s this pregnancy, therefore I have been put on macrobid for the remaining of my pregnancy. I have to take 1 every night until I deliver. Started @32 weeks am now 35+5. No problems from it yet. I haven't had any syptoms of uti so I would never known if it weren't for the urine soles at Dr. Office.

t go away without it. Macrobid is safe during pregnancy. Having an untreated infection to on is dangerous for you and your baby. It can cause you to have a kidney infection and go septic (which is when the infection gets so bad it goes into your blood stream). Take the meds and you'll be fine!

I have been on both macrobid and bactrim at different points during my pregnancy... I wasnt thrilled either time but my doctor reassured me many times that is was safe, much safer then not treating the infection. Trust me, im with you I really didnt want to take the med. But its not safe for baby to let the infection go, it can cause preterm labour and possible get to the baby.

Definitely see your doctor.. It sounds like a uti. The last time I had a uti and didn't get it treated on time it ended up being really painful and causes kidney stones!

I've been told I have a UTI and was given Macrobid/Nitrofurantoin. I have taken 3 tablets but out of curiosity I looked them up on the internet and it said some women have lost their babies days after taking the tablets. Has anyone taken these and had a healthy pregnancy?!

Your doctor will give you amoxicillin. It is safe for you to take during pregnancy. You should never take anything without consulting your doctor first. I would call your doctor asap and let him/her know that you took something over the counter.

I took amoxicillin for a UTI in the beginning of my pregnancy. As long as your doctor is okay with it and prescribes it for you, you should be fine.

She started me on Macrobid and told me to take another test. When reading the leaflet for the home pregnancy test it says antibiotics can effect the resulst so should i take the test or wait till the antibiotics are done.

I know exactly what you're going through...I have a history of kidney stones and UTI (with pregnancy and without) and I went in for blood in my urine and back pain...and they said that my urine was clear (no infection) and everything else looked fine..but that because of the blood they prescribed macrobid as a preventative. I am 16 wks. pregnant and my OB prescribed Macrobid for UTI, i had urinalysis and small amount of blood was noted. I told my OB that my urologist said that im always will have blood in my urine beacuse of hx. of cyst in my kidney so I requested to have urine culture prior to taking Macrobid, my OB is insistant to start the med. since it is going to take awhile for culture results to come back. so im already in my 4rt day of the meds.

Are you pregnant? Macrobid is pregnancy category B--- used in pregnancy. Cipro, the gold standard is pregnancy category C--- not the best choice for someone who is pregnant. Amoxicillin isn't the best choice at all for a UTI based on the common bacteria that causes UTI's. Every infection is caused by a specific strain of bacteria. Some antibiotics are going to work better on different strains of bacteria.

When i was in the hospital the other( for being sick) the doctor told me i also had a UTI.. He gave me macrobid.. I was too freaked out to take it. (even though he said its ok to take while pregnant) I feel fine.. I dont have anymore symptoms. Someone had said that it can cause a mc in early pregnancy. Hi, so over 2 weeks ago I was diagnosed with a UTI, put on 500 mg cephalaxin (spelling?) 4 times a day for 7 days. I forgot to take the last day and a half, and the UTI came back. I was then put on 5 days of macrobid (twice day). (During my antibiotics I was still having sex) My last pill was Saturday night (9/17) and I am still suffering from frequent urination. Azo seems to help but I don't want to rely on it. I'm 19 and this is my first UTI ever. Has this happened to anyone else?
