I understand that synthyroid must be taken at different times from my other medications. I am on 3 other medications. I take the synthyroid (complete thyroidectomy Dec 2008) and coumadin (DVT) at the same time and then 1 1/2 hrs later, I take topamax (migraine) and protonix (GERD). Is this enough time between each?
The first thing to do is to politely ask her physician if he would consider other protocols than coumadin. Among other problems is it often very difficult to maintain consistent levels. I have discussed coumadin in other posts. The physician has to suggest coumadin, because that is the current "standard of care". If the PATIENT pops the question, he can then discuss other alternatives (they are there), which do not provide as much anti-coagulent action, but permit a normal diet.
The onocolgist wants to put her on tamoxifen and we have found out that there is a concern as to the interaction with coumadin. If she goes on the tamoxifen could there be a greater risk of stroke from blood clots than from discontinuing the coumadin? Can coumadin or sotalol cause cancers of any kind? Thanks.
I am taking 75 mg of plavix and cannot find anything about the vitamin K interaction. I need additional calcium, and the brand I am looking at taking would give me 40mcg of vitamin K. Is this safe or a problem? Where can I find how much vitamin K is in a serving of broccoli or spinich?

being on coumadin you shouldn't drink any alcohol and the most I would say is no more than 2 glasses of wine.
I take 1 tablespoon of Carlson lemon flavor fish oil in the AM, 1 teaspoon in the afternoon and 1 tablespoon in the evening.
Coumadin is one of the all-time worst "hangovers" from the "heyday" of patent medications: No matter how many alternatives there are for it, it just won't go away.
She also takes coumadin to thin her blood, and I have read that excelon could cause bleeding. Could there be a drug interaction between these two drugs that may cause internal bleeding to occur?

DOES MACROBID CAUSE BLEEDING OR MAKE YOUR MENSTRUAL CYCLE COME EARLY. I JUST FINISHED MACROBID 7 DAY TREATMENT. MY MENSTRUAL CAME 3 DAYS EARLY AND THERE IS BRIGHT RED BLOOD AND USUALLY MY MENSTRUAL BLOOD IS NOT THAT BRIGHT. I INITIIALLY WASNT DUE FOR MY MENSTRUAL UNTIL YESTERDAY I'VE BEEN BLEEDING SINCE THE 3RD AND IM STILL BLEEDING BUT NOT ALOT LIKE I WAS YESTERDAY AND THE DAYS BEFORE BUT THE BLEEDING HAS LIGHTENED.
I will tell you from experience the cordarone and the coumadin interact badly but is manageable you just have to watch your INR from the coumadin because the cordarone makes your body need less coumadin. The Cordarone dosage will go down shortly and it will make you sick to your stomach if you take it in the morning but that will go away after you finish the loading dose (high dosage) With this medicine it has to infiltrate your whole body before it starts working.
I do know that the weakness and numbness in one side can be caused by the MS, but it did not occur until i took the macrobid. I was stopped from taking the macrobid and started on it 2 more times and each time the weakness returned. Is there anyway to fix this? It is getting rather annoying and saddens me cause it feels like i cant do anymore what i like to. If anyone has had the same thing happen, please let me know im not alone... Did anyone take macrobid for uti during third trimester?
Uti or bladder infection. My doctor proscribed me macrobid. Terrified to take it, anyone else had to use this while pregnant, I'm only 8 weeks!
Has anyone been perscribed, or taken macrobid at the ens of there pregnancy? I was proscribed it. I habe two different drs and im.being induced monday. And it DIRECTLY states dont use it 37 weeks or later or close to delivery. .. im scared and this pregnancy is so freaking hard on me. Im getting to the point of giving up. I'm 10 weeks and I have a UTI. ER doctor prescribed me Macrobid 100mg BID for ten days. Have any one taken this while pregnant? I googled it, and there were a lot of horror stories......just curious to see if others have taken, and there pregnancy remained normal...
The urinalysis that was sent to the lab showed that their was a tiny bacteria but they werent sure if this was due to cross contamination. My questions are below, the dr took put me on macrobid saying this may help my issue.
