16467414 tn?1448304929 The doctor put on Losartan Potassium 50 mg. Since then I have been feeling nauseated and slightly dizzy. Are these symptoms normal with this medication? Any help will be appreciated.
Avatar f tn I am currently on Lisinopril to keep my BP down (I have Cardiomyopathy after going into CHF from a virus that went to my heart). I have had a cough which is a side effect of Lisinopril. My doctor just gave me a RX for Losartan but this med is more expensive by quite a bit. I haven't had any other problems with Lisinopril besides the cough and I am scared to change meds and take the chance of worse side effects.
Avatar n tn I am on Losartan 50 mg sice last few years, Sometime my BP goes berserk ranging from 150-160/90-105. I used to combine atenolo 25 mg and it used to be normal. Now since 5 days back I forgot to take Losartan at my usual time in morning, but took it in evening. What happened that my BP is not cominh down, I take metprolol 25 mg in morning and after an hour or so BP becomes more or less normal but start rising after 9pm and in the morning ranges the same as mentioned earlier.
Avatar m tn I had high blood pressure years ago, and after taking one or two medications with little success, I was given 25mg of Atenolol, which worked extremely well. Since then, the dose has been increased to 50mg, and that has done the trick--kept my blood pressure under 140/90. Recently though, I've been having an issue controlling my blood pressure. I felt really crappy a few months ago, and when I came home from a hike, my blood pressure was around 160/100.
Avatar m tn Is the Atenolol suitable, or should I request another beta blocker? Likewise, is there a better diuretic than Chlortalidone? I keep reading about Coreg and & Demadex. Are these better options? Cozaar: They initially wanted to put me on Lisinopril, but I was on that previously and I had a terrible, nagging cough the entire time. I've read that ACE Inhibitors are preferable to ARBs, though, when it comes to CHF.
Avatar f tn Hello, my guess would be Trazodone, Lorazepam, Temazepam and Tramadol Hcl.These are the ones on your list that may show up. Different types of tests check for different drugs, so it depends on what they are looking for. As long as you have a prescription, and tell them what you are on beforehand, there shouldn't be a problem anyway.
1035021 tn?1296820707 Hi people, I have anxiety disorder and hypertension, this both diagnosed and treated. I have some control now with my panic attacks and extreme anxiety, but the problem is not that, I just tell you that just for you to know some priors, 3 days ago I started to experience some kind of numbness in my right hand fingers (the first 3 starting from the right).
Avatar n tn I am currently taking Losartan 50mg in the morning ( 2 yrs) and Atenolol 25mg (12 years) in the evening. I am a jogger and have had no problems. I'm training for a half marathon and had a extreme low blood pressure occurrence 2 days ago. Both my BP specialist and my cardiologist want me off the Atenolol. But their suggestions are quick tapering. I'm on my second day and had BP problems for about 2 hrs this morning ...BP now is 135/65 HR 53. Any Suggestions ?
Avatar m tn I had a heart attack approx 2 years ago, I was on Metroplol for a while but my hands and feet were getting extremely cold so my internal medicine Dr changed to Losartan this Feb. Month or so ago i noticed skip bets while exercising. As time progressed my PVC's were occurring more frequently almost with any movement, it did scare the heck out of me, Went to ER and revisited my heart DR and he put me back on Atenolol approx. two weeks ago. I currently have the monitor on for a month.
Avatar m tn Unfortunately the HCV was not eliminated and when I ran across an article that indicated that losartan(Cozaar) a blood pressure medicine may reduce or eliminate fibrosis I asked my doctor to change on of my blood pressure medicines to it which he did, coincidently on that visit he detected some fibrosis by feeling the stiffness of my liver. The hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) are activated into myofibroblast-like cells that produce the fibrosis by angiotensin II.
Avatar f tn ve been diagmosed with hbp and my dr prescribed losartan 50mg. So far my bp is now in normal readings, used to be a 145/100 and sometimes higher. My only unresolved issue now is that I cant sleep. I thought my hpb had to do with, expected to be sleeping better once my bp was controlled, but its still a problem. Before I used to take benadryl to make me drowsy and I only take it if I had work the next day so I can have a full night of rest.
1330929 tn?1317277607 I was put on Atenolol 10 years ago for what the doctor said was paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia. I also have been a heavy drinker since I was 20 (I'm 32 now). I quit drinking 3 weeks ago and ever since, my heartrate has been slower than usual. While drinking I would take 50mg of Atenolol twice daily to keep my heartrate under 110bpm, with the medicine at rest my heartrate would be between 60-80bpm.
Avatar f tn Hallo there -anyone and everyone. Is there any reasons to prefer or take losartan above olmesartan or the olmesartan above losartan. Person taking these is african, 57 years, female and oh, my mother.
Avatar m tn others I do not. My meds are unchanged and include Losartan, atenolol, HCTZ, and Simvastatin. Any ideas?
Avatar m tn His averaged blood pressure is 146/80. He was placed on losartan potassium (50 mg) for 8 days but there is no change to his averaged blood pressure. Would you advice him continuing losartan or seek new drugs? Many thanks. Avatar m tn //www.drugs.com/sfx/losartan-side-effects.html Uncommonly, ear congestion and hearing loss occur. But you are describing hypersensitivity. Losartan is associated for some with tremor. I would wonder if the sound issue is not related to a bit of anxiety. I'm not really seeing anything in the literature to support what you describe with retards to sound being louder but sensory experiences can be affected whenever our nervous system is not regulated.
Avatar m tn My GP put me on Lisinopril last year but switched me to Losartan after the Lisinopril failed to help. The Losartan brought my BP down a lot with a 50 mg daily dose. I was down to 110/70 and even 100/65 at times. I even got light-headed when I stood up quickly. The GP said this was normal and good. He likes my BP to be well below 120/80. So far so good. I was getting the Losartan from Walgreens as a 30 day supply.
Avatar f tn t really helping the heart palpations) and have been prescribed Atenolol 25mg 1x daily for the heart palpitations. Now, Dr is adding Nifedipine 30mg 1x daily to try and lower blood pressure. Is it okay to take Atenolol 25 mg 1x daily, Lorsartan 100mg and the Nifedpine 30mgs? Isnt that a lot of "different types" of medications especially being recently (less than 1 year) post transplant? Is this safe? I do however need to have the high blood pressure addressed. Advice/help.
Avatar n tn I cannot remember if I took my Losartan today or not - 100 mg. should I take it?
Avatar m tn I was on losartan for a few months. I don't think that my bp was consistenlty high. I think what was going on was that it was very up and down and it was making me feel pretty bad. But losartan which is a third line for bp was the first thing that they put me on. And I don't think my bp was that bad. I have had elevated renin/aldosterone studies and low potassium in the past.
1008841 tn?1293598960 Has anyone heard about a study with Losartan, a BP drug, on people with HCV, with moderate Fibrosis? Its suppose to shrink them, so the liver can heal. I was wondering how I could get on a study like that? I'm Type1a, a non-responder.
Avatar m tn I have been on Losartan for approximately eight months come here recently I have found it very difficult to swallow my food and seems like he gets caught in my esophagus, yesterday at two different Meals I began to choke on my food I had to drink several glasses of water in order to get my food to go down with no issues. Could this be a side effect of Losartan?
Avatar n tn People often take sleeping meds and anti depressants that have hcv or are treating. I don't know a lot about the lisinoprill, but I read about a small study that Losartan (for high blood pressure) may reverse fibrosis. Your doctor should know about your hcv and your meds, especially if you are treating. http://ihealthbulletin.
Avatar n tn I stopped taking losartan September 8,still having symptoms. Been on losartan about 4 years. I have asked the dr. Could it be that,he said no. I stopped myself to see if it's the problem. I have a home blood pressure monitor & it's been in the120-128/78-82 range. Problem been going on about year..
