Loestrin low dose

Common Questions and Answers about Loestrin low dose

loestrin

Avatar n tn Hi! Loestrin is a very low dose pill, and sometimes after you have been on it for awhile, the lining of the uterus gets very thin and bleeding becomes irregular. OR this could be a one time only thing, especially if you missed a pill or took one late. I would tell my patient to wait and see and if it happens regularly, you may need to swtich pills for awhile. Good Luck!
Avatar f tn Another option to consider is the Paragard IUD. It doesn't have hormones and the only thing you might get is heavier periods/cramping--but this doesn't even happen to all women. The only thing about low dose birth controls is that you have to take them perfectly. There is no room to mess up, as they're very easy to fall pregnant on if you do.
Avatar f tn m on Loestrin right now because Yaz made me pretty low emotionally. However, I think because they are so low dose pills, they shouldn't cause such a problem. I've heard bad thinkgs about Seasonal/ique, though. I dunno. I take Loestrin continiously and haven't had an issue, I don't see why you would bother with a pill specifically marketed as "less periods" when you can have them with any.
Avatar f tn Is this ever going to end someday? Should I finish the current pack and continue the next pack? I am taking ultra-low dose BCP. Lo Loestrin.
Avatar f tn If you were my patient, I would advise you that it is fairly common for breakthrough bleeding to occur after several years of low dose pills. Sometimes the lining of the uterus becomes so thin it is almost "raw" and spotting can happen. In a case like that we will often increase the amount of estrogen a patient is taking for awhile--for instance we might suggest two pills per day instead of one, or go to a higher dose pill, for a short time, etc.
Avatar f tn But I wonder if it will ever go away or it just means my body is used to the dose now and I need a higher dose? Has anyone had this issue, and did it ever go away on its own? Also, if you go up the dose in birth control, does it make you gain more weight? Thanks for any input you can give!
Avatar m tn I have been on Loestrin for about 4 months now, true it is low in hormones but I am taking it continuously for Endometriosis so I haven't had any spotting at all. Loestrin itself means low in estrogen.
Avatar f tn I think they're confused. If you read the full prescribing information, it's the PILL that screws with the lamotrigine, not the other way around. It's not like a lot of other anticonvulsants. From http://epilepsy.med.nyu.edu/treatment/medications/lamotrigine "Lamotrigine has no effect on other seizure medicines. And unlike some other seizure medicines, it does not reduce the effectiveness of birth control pills.
Avatar f tn hello! I am a 30 year old recently diagnosed with PCOS. I have been feeling like garbage recently and have not been able to find a doctor who can help. I recently went through my lab results from September and see my Estradiol is <5.00 pg/mL. I am also on Lo Loestrin. Can the birth control be causing the very low numbers, my PCOS, something else? The numbers are those of someone in menopause, so it is a bit concerning. Any insight is appreciated!
Avatar f tn Has anyone ever switched from Loestrin 24 to Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo? Anybody ever gotten pregnant while on the "lo estrogen" pills? I switched from Loestrin to Ortho because I started not having periods AT ALL on the Loestrin and I had CRAZY PREGNANCY SYMPTOMS. I got a blood test but it was negative. Now I am on Ortho and am a little nervous because I've heard and read that some people have gotten pregnant on this pill. Any advice????
Avatar f tn I have been on Loestrin for nearly a year now. I take it continuously so I do not get a period. This has stopped the endo pain. I'm hoping that it is also preserving my fertility until we are ready to try again. I do like Loestrin. I have had major depression and I feel fine on L. Sorry though no experience with Yaz. I think L is worth a try. It's different for everyone so you will only know by trying.
Avatar f tn Hello, I've been on birth control since I was 15 (now 23) for ovarian cysts. About a year ago I switched pills from Loestrin 24 fe to Lo Loestrin 24 fe. Within the year I think I've had 2 periods (only lasting a day or so) and a few days of very light spotting. I do know this pill is the lowest dose of hormones you can have with a birth control pill. Is this normal?
Avatar f tn I would wait until you have missed your cycle. Are you on a low dose pill? BTW, I've been there done that and I was just fine. Good luck!
Avatar f tn Din mean to post yet but low dose of estrogen nd progesterin sry for spelling. i have my alarm set on ny phone to remind me daily so i dnt miss it. So far it has good effects just waiting for a period which doc said will b very light. I. did read bad reviews but what don't have bad reviews now a days everyone is different. But my doc said make sure i tare it daily since it does have the lowest dose its very easy to get pregnant if i skip days.
Avatar m tn I was on Loestrin 24 Fe for 5 months but my doctor switched me to Lo Loestrin 24 Fe because she thought I needed a lower dose, as I kept getting recurring yeast infections. The first month that I was on Lo Loestrin I got my period, very short and very light for about 2-3 days. This month I delayed my period by a week because I was going on vacation. So when it got to the placebo pill I just took a week of "active pills" from another pack.
Avatar f tn I am currently on birth control (loestrin 24) but I have been taking this pill for months and have not had these kind of symptoms with it before.
Avatar f tn Hi, I have been taking ortho-tricyclen lo for 4+ years and originally loved the pill because I had previously been on loestrin ( a lower dose pill that caused spotting). However, over the past few years I believe that ortho-tricylen has caused me to gain weight and feel extra anxious. My pill pack is ending this sunday and I was toying with the idea of stopping my birth control all together to see if the symptoms were indeed from ortho-tricylen.
Avatar f tn I am now on Microgestin 1/20 Fe generic version of Loestrin. Anyway what does anyone know about this? Any major side effects I should be worried about...I was reading that it causes bigger breast, weight gain, and low sex drive...is that true for anyone else who has taken it?
Avatar f tn with Hashimoto several yrs ago and have been on 88mcg of levothyroxine since. Over the past 6mos. I have been extremely exhausted and the typical low thyroid symptoms. I also have had severe flare ups in my neck where I have 3 levels fused as well as increased shoulder inflammation where I had surgery over a yr ago . Both surgeons told me they do not understand why I have such inflammation per mri and just inject me with steroids.
Avatar f tn Hi, I am on lo loestrin fe and i have been on it continuously for about two years and on the birth control I stopped getting my period. On Sunday I was sick and threw up for a while but it was later in the day at least 6 hours after i took my birth control pill. The next day I had vaginal spotting/bleeding and still took my dose at the normal time. It has been three days and I am still lightly spotting. Is there a problem or something I can do?
Avatar f tn I've been on Loestrin 24 for four months now. the first 2 pill packs i had a regular period. The 3rd pill pack I had a little spotting but it wasnt a period at all. I took a pregnancy test and it was negative. Now with the fourth pill pack..I never got my period, not even a spot of blood which is weird and the past few days at least..ive been experiencing stomach cramps, alot of nausea, and breast tenderness. any ideas ?
Avatar n tn I am a 21 year old female. 5'4'', 129 lbs. I eat a low fat diet and exercise daily, but I am on loestrin FE. Yesterday I noticed a feeling of stiffness in my ear and jaw that has continued through today. Is this indicative of a serious problem? Should I go to the ER?
Avatar n tn I just started a new birth control pill called lo loestrin fe. I was on a higher dose birth control but having some side effects so i switched to this one. This was my first month of taking this pill and have gone through the entire pack and did not get my period (i am 2 days into the new pack). I am not sexually active so I am not pregnant but is there a reason for not getting it? Is this bad or is it because its a new pill?
