17501880 tn?1457282730 12pm on Saturday March 5th my boyfriend and I experienced a broken condom. I have been taking Lo Loestrin for about a month now and am on my second row on my second package. I have been researching since, that I should be able to take 2 Lo Loestrin pills and that they work as an emergency contraceptive. Can someone please confirm with me on whether or not I can.
Avatar n tn ive been on loestrin 24 fe for about 2 weeks now i started it on a sunday which happen to be the first day of my period that lasted 7 days to end to start with the breakthough bleeding 2 days later and it has yet to stop any idean how long this is going to last i cant begin to think about bleeding for months stright.
1674462 tn?1304114750 ve been on the ortho series until I was 32 and the Loestrin (24 and 28) up until my pregnancy and continued it after pregnancy. Both made a big difference. Only now am I feeling more 'inflammatory' like pain. But they said I definately have adhesions (ovary wrapped behind my uterus). I possibly might begin menopause (hot flashes). But all I can say is that birth control pills definately gave me a life. I would try them. Never been on Yaz. You can always get off of them.
Avatar n tn just to share...i never had acne until i started taking birth control. I have taken 2 different kinds of BC and hated them both...Cyclessa and Ortho-tricyclen lo. I'm getting ready to try Loestrin and will let you know how it goes. Have you ever considered seeing a dermatologist instead? I think that is the way to go. I was prescribed a benzoyl peroxide wash and clindamycin phosphate roll-on and it worked great. I was on it for like a year or so and hardly ever break out anymore.
Avatar f tn I've not had any problems with Yaz or Loestrin 24. I'm on Loestrin right now because Yaz made me pretty low emotionally. However, I think because they are so low dose pills, they shouldn't cause such a problem. I've heard bad thinkgs about Seasonal/ique, though. I dunno. I take Loestrin continiously and haven't had an issue, I don't see why you would bother with a pill specifically marketed as "less periods" when you can have them with any.
Avatar m tn Wednesday morning, the 3rd, I woke up and when I went to the bathroom I thought I had started my period. There was a little bit of blood it was red and a little in the toilet so I used a tampon.(Although I wasn't supposed to start until around the 12th) I just got prescribed birth control and my doctor said if you take it on the first day of your period it becomes effective right away so later on that evening I decided to take my first pill.
Avatar f tn s experiences have been in taking this. Is it effective? Are you also on birth control? I think my anxiety is caused by taking Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo. Has anyone had a similar experience?
Avatar f tn I started the birth control le loestrin fe at the beginning of August (but I didn't wait until after my period came to begin taking the pills) I haven't had my period in those last four months. I had some weird symptoms like nausea and breast tenderness and discharge from late September to late October but not so much anymore. Is it normal to miss your period for that long after starting birth control or specifically lo loestrin fe?
Avatar m tn i want to know if retro-screening very effective for HIV test.
Avatar f tn I have been on Loestrin for nearly a year now. I take it continuously so I do not get a period. This has stopped the endo pain. I'm hoping that it is also preserving my fertility until we are ready to try again. I do like Loestrin. I have had major depression and I feel fine on L. Sorry though no experience with Yaz. I think L is worth a try. It's different for everyone so you will only know by trying.
Avatar f tn So I’m on Lo Loestrin fe for about 2 months now, I was on Nexplanon before. Anyways about 2 1/2 weeks ago I was on Metronidazole and had unprotected sex on the 5th day, the nurse told me to use condoms for 8 days. I also missed my last “active white pill” (before 2 Placebo pills) Friday 3/9, had unprotected sex and didn’t realize till Monday. I took my Wednesday pill 3/14 about 17 hours late. Is it possible I can become pregnant?
Avatar f tn t remember the fatigue or nausea setting in until I was about 8 weeks pregnant. I am currently on birth control (loestrin 24) but I have been taking this pill for months and have not had these kind of symptoms with it before.
Avatar n tn how long has it been? not sure but i think plan b can be taken up to 72 hours after sex. amoxicillin can make birth control LESS effective, it doesn't completely cancel it out though. also have you checked to see if you were ovulating the day you had sex? an easy way to figure that out is go to babycenter.com and there is an ovulation calculator. when are you supposed to get your next period? i would just wait it out..

Avatar f tn How long does the itching last for?
Avatar f tn I was on loestrin birth control for 2 weeks. I had unprotected sex, and he finished in me. I took my pill late the next day and started spotting. I took my pill for 2 more days (a total of 3 days after we had sex), but since I was still spotting, I just decided to stop taking the pill and have my period. Is it possible that I could be pregnant? My period was very light.
Avatar f tn Unless your hormones were way out of whack to start with, before you started the Loestrin, your hormonal levels should not be affected long term after taking BC. I would recommend a thorough physical with your doc (if you haven't already), that includes bloodwork, checking for things like thyroid imbalances, anemia, glucose levels.
Avatar f tn ve put up since I started taking birth control ( Loestrin 24 Fe), any suggestions of types of diets? What should I avoid? What food promotes weight loss? Please help me, thank youu so much!
Avatar f tn I've recently gone from 50mg Sertraline to 100mg sertraline about a week ago. Transition was relatively smooth apart from slight nausea. I have severe social anxiety,I feel like everyone is judging me. Causes me to be socially awkward and panic.ive decided on my own accord to take 200mg a day although should only be on 100mg. How long until I will feel socially comfortable ? Surely can't take 6 weeks like it initially does when starting anti depressant.
Avatar f tn Hi Im currently taking Loestrin 20, this is my 3rd day! Im kinda nervous, the last time i took the pill was about 4 years ago! Anyway, can someone please give me some advice/info about this pill? Ive read that it is a weaker pill?
Avatar f tn There's no evidence that lamotrigine decreases the effectiveness of the pill. The interaction is that the estrogen in the pill lowers your lamotrigine levels, which means you'll need a higher dose than you would off the pill. If you're really worried about pregnancy, consider a copper IUD or just use condoms with the birth control. I am on 200 mg lamotrigine and birth control pills right now.
Avatar n tn Hi! I'm traveling across the country to see my boyfriend this weekend, after not having seen him for two whole months. We're in a long distance relationship and we usually only get to see each other once a month for a few days at a time. Needless to say, this is a really special occasion for us! Unfortunately, my period is expected to arrive anywhere from Sunday through Tuesday, threatening to put a damper on some uh, plans!
Avatar n tn Hi! If your girlfriend was my patient, I would recommend a repeat pregnancy test in one week UNLESS she has her normal period. I would then test weekly for up to 4-6 weeks. If she has not resumed her periods by then and isn't pregnant, she should check with her doctor. If she is pregnant, she should also check with her doctor, of course. It is possible that the pills delayed her ovulation and that is the reason for the delayed period.
