Losing weight in first trimester of pregnancy

Common Questions and Answers about Losing weight in first trimester of pregnancy

Avatar n tn I am 9 weeks pregnant and this is my first pregnancy and instead of gaining weight I am losing weight. I haven't had any nausea or vomiting in the past 2 days but I am still losing weight. I am scared that this could affect my baby. Is there something wrong or is this normal ?
Avatar f tn It depends on what your starting weight is and the way you are losing it. If you have a higher starting weight and you are losing weight because you are eating healthier and exercising than your okay. If your doctor says its okay, you should be fine. Plus you have more than half your pregnancy ahead of you to gain some of that weight back. Don't stress, i am sure you'll be fine.
1415818 tn?1291134343 Not at all loosing weight is totally normal in the first stages of pregnancy, I mean you loose your appetite and are being sick, im15 weeks and still loosing it, I'm not expecting to gain anything until the very end so I wouldn't worry, how far are u?
621803 tn?1302888341 Hi Ladies, I was wondering how many of you experienced weight loss in your first trimester. I know it can be fairly common if you have bad morning sickness, but I haven't thrown up once, and very rarely feel nauseus at all, so I know its not that. I'm actually hungry ALL of the time! I feel like I'm always eating! I'm not trying to lose weight, although I have been eating a little healthier than I used to, but I wouldn't say there's been a big difference in my diet.
Avatar f tn Yes it's normal to lose weight while pregnant. I lost weight the first trimester and my doctor didn't worry as long as baby is growing. Just eat healthy and stay active! !
Avatar f tn with all four of my pregnancies I list weight in the first trimester. My doctore said that if I gained no weight at all but the baby was healthy was all that mattered.
Avatar f tn That happened to me too my first trimester my dr told me as long as u keepin your food down its ok you will gain it back most women do lose weight in first trimester i did til i was almost 20 weeks and im 33 now and gained my a whole 30lb back

Avatar f tn In the beginning of my pregnancy I lost weight instead of gaining it then when I got to my second trimester I started gaining it
Avatar f tn I lost 12 pounds in my first trimester then gained 8 pounds and just found out i lost 5 pounds in just 2 weeks doctor says is normal because baby shifts position and he/she takes your weight/nutrition from you if he/she needs it. But 100% normal :) good luck!
7136384 tn?1390142888 i lost sooooo much weight in my first trimester. i was always so super sick! like even seeing any type of food id have to run to a bathroom and puke. now I'm 24 weeks almost 25 and gained one whole pound! lol I gained just what the baby weighs but my belly is noticeable and people believe I'm pregnant now.
Avatar f tn I've been the same way - 9 wks. My certified nurse midwife said that just eating what you can keep down is good enough (food, drink, & supplements). And as long as your weight doesn't drop down a lot then it's normal to not gain weight until the 2nd-3rd trimester. But obviously if there's any concerns then check with your doctor first.
Avatar f tn I lost weight in my first trimester during my first pregnancy. His pregnancy I didn't lose any but I didn't gain any until about 20 weeks.
Avatar f tn With my 1st pregnancy I lost 15 pounds in the first trimester due to morning sickness. My Obgyn told me not to worry. Baby is pulling in all the nutrients it needs and that is partly why you feel so miserable and lose weight sometimes. My daughter was born 7 pounds and healthy. I ended up gaining what I lost plus 20 by the end of my pregnancy. You and baby should be just fine! Hope you feel better though, morning sickness is so miserable.
Avatar f tn Yes, I suffered back pain in first trimester with my first child.
Avatar f tn ve weighed about 159 and have been maintaining that, which is a 29 pound difference from my pre pregnancy weight. I went to the doctor the other day and had lost 5 pounds. Is this okay for my third? I eat but I honestly am just not as hungry this last trimester like I was the others, probably mostly because I feel I hardly have any room for food. Anyone else lost weight in their third tri?

Avatar f tn I'm 10weeks pregnant and I'm losing weight. Theres a noticeable difference in my theighs my back and my stomach. I read that if the baby gets its nutrients from my fat its toxic to the baby. I'm doing all i can to eat. Eating has become a job to me because I'm so nauseous 24/7 i literally have to force feed myself.

Avatar f tn The nausea is still there just not as bad as the first trimester. My beggining weight was 182 but 70% of it was in my breats and thighs. Ive lost weight in my stomach on my sides (lovehandles). My stomach is growing and you can see the baby bump but if i continue to lose or maintain the weight im at now around my stomach will it effect the baby since supposedly im supposed to gain my 20 back and plus another 12 for it being the second trimester now?
