Avatar m tn As far as I know, that only can be determined for sure by a skin biopsy. Was that done? It can affect Collies and Shelties. There are definitely other diseases this could be.
410475 tn?1262942367 t bark at our cats who stay in-doors. our cats are use to using that area he is in as their in and out spot and they are upset because everything is in upheavel around here. all their hiding places to sleep are gone, boxes everywhere, strange people in and out, and now a dog. if we could just take our cats and go it wouldn't be our problem anymore but thats a 2 weeks away for me and a month for my husband.
Avatar m tn Right now, I have a Chi mix. I had many Shelties for years and adopted and helped with Grethound rescue. Yearscago, had Doxies, Yorkies and some mixes. You?
Avatar n tn We do not know where to even begin looking for a problem so I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this or know of common health issues in shelties that may cause this? Any help is appreciated!
Avatar f tn Oh congrats. Used to show Shelties in Confirmation and Obedience. Most do very well with training. Hope you are dealing with a reputable breeder as they can have health issues. I used to use various things for training but most are not what you are looking for. Karla knows more about food. Sometimes, I would just poach then bake chicken breasts and use small pieces. Used calf's liver too. The chicken is less messy.
Avatar n tn That little bit of difference in protein should in no way make a difference of that degree in coat color. A dog would have to be severely malnourished in order to have coat color be affected that severely and even then I don't know that it would change that much. It sounds to me more like a genetic thing going on. There is a dilution gene that might be coming into play here that I would suspect is more likely to be responsible for this.
Avatar n tn my sheltie coughs like she has something in her throat she wants to bring up. I took her to the vet and he couldnt find anything wrong with her. My daughter who was a vet tech said it is a reverse sneeze. Is there anything I can do to make it better?
Avatar m tn Thanks for your comment! I find it very disappointing when doctors don't test or suggest what to test for. In my case my husband doesn't care, but I want to feel the same like I used to be. I'll be 40 next month, I don't want to feel like my life is over. Many women don't pursue testosterone because don't know, and if the doctors don't mention testosterone as a test, that's the end of it.
Avatar n tn I expect that your low TSH has resulted in low FT4 and FT3, but that needs to be confirmed. In addition you need to be tested for Vitamin D, which is very important, B12 and you were tested for ferritin, which needs to be 100, so yours is terribly low.Low ferritin (iron) can also cause symptoms, some of which mimic hypothyroidism. Even more important than test results, it is vital to know about your symptoms.
8101930 tn?1420001456 Yeah my sister had low thyroid when she was pregnant too so I guess it runs in the family. They Say I can go off the meds couple months after I give birth if my thyroid is good so that makes me feel better too. It just got super crazy low from the pregnancy. . Babies do take lots from us though.
Avatar n tn I have low thyroid problems. Is there any way that i can come down with Graves Disease?
Avatar f tn Does anyone have this problem? The doctors said my thyroid is low and I'm going to get it tested again to see if its still low or not. Will this cause problems in my pregnancy?
Avatar f tn I am 19 weeks and today my doctor said my thyroid is low. I might have to get it removed. I did some research and I read it can be harmful for the baby. I'm really scared is there anyone who has had this before?
Avatar f tn My latest labs show low TSH and "low thyroid" (according to the nurse) Am now waiting for the scan in 3 more weeks. What is the Dr. looking for?
Avatar f tn 80) TSH had been as high as 13 in the past and as low as 1.497. Upon retest, two months later, my TSH was too low (.023) so my does was cut in half. Upon retest, 6 weeks later, my TSH was even lower (.005). Doctor took me off my meds and scheduled me for a thyroid scan and uptake and new bloodwork (still waiting on the scan results). My TSH is now .246 off meds completely for 8 weeks. However, my free T3 is now 2.17 (2.30-4.20 pg/mL) and my T4 is now 0.90 (0.70-1.80 ng/dL).
Avatar m tn I got a call from my doctor today. I've been told, I have low thyroid and I would have to come into my GP's office. Is there some reason I need to see the Doctor AGAIN. Can't this medication just be phoned into the Rx? Should I get a referral to a specialist?
Avatar f tn Typically, when there are plenty of thyroid hormones, TSH remains low, because the thyroid does not need further stimulation. If TSH goes too low, as in your case, this is an indication that the thyroid is producing too much of thyroid hormones. This is called hyperthyroidism and "can" be a very serious situation. You should call your doctor back and tell her/him how you are feeling. You need treatment as soon as possible.
535882 tn?1396576685 My 24 hour saliva test cam back low adrenal in the AM/ normal rest of day? any ideas on why this happens. TT Nov 08 . on 120 Armour 10 days Now. anyone have some insite.
Avatar f tn If not on thyroid medication then you need additional testing to determine cause of the low TSH. If taking thyroid medication, that frequently will result in a suppressed TSH and is the basis for the following comments. When taking thyroid medication, a suppressed TSH does not automatically mean that you are hyper, unless you are experiencing hyper symptoms that are a result of excessive levels of the biologically active thyroid hormones, Free T3 and Free T4.
