loestrin how long until it works

This is day is day 3 of the pills and i was wondering how long until it starts working? i am not in nearly as much pain as I was, but the pain with urination is still there slightly and get worse at night.

I dont think birthcontrol works that way but i wouldnt know. But as long as you were taking your bc daily and did he ejaculate in the condom before it broke? Even then the odds are pretty slim.

The Loestrin helps me but if I miss a pill or am late I get a light period. Today I noticed more pelvic pain while I exercised. Made me think of how acupuncture has helped in the past. Can not afford visits. But if I am better about the Loestrin is helps. I buy nearly 4.5 months worth from a Canadian website for $75.

ve been on the ortho series until I was 32 and the Loestrin (24 and 28) up until my pregnancy and continued it after pregnancy. Both made a big difference. Only now am I feeling more 'inflammatory' like pain. But they said I definately have adhesions (ovary wrapped behind my uterus). I possibly might begin menopause (hot flashes). But all I can say is that birth control pills definately gave me a life. I would try them. Never been on Yaz. You can always get off of them.

just to share...i never had acne until i started taking birth control. I have taken 2 different kinds of BC and hated them both...Cyclessa and Ortho-tricyclen lo. I'm getting ready to try Loestrin and will let you know how it goes. Have you ever considered seeing a dermatologist instead? I think that is the way to go. I was prescribed a benzoyl peroxide wash and clindamycin phosphate roll-on and it worked great. I was on it for like a year or so and hardly ever break out anymore.

I just went back on Abilify since Geodon sent me into another world. I took it before and it worked but I gained weight so they took me off. I can't remember how long it was before it started to make a dent in my BP. I've been manic and this is the 1st time this has happened. Maybe it was the meds? I'm scared because I'm technically not medicated until the Abilify kicks in. Anyone know from experience?

I have been taking Cryselle (thats the generic name - I think it may be the Lo Loestrin but check with you dr). I have been on it for a few years now and haven't had any problems with weight. I may get a zit here and there but NOTHING near a breakout by any means.

I had some weird symptoms like nausea and breast tenderness and discharge from late September to late October but not so much anymore. Is it normal to miss your period for that long after starting birth control or specifically lo loestrin fe?

Thanks a lot, Annie. I wasn't sure when the cysts dissolve. I thought oral contraceptives suppressed ovulation but I'm not sure how long it takes for a body to adjust to new pills and stop ovulating. I've only been on them for a month. I appreciate your input very much. I'll be sure to ask the doc next week. My visit with her will answer lots of questions.

I've been thinking about similar things. My doctor put me on the minipill, which doesn't seem to have the same risks for older patients. I'm not sure that I'll take it until menopause, but for now I feel good about it.

You won't be "normal" again this way. How people react to medications that affect the brain differ quite a bit by the person. Taking too little for you doesn't work. Taking too much also doesn't work and can make you a lot worse than you are now. Thinking if some is good more is better isn't how drugs work. It isn't how your brain works.

I have heard that birth control pills can cause anxiety and depression in some women. You have been off of it for a long time though so I really doubt what you're going through is from the pill. Have you been under a lot of stress since last Summer?

I had some spotting but I have received my period twice since then. It has been a different type of blood though - mostly brown and quite light, until the middle when it is extremely heavy. I have also gained a good 10-15 pounds since starting the pill up, which I have read is a common side-effect for Loestrin. The effects from the pill have me thinking that I am pregnant, even though everything else states that I am not.

Hi Im currently taking Loestrin 20, this is my 3rd day! Im kinda nervous, the last time i took the pill was about 4 years ago! Anyway, can someone please give me some advice/info about this pill? Ive read that it is a weaker pill?

I was only on Loestrin 20 for 5 days, and stopped it because i was feeling sick, tired and headachey with it, and that was just 5 days whilst on it, i spoke to my GP about it, and she told me it was normal, and just getting into my system! So I have decided to start Loestrin 20 again next month, i will keep in touch and let you know how it goes!

She gave me a prescription for Loestrin and said I could start and stop taking it any time. However, I forgot to ask her about when the best time to start on them is! See, the reason why I'm not on any hormonal birth control is because they usually make me very bloated and moody. Is pregnancy possible if i had intercourse with my bf (while i was on the pill) but he had never ejaculated inside? It is written that lo loestrin fe is protecting you from the first day if u are starting on the first day of your period. Thats how i did. But why is my period not coming?

I started Lo Loestrin Fe oral birth control pill on January 14, 2014 after being off of it since Thanksgiving of 2013. Previously I had constant break-though bleeding (more like a period- for even 2 and a half weeks) and cramps. I switched to Microgestin and that made me so sick I stopped, and then restarted Lo Loestrin Fe. I have taken it everyday and have never missed a pill.
