Common Questions and Answers about Loestrin generic name

loestrin

Avatar f tn I have been taking Cryselle (thats the generic name - I think it may be the Lo Loestrin but check with you dr). I have been on it for a few years now and haven't had any problems with weight. I may get a zit here and there but NOTHING near a breakout by any means.
Avatar n tn I have been taking Loestrin (generic) for about a year. My doctor gave me the brand as a sample to save some money. I am in week three of the first pack. My period started yesterday. What can cause this early bleeding?
Avatar f tn I liked it better then Loestrin, since while on Loestrin I had breakthrough bleeding every single day. (So annoying.) But even with Femcon, I had breakthrough during the third week, but I was reading that a lot of women get breakthrough bleeding during the first couple of months.
Avatar n tn So like I said, this is aparently normal when on Loestrin. Im going to go on the generic of Loestrin, Junel Fe, which worked for me in the past and I think its 21 days of the pill and than 7 days of the "period" part. As much as I dread my period, it's a reassuring thing.
Avatar f tn I am now on Microgestin 1/20 Fe generic version of Loestrin. Anyway what does anyone know about this? Any major side effects I should be worried about...I was reading that it causes bigger breast, weight gain, and low sex drive...is that true for anyone else who has taken it?
Avatar f tn I was taking to Loestrin Fe for a while. I took it in the morning with water. I seemed to have a little bit of heartburn, but after I ate something it got better. I also was diagnosed with Endo. I had some problems with spotting for a while with Loestrin Fe so my Dr. switched me to a different pill. It's a generic version with more hormones.
1134609 tn?1269272200 ----I stabilized completely last summer and I was on the brand name version of the medication. When I switched over to the generic, I started having problems and had to increased the dose from 900mgs to 1600mgs over the space of a few months. Any changes in the dosages over this time dropped me into a deep depression and I HAD to drop the dosage many times because it was agitating me. I just assumed it was because I was adjusting to the medication.
Avatar f tn So, I started taking Lo Loestrin Fe June 2nd. Also, I feel like I should mention this is the first time I've ever been on birth control. So this is start of week 7. And since July 7th or so, I've gone between spotting to regular period bleeding. (Not that i bleed very heavy at all, but still.) And along with that, I'm cramping worse than ever. Also, it's made me the moodiest most emotional person since the second week of taking it.
Avatar f tn Hi! Im 21...on the birth control "Junel" which is generic for Loestrin 24. I had my period September 21..and recently changed to Junel 3 months ago. I did not have a period in October and have taken several pregnancy tests. Then this past week when i was supposed to have my november period, i only had some brown discharge and its not consistent..just at some point everyday. I have not taken a pregnancy test since this has occurred.
1243620 tn?1274790697 1. How tall are you? If your BMI is less than 10% that may be why you aren't having your period. 2. Between tricyclin and yasmin, tricyclin will probably make for worse "moon fluctuation" because it is tri-phasic, which means it has 3 different levels of hormone depending on what week your are on. yasmin has the same level all 3 active weeks. However, if you are going to choose a low-dose mono-phasic pill there is no reason to jump straight to yasmin.
Avatar f tn Hi everyone, I'm usually on the Maternal and Child Health forum because I had a baby girl last year. But my question is more about women's health so, here I am :) I'm on birth control pills called Tri-sprintec. It's the generic of Ortho Tri-cyclen. I stopped taking them for a little while partly because my partner and I really have no time to be intimate and it's hard for me to remember to take them everyday. Anyhow, I started taking them again two months ago.
Avatar m tn Hi. I'm switching from Loestrin 24 FE to Gildess 1.5/30. Will I need to use a backup birth control method when I make this switch? If so, for how long? And will going from only taking 4 placebo pills per month to 7 due to packaging differences make my chances of getting pregnant greater? As much detail as you can give me would be greatly appreciated, I'm freaking out.
Avatar f tn Okay so last Saturday I finished taking my Aviane (generic of orho cyclen lo) and had my 7 day break. But.. 2 weeks before that I was in the hospital and forgot to take 2 pills two days in a row and got my period. So I got my period twice but the second time was much lighter. I had sex last night and he came in me. I haven't taken any pills and I'm switching to Loestrin Fe which I start tomorrow. My question is..
Avatar f tn what is a generic drug?
Avatar n tn 0 down to 0.
Avatar n tn Actually, both of those are generics for the brand names Loestrin and Microgestin. Generics all have their own names but from a chemical standpoint, the active ingredients are identical to the name brand. Where Junel and Blisovi differ is just in the inactive ingredients.
Avatar f tn Yes it's totally legal. If you want more information there's a guy on the internet who outlines the process, whether you travel abroad or order online. He actually wrote a book and started a blog on it. He also started a buyer's club but no need to go that route. His name is Greg Jefferys, google his name for more information.
Avatar m tn I recently started taking Loestrin 24. I started experiencing light bleeding during sex which lasts for a day or 2 then stops, but then occurs again the next time. It only happens during/after sex. I've never had this happen before. There was nothing abnormal when I had my check up and was given the prescription. Has anyone ever heard of this happening with this brand?
Avatar f tn Has anyone ever switched from Loestrin 24 to Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo? Anybody ever gotten pregnant while on the "lo estrogen" pills? I switched from Loestrin to Ortho because I started not having periods AT ALL on the Loestrin and I had CRAZY PREGNANCY SYMPTOMS. I got a blood test but it was negative. Now I am on Ortho and am a little nervous because I've heard and read that some people have gotten pregnant on this pill. Any advice????
538782 tn?1213809348 I'm new to this website. Question, I'm soon to be taking my third dose of clomid. I haven't picked up my prescription yet but, i'm lost.. I don't know whether to take the generic or name brand. Ive been taken the generic(clomiphene citrate) for the past two cycles with no luck.. Dr said he would rather me be on the brand name. It is more expensive. I don't know what to do.
Avatar n tn My question concerns Synthroid. On Dec 04, 2006 at 12:00AM, Mark Lupo, M.D. said in answer to a question: "Levoxyl is another brand -- there is no advantage to Synthroid. Protecting the brand has advantages over generic regarding consistency of levels. the generic is levothyroxine". Huh? What on earth does that answer mean? "Protecting"? "consistency of levels?
Avatar n tn What is the generic name, chemical name, classification and contraindications for Lyvoxil?
Avatar f tn I have switched from being on nortrel 1/35 for about a year now (because of side effects), to a triphasic estrostep generic. I am concerned about the innitial effectiveness of the new pill because instead of starting at 35 mcg of estrogen I am starting on 20 mcg (will my body be used to the higher dose and cause me to ovulate)? I started the triphasic pack at the time that I would have started a new pack of my old pills ( on time after inactive week).
Avatar f tn ve taken, both, generic levothyroxine (T4) and liothyronine (T3), as well, as brand name Synthroid and Cytomel. I did better on on generic levo than I did on Synthyroid... I've been taking generic liothyronine for over 5 yrs and have done just as well as I did on Cytomel. I don't think you'll have any difficulty, with generic T3, but if you do, you can always go back to Cytomel.
