I have continuous symptoms of bv for quite a few years. During those years I was suffering more often than not. I had the usual symptoms of bv...fishy odor, watery discharge and the worst depression and anxiety because of these symptoms. I tried EVERYTHING! The peroxide douche, the apple cider vinegar douche, probiotic drinks, probiotic pills... I went broke purchasing the probiotic pills and all the probiotic yogurt drinks!
I went to a nurse practitioner who took a look and said it looked like BV -- she sent away for a test for BV and trich and confirmed it was BV. I took MetroGel for a week and things seemed to clear up.
Another note: My period never came in October, which I thought may have been due to new diet changes.
Fast forward a couple weeks and I noticed pelvic pain and symptoms similar to a mild UTI.
Is it safe to take the antibiotics Macrobid and Flagyl together? I'm 20 weeks and have both a UTI and bacterial infection. I know that my doctor wouldn't prescribe anything that would hurt the baby but there's still that lingering doubt in the back of my head that worries it isn't safe. Has anyone ever been pregnant and on both at the same time?

Ive had bv ever since my first check up. like i was 2 months. and now im 4 months. tried flagyl for two days but i stopped cuz i was allergic to it and clindesse as well (vaginal cream) one dose. then i was checked up last july 30th and they called me to say ... I still am positive for BV infection :(( I hope my babys doing fine. I am gonna take clindamycin hcl twice a day for a week. even asked the pharmacist if its really safe. and yeah they all told me its safe to take.
I took bactrim for a UTI aND my vagina swelled up from an allergic reaction. Was removed immediately from the drug andealer put on macrobid. 4 days later still alittle swollen. Never has happened to me before. Anyone else experience this???
Now that im expecting again i have a uti and bv and she has put me on 2 antibiotics flagyl being the kne she prescribed for the bv and macrobid for the uti... Im so scared to take antibiotics and have read horror stories.about birth defects and other complications caused by using antibiotics during pregnancy. Affects that most obs never look into... I jist dont want to.lose.or damage my baby:( im so worried. I guess what im trying to ask is there a safe alternative to treating my infections?
All negative, every time. Also been tested for bv and yeast many times, usually negative yet symptoms continue to persist even after antibiotics usually Macrobid or Keflex. I usually feel better after antibiotics but a week later the symptoms will return.
I discovered about 2 weeks ago my boyfriend had another partner who he swears was clean about 6 weeks ago. We had intercourse(unprotected) prior to me finding out recently. Around the same time my uti symptoms started up again.
The only thing I was ever told I could take for it since I was pregnant was Macrobid. You should call your doctor tomorrow and ask about the Macrobid. Also try drinking cranberry juice, or if you can't stand it (i can't) try the OTC cranberry pills, they should help just the same as the juice. I forget exactly how its supposed to help but it does. DOES MACROBID CAUSE BLEEDING OR MAKE YOUR MENSTRUAL CYCLE COME EARLY. I JUST FINISHED MACROBID 7 DAY TREATMENT. MY MENSTRUAL CAME 3 DAYS EARLY AND THERE IS BRIGHT RED BLOOD AND USUALLY MY MENSTRUAL BLOOD IS NOT THAT BRIGHT. I INITIIALLY WASNT DUE FOR MY MENSTRUAL UNTIL YESTERDAY I'VE BEEN BLEEDING SINCE THE 3RD AND IM STILL BLEEDING BUT NOT ALOT LIKE I WAS YESTERDAY AND THE DAYS BEFORE BUT THE BLEEDING HAS LIGHTENED.
My Dr wants me on antibiotics through my whole pregnancy. He thinks it might save my kidneys, he is thinking that if I don't take it I will most likely lose my kidneys. I refused because the antibiotics have serious side effects for long term use and there is more than just me to think about. I am not comfortable risking the baby...
I have been to obgyn four times in three months and the vaginal itch hives and uti it is a visious cycle . I have been on metronitizole 3 x for bv and numerious yeast infections which was given dyfucan and uti 's 4x sence august each time taking macrobid the last 2x with symtoms of uti's there lab came back no bacteria but i had blood . But i to have been have the hives on inner thigh that comes and goes itches like crazy .
Urine culture came back negative for bacteria so they took me off the antibiotics. Did tests for everything (chlymadia, gonnarhea, BV, yeast) which all came back negative. They also did an ultrasound which showed everything normal in my ovaries and uterus area. The symptoms suddenly disappeared overnight after about a week and a half of this with no explanation.
I am 23 years old. I have relapsing-remitting MS and was given Macrobid for a UTI. After my first day of Macrobid, my entire left side has gone numb and i have lost function in it. I do know that the weakness and numbness in one side can be caused by the MS, but it did not occur until i took the macrobid. I was stopped from taking the macrobid and started on it 2 more times and each time the weakness returned. Is there anyway to fix this?
t take it but went back for a second set of std results on Dec 31 and she gave me meds for chlamydia, Gonorrhea, BV and yeast. I took them all plus the macrobid and felt better some, no discharge and nor swollen anymore but still had the pain on the left groin and slight uti symptoms. I've taken all the meds plus valtrex 100mg 3 times during this time to avoid cold sores just in case. Jan 8 the uti symptoms came back again and my clitoris feels swollen or uncomfortable.

Are you taking macrobid for a uri? I think what is also very often the case with what appears to be spotting during treatment is that the uti in itself can cause what appears to be spotting or a period. https://drhouse.com/can-a-uti-cause-bleeding-like-a-period/ In those cases, it's an inflammatory response. And it gets better when the uti is healed and enough time passes for normalization. The antibiotics kill off bacteria causing the uti which then reduces inflammation.
