.
After unprotected intercourse and oral sex with a new girlfriend I soon developed bleeding of the gums and an intermittent light burning in the prostate area. Is Staphylococcus considered an STD and will the antibiotic Microbid kill it?
