I am going to schedule to have the Implanon removed. I had considered both of the IUD's and am not comfortable with the idea. I have family history of breast cancer and ovarian cancer so birth control with high estrogen really isn't an option for me either. I will probably end up on birth control pills because my doctor doesn't recommend the mini pill which I loved when I was breastfeeding.

I have an ovarian cyst with a slightly elevated CA-125 of 52. I am booked in to have a laparascopic cystectomy in 3 weeks. There is a history of ovarian and breast cancer on my mother's side of the family. I have had two failed IVF attempts and this cyst was discovered during the 3rd IVF attempt which has now been abandoned. I have had no symptoms and would not have know about the cyst if it wasn't for the IVF down regulation scan.

It comparatively has lesser side effects and light menstrual cycles and less risk of endometrial and ovarian cancer. When taken as directed it is almost 92-99.7% effective. Whether a particular pill will cause side effects or not cannot be predicted. The response varies in every woman.If you are doubtful contact your gynecologist and discuss your concerns. per bloodwork, I am only in perimenopause and am on day 5 of Lo Loestrin. Has anyone had success feeling better on this bcp and did it take a couple of cycles to really notice. I get these periodic heart palps and adrenaline rushes throughout the day. I'm still taking flaxseed oil and evening primrose to help control, but am really hoping the Lo Loestrin makes a difference. Has anyone done well taking bcp for their peri symptoms?

t had my period in those last four months. I had some weird symptoms like nausea and breast tenderness and discharge from late September to late October but not so much anymore. Is it normal to miss your period for that long after starting birth control or specifically lo loestrin fe?

The first month that I was on Lo Loestrin I got my period, very short and very light for about 2-3 days. This month I delayed my period by a week because I was going on vacation. So when it got to the placebo pill I just took a week of "active pills" from another pack. However, I just finished my placebo pills (inactive pills) for the month and I have not gotten my period.

If I was I would be 2 weeks and 4 days now but I have no breast tenderness and bloating has always been a problem for me, I do get some pain but I associated it with having bad gas.

I liked it better then Loestrin, since while on Loestrin I had breakthrough bleeding every single day. (So annoying.) But even with Femcon, I had breakthrough during the third week, but I was reading that a lot of women get breakthrough bleeding during the first couple of months.

I am two weeks into my first pack of Lo Loestrin and I had unprotected sex about 5 weeks ago. I had awful cramps and some bleeding today but it stopped. Is this normal?

I started Lo Loestrin Fe oral birth control pill on January 14, 2014 after being off of it since Thanksgiving of 2013. Previously I had constant break-though bleeding (more like a period- for even 2 and a half weeks) and cramps. I switched to Microgestin and that made me so sick I stopped, and then restarted Lo Loestrin Fe. I have taken it everyday and have never missed a pill.

Help - has anyone had a rash with Loestrin - I have been itching and have rash on stomache chest and back. I also experienced terrible depression that put me in a zombie state. I only used this drug for one week and my doctor took me off. Did anyone experience these symptoms???

Hello. I am on my 3rd year of being on Loestrin 24 FE and in the first month or two I had the regular spotting and breakthrough bleeding. However, in the past couple of months I have experienced spotting and breakthrough bleeding all over again and that is not normal for me. What could be going on? I take my pill at the same time daily and there haven't been any changes of lifestyle.

I am on Loestrin 24 and had the same issue. I also have cramps the week before, during, and after my period. I have cramps for like three weeks out of the month. They seem to be getting worse too. And I am crazy emotional. Do you have any other side effects?

I have recently been put on LoEstrin for Endometriosis, and as I was advised have been doing the self breast exams. I have noticed that my left breast has become so tender that I can barely complete the self exam. There is one area in particular that feels more sensitive than the rest of the breast, but I can't really press on it, and can't really feel around to tell if there is a lump because it hurts too much.

I went to my gyno and she checked out my breast and felt some dense tissue. So I had a breast ultrasound and showed a mass that is benign..I changed BCP to one that has less estrogen in it. I also cut out caffeine, soda and meat to experiment with the pain. I haven't been eating much meat only if it is free of hormones and pesticides especailly beef..which I rarely eat. I found that switching over too the lower dose estrogen pill really helped.

i was put on the birthcontrol called loestrin. ive been on loestrin for a little over 6 months now and all of a sudden one day i couldnt have sex anymore because it hurt so much. as time passed this pain went away but now as of today just him inserting it for one second and then all of a sudden ever since it has hurt to pee.why is this?

Hi there, I am 36 years old and like that when on my LoEstrin Fe birth control pill that I do not have a period and hardly any cramps. I bleed heavy and have lots of cramps and symptoms when I am not on the pill. But looking at the risks of clots esp. if you smoke and are over 35 etc got me thinking. I do not smoke but is if safe to take birth control pills until menopause? That's a lot of years past the age of 35.

I was taking Loestrin Fe and had alot of spotting the first month (not necessarily while having sex). I also had more spotting in the third month. I told my doctor & she said that the hormones were too low for me. I would let your doctor know and see if there might be a better one out there for you.

I switched from Loestrin to Ortho because I started not having periods AT ALL on the Loestrin and I had CRAZY PREGNANCY SYMPTOMS. I got a blood test but it was negative. Now I am on Ortho and am a little nervous because I've heard and read that some people have gotten pregnant on this pill. Any advice????
