Avatar f tn I am breastfeeding my daughter now for more than 12weeks and just by doing that I have gone back to my pre-pregnancy pregnancy weight within 2 weeks and that's after a c-section. I'm on no special diet, I eat whatever I want whenever I want. And I'm constantly hungry because of my body generating milk. But I must say, I was lucky to not have picked up alot of weight during the pregnancy.
148057 tn?1231426991 I know many women praise breastfeeding for helping them lose weight, but have any of you struggled with losing weight while breastfeeding and instead lost it AFTER you were done breastfeeding? I lost all but 5 pounds that I had gained while pregnant. I am 5'8" and weighed 140 before I got pregnant - so I was very average in weight.
Avatar f tn Any advise on how to lose weight while breastfeeding? I got down to under my pre pregnancy weight when my baby was 2 weeks old. Since then, I've gained 10. In the last week I've tried cutting calories but my milk supply has decreased. How do I lose it w/o losing milk?
2188958 tn?1346444891 with my first in 2008 i lost 25lb or maybe a little more same with my 2nd one in 2010 and now after this pregnancy, my daughter is 21 days old now and i lost 35lb already so i got like 8lb more to lose to get to my pre-pregnancy weight.=).
Avatar f tn I don't stress I over losing weight but already lost 25 lbs I'm breastfeeding and that enough helped me lose weight. My son is 2 months now. Never worked out. But I do drink lots of water and watch what I eat. Also I wear a waist cincher from Time to time. I'm sure if you worked out a little ( since recommended anyway ) n wore a cincher on a regular basis then you would be back to your body in no time.
Avatar f tn does anybody know if it works to be on a diet while breastfeeding fulltime? I want to lose weight. I've got a 4 month :) and do you know of any good diet in that case?
Avatar n tn I was 126 when i fell pregnant the first time. Got up to 155. After the first week post partum i was back to prepregnancy weight (after having a 10pounf baby which helped ;) ). With breastfeeding and good genetics i got down to 110 which im at now with my 2nd pregnancy. My belly was never taut again and still have a bazillion stretchmarks but i grew my son and im proud of them. Hard work, movong and eating healthy, breastfeeding and genetics were what did it for me. Everyone is different.
6520484 tn?1399082398 But I still have 20lbs of fat that I put on during the pregnancy. Just wondering if anyone had success in losing the baby weight? I could use some pointers. I already eat healthy and all I drink is water and milk, no juice or pop or anything. I'm too tired to exercise (with Two week old baby and all). Anyone do anything to lose the weight that really worked?
193609 tn?1292180293 How did you guys lose the weight you gained during your pregnancy??? It has been 7 months and I just can't stand this extra fat any longer!!!!!!! WHAT IS AN EFFECTIVE WAY TO LOSE WEIGHT???
Avatar f tn m not sure about the belly bandit thing, but I do know from experience the best way for losing weight after pregnancy is breastfeeding and a healthy diet. Your body will burn upwards to 500 calories a day just exclusively breastfeeding..
Avatar f tn I had a friend who had a similar concern, she was pleasantly surprised by her weight loss afer pregnancy. Breastfeeding burns a lot of calories and will actually help you with your weight loss goals, while being a wonderful bonding experience for you and your little one. The part that you may actually find hard is after you stop breastfeeding or aren't his sole source of nutrition and aren't burning those extra calories anymore. I hope this helps.
1715474 tn?1318189449 ] Second, like the previous poster said, losing weight while pregnant is harmful to the baby because as you get rid of the fat deposits, toxins are released into the body being harmful to the baby. What you can do is just make wise eating choices. I was overweight when I became pregnant and since I was very scared of getting much bigger I cut out all soda and juices, sugary sweets and chips, and it helped.
5891248 tn?1406410864 I haven't had a period yet! Avatar f tn Looking for some recommendations on some good effective birth control after pregnancy that's safe while breastfeeding! I'm really not a fan of the pill... And looking for something long lasting and something that doesn't make you gain too much weight because I really need to lose weight after this pregnancy!

Avatar f tn magazine recommends a simple calculation to determine your calorie requirements while breastfeeding. Multiply your pre-pregnancy weight by 12 if you are sedentary, 15 if you are moderately active and 22 if you are very active, then add 400 to 500 calories for nursing. For instance, a woman who exercises for 30 to 60 minutes per day and weighed 135 pounds pre-pregnancy would need 135 times 15, plus 500 calories -- or 2,525 calories per day.
Avatar f tn breastfeeding is a wonderful way to help loose weight, once bub is here everytime you put baby to breast make sure you have a full glass of water, and eating healthily as well will help :)
Avatar f tn Are you planning on breastfeeding? I was 134 before pregnancy and I'm 172 now.
Avatar f tn My cousin was but her doctor told her she needs to stop because she is losing weight fast due to lack of nutrients but if you are gaining weight and not feeling weak you should be fine.
518733 tn?1333017015 I went for 4-hour walks and inline skating with stroller for a year and the weight had fallen off in all the right places, however, until I stopped breastfeeding after 11 months, I always had a bit of a "spare tire" around my waist. That was likely the body`s reservoir to maintain reliable milk production. It disappeared two weeks after I stopped nursing. So I think usually our bodies make sure to provide the essentials for baby. I wouldn`t worry.
Avatar f tn I am going to breastfeed and i worry alot that what if my boobs get smaller after i stop breastfeeding than they were pre-pregnancy. Ive seen alot of ladies with big boobs like already a while after stopping breastfeeding but ive also seen a few who went completly flat. In what cases could they go flat?
