Is there anything I can do for a bad sore throat . I went to my gyn I had a uti he gave me meds macrobid and said it will also help my throat . But I don't see how plus I don't feel comfortable taking meds while I'm pregnant

About a month ago i visited a sex worker and I received protected oral from her but performed oral on her vaginally and anally unprotected. A few days later, I had a sore throat that was pretty severe but went away after 4 days because I took loads of vitamin c.
I was worried about catching something in my mouth so i received a throat culture to test for gonorrhea and herpes and both came back negative (6 days post exposure).
On Sunday, May 30, he began having some body aches and began getting a sore throat. He attributed to a cold. he mentioned that he did have a little bit of itching and had a red spot that he applied neosporin to. I had some sinus issues and had gone to the Dr. the previous week for a UTI infection. I was on macrobid during the weekend we were together. He also felt that he had a fever.
The only thing I was ever told I could take for it since I was pregnant was Macrobid. You should call your doctor tomorrow and ask about the Macrobid. Also try drinking cranberry juice, or if you can't stand it (i can't) try the OTC cranberry pills, they should help just the same as the juice. I forget exactly how its supposed to help but it does. DOES MACROBID CAUSE BLEEDING OR MAKE YOUR MENSTRUAL CYCLE COME EARLY. I JUST FINISHED MACROBID 7 DAY TREATMENT. MY MENSTRUAL CAME 3 DAYS EARLY AND THERE IS BRIGHT RED BLOOD AND USUALLY MY MENSTRUAL BLOOD IS NOT THAT BRIGHT. I INITIIALLY WASNT DUE FOR MY MENSTRUAL UNTIL YESTERDAY I'VE BEEN BLEEDING SINCE THE 3RD AND IM STILL BLEEDING BUT NOT ALOT LIKE I WAS YESTERDAY AND THE DAYS BEFORE BUT THE BLEEDING HAS LIGHTENED.
No cold. Stomachis hot. Headaches. Sore throat is better but no change with respect to fever. It is as high as the first day. Initially doctor prescribed Azithromycin for 5 days. It didn't help. Then he has changd the prescription to Levaquin 500 for 10 days. It is the 4th day, bu there is no change. Actually the temprature shoots up after taking these medicines( both azi and leva). Please help.. What is it happening with him?
Hi and so sorry you have this problem. Do you have pus in your throat and/o a high fever? There is an anaerobic (grows without oxygen) bacteria that can be in your throat normally or can cause chronic sore throat. It is called Fusobacterium necrophorum. It isn't always seen in the throat and the regular antibiotics wouldn't work on it You may need metronidazole. That is if you are not allergic to it.

I do know that the weakness and numbness in one side can be caused by the MS, but it did not occur until i took the macrobid. I was stopped from taking the macrobid and started on it 2 more times and each time the weakness returned. Is there anyway to fix this?

Did anyone take macrobid for uti during third trimester?
First - my girlfriend was seen by a doctor for the burning sensation while urinating. The doctor prescribed her macrobid. She is on day 3 of the antibiotic and the burning has now essentially disppeared. Is macrobid ever prescribed for stds? If not would u conclude that this was very likely just a UTI?
Second - based on my urine test for gonnorhea and clamydia how accurate is the urine test (in your own practical experience)??

Are you taking macrobid for a uri? I think what is also very often the case with what appears to be spotting during treatment is that the uti in itself can cause what appears to be spotting or a period. https://drhouse.com/can-a-uti-cause-bleeding-like-a-period/ In those cases, it's an inflammatory response. And it gets better when the uti is healed and enough time passes for normalization. The antibiotics kill off bacteria causing the uti which then reduces inflammation.
I have sore throat for around 6 months. I think it all started with some sort of allergy because I would only have it when I was at home, generally any dust would make it worse. Did the doctor do a throat culture for strep? A quick swab to the back of the throat for a rapid strep test could give you the answer to your discomfort. Whatever is causing your discomfort, it does not sound like it is going to go away on its own. You are going to need the treatment of a doctor.
