hello! I am a 30 year old recently diagnosed with PCOS. I have been feeling like garbage recently and have not been able to find a doctor who can help. I recently went through my lab results from September and see my Estradiol is <5.00 pg/mL. I am also on Lo Loestrin. Can the birth control be causing the very low numbers, my PCOS, something else? The numbers are those of someone in menopause, so it is a bit concerning. Any insight is appreciated!
I've not had any problems with Yaz or Loestrin 24. I'm on Loestrin right now because Yaz made me pretty low emotionally. However, I think because they are so low dose pills, they shouldn't cause such a problem.
I've heard bad thinkgs about Seasonal/ique, though. I dunno. I take Loestrin continiously and haven't had an issue, I don't see why you would bother with a pill specifically marketed as "less periods" when you can have them with any.
Has anyone ever switched from Loestrin 24 to Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo? Anybody ever gotten pregnant while on the "lo estrogen" pills? I switched from Loestrin to Ortho because I started not having periods AT ALL on the Loestrin and I had CRAZY PREGNANCY SYMPTOMS. I got a blood test but it was negative. Now I am on Ortho and am a little nervous because I've heard and read that some people have gotten pregnant on this pill. Any advice????
Hi! Loestrin is a very low dose pill, and sometimes after you have been on it for awhile, the lining of the uterus gets very thin and bleeding becomes irregular.
OR this could be a one time only thing, especially if you missed a pill or took one late.
I would tell my patient to wait and see and if it happens regularly, you may need to swtich pills for awhile.

I am now on Microgestin 1/20 Fe generic version of Loestrin. Anyway what does anyone know about this? Any major side effects I should be worried about...I was reading that it causes bigger breast, weight gain, and low sex drive...is that true for anyone else who has taken it?
with Hashimoto several yrs ago and have been on 88mcg of levothyroxine since. Over the past 6mos. I have been extremely exhausted and the typical low thyroid symptoms. I also have had severe flare ups in my neck where I have 3 levels fused as well as increased shoulder inflammation where I had surgery over a yr ago . Both surgeons told me they do not understand why I have such inflammation per mri and just inject me with steroids.
I've been on Loestrin 24 for four months now. the first 2 pill packs i had a regular period. The 3rd pill pack I had a little spotting but it wasnt a period at all. I took a pregnancy test and it was negative. Now with the fourth pill pack..I never got my period, not even a spot of blood which is weird and the past few days at least..ive been experiencing stomach cramps, alot of nausea, and breast tenderness. any ideas ?
I am a 21 year old female. 5'4'', 129 lbs. I eat a low fat diet and exercise daily, but I am on loestrin FE. Yesterday I noticed a feeling of stiffness in my ear and jaw that has continued through today. Is this indicative of a serious problem? Should I go to the ER?
Is this ever going to end someday? Should I finish the current pack and continue the next pack? I am taking ultra-low dose BCP. Lo Loestrin.
Okay so last Saturday I finished taking my Aviane (generic of orho cyclen lo) and had my 7 day break.
But.. 2 weeks before that I was in the hospital and forgot to take 2 pills two days in a row and got my period. So I got my period twice but the second time was much lighter.
I had sex last night and he came in me. I haven't taken any pills and I'm switching to Loestrin Fe which I start tomorrow. My question is..
Hello. I am on my 3rd year of being on Loestrin 24 FE and in the first month or two I had the regular spotting and breakthrough bleeding. However, in the past couple of months I have experienced spotting and breakthrough bleeding all over again and that is not normal for me. What could be going on? I take my pill at the same time daily and there haven't been any changes of lifestyle.
Hi, i have been on lo loestrin fe for 1 month. Today i am taking second brown pill, which is also the last one...i feel menstrual pain for a few days, but no menstruation. I am worried! Is pregnancy possible if i had intercourse with my bf (while i was on the pill) but he had never ejaculated inside? It is written that lo loestrin fe is protecting you from the first day if u are starting on the first day of your period. Thats how i did. But why is my period not coming?
I have been on lo loestrin fe for the past 4 months. This past month I had breakthrough bleeding. I've been told that breakthrough bleeding means that I am not protected anymore, but does that mean that my pills were not working for the entire month prior to breakthrough or just the time after that? Could I have gotten pregnant before breakthrough even if I had taken pills regularly?

Help - has anyone had a rash with Loestrin - I have been itching and have rash on stomache chest and back. I also experienced terrible depression that put me in a zombie state. I only used this drug for one week and my doctor took me off. Did anyone experience these symptoms???
I also suffer from central obesity, have striae in abdominal area, hirsutism and slightly increased testosterone and low transferrin. The low transferrin worries me because I remember being 10 years old and having a depression on my thumb nail. I had no idea what is was and I now think it could of been koilonychia. I am also always cold and I went to donate blood at 23 yr. old, and a needle stick to test for iron was given to me. I was told I had low Fe and could not give blood at that time.
I'm on birth control (lo loestrin fe) and was at the end of the pack. My period is scheduled Monday til Thursday. It didn't come on Monday and my boyfriend and I had unprotected sex. I've had very light bleeding Tuesday through today (Thursday), but I'm still a little worried.
Is it possible that I was able to conceive while on birth control and at the time I was supposed to get my period? (Keeping in mind that I took every pill at the same time every day)

I have been on Loestrin for nearly a year now. I take it continuously so I do not get a period. This has stopped the endo pain. I'm hoping that it is also preserving my fertility until we are ready to try again.
I do like Loestrin. I have had major depression and I feel fine on L. Sorry though no experience with Yaz. I think L is worth a try. It's different for everyone so you will only know by trying.
per bloodwork, I am only in perimenopause and am on day 5 of Lo Loestrin. Has anyone had success feeling better on this bcp and did it take a couple of cycles to really notice. I get these periodic heart palps and adrenaline rushes throughout the day. I'm still taking flaxseed oil and evening primrose to help control, but am really hoping the Lo Loestrin makes a difference. Has anyone done well taking bcp for their peri symptoms?
I've been on my bc (loestrin fe) for about 7 months now. I've never missed a pill but occasionally take it at a different time. Between 7:10 and 7:30. I know that that's alright but I go on and off with periods. Sometimes it starts with the white pills and sometimes the red and sometimes not at all. I also have bleeding during my second week for about 3 days. Is this normal? Could I be pregnant? Should I be worried?
