Avatar n tn rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, and osteoarthritis of the knees, hands and hips. People who have stomach issues from taking anti-inflammatories by mouth can bypass that problem with Voltaren gel. Endo Pharmaceuticals, the maker of Voltaren 1% gel, is the sole supplier and they have released a statement that Voltaren gel is on back order and they cannot estimate a release date. Hmm.
Avatar n tn s cold so my bones ache a little, I have severe arthritis. But I took some Tylenol. No pain meds for me! 13 days and counting. As far as the Xanax goes.... I'm struggling a little. My fingers tingle and I just stay so tense I give myself bad headaches. I WAS prescribed 2ng/4x a day. I have been taking 1mg/4x a day lately. (I take at breakfast, lunch, supper, and bedtime). At breakfast this morning I only took half a mg! So I'm trying. Slowly but surely!
Avatar n tn Can a prescribed Lidoderm/ Lidocaine Patch 5% give u a pain pill buzz? Ive watched some of my friends go thru bad DTs and eat patches that were suppose to only be applied. I get Lidoderm Patches and have been keeping it a secret just incase. I don't wanna get robbed cuz they really help with my pain. I need to know if one of them ever find my patch and eat it or use it... will they get any kind of buzz from it?
82861 tn?1333453911 Arthritis isn't my primary pain problem (say that three times fast!) but it's really interfering in my life now. It's not so bad in Summer, but the other 8 months out of the year are pretty nasty. My hips allow me to sleep for maybe 4 hours if I'm lucky. The rest of the night is toss and turn and try to at least doze. It took a good 3 hours just to get moving without a limp this morning.
Avatar f tn Lidoderm patches (non-opoid). My husband just broke two toes...I cut them in strips and wrap around his toes. He said it reduces the pain dramatically. Voltaren Gel (non-opoid). The gel is used primarily for arthritis etc. I used on my shoulders because I have arthritis and bone spurs and within an hour of starting work I'll be in agony if I don't use some. These are the two things that I'm going to be relying heavily on so I can stay off the opoids (8 days clean now yay).
Avatar m tn The Neurologists prescribed me Medrol Dosepak and some Lidoderm patches. Im not big on taking medicines, not even tylenol unless I have to. When reading up on Medrol Dosepaks, I saw that its used to treat arthritis and many other things as a steroid. One thing that caught my eye was this... "ยท Do not stop taking Medrol Dosepak suddenly if you have been taking it for a few weeks. You may need a gradual reduction in dosage before you stop taking this medication. " http://www.
728965 tn?1266373645 s probably a combination of things going on...your sciatica nerve, the fibro and there could be a bit of arthritis as well. I have breakthrough pain frequently, esp. when the weather is cold. It seems to upset the neuropathy, even though i'm inside and relatively warm. If it continues, please have it checked by your physician. I hope you feel better soon. Take care.
Avatar f tn Is anyone out there using lidoderm patches for back and/or neck pain? My neurosurgeon just prescribed them for me--they're a topical anesthetic patch. I tried one, it seemed to help briefly. I've been taking Lyrica for about a month, trying to taper off hydrocodone (after 7 months of steady use), and wondering why I have not seen these lidoderm patches mentioned by anyone in any of the back pain boards I've looked at. Looking for input on this. Thanks.
Avatar f tn t heard anyone say they tried Lidoderm patches-they work well for any part of your body you are in pain, and you can cut the patches into smaller ones if you want. They are only made up of lidocaine (numbing) for surface pain, muscle pain, any pain. You wear up to 3 for no more that 12hrs and then take a 12hr break. Only one bad thing is they don't stick well, I have to use heavy duty med tape, but they are worth it. Plus, they are 235.
563571 tn?1232491190 Do any or many of you use Lidoderm patches for pain? I used them some before getting Trimadol and still think about using them along with the Trimadol, but have some concerns. For several days I used them on hip, leg and knee (by instructions for number of patches and length of time) and did get some relief; however, my calf is swollen and very, very numb to the touch, but also burning badly.
934553 tn?1275274379 Hi, a lot of people benefit from the Lidoderm patches. I hope it helps. I completely understand about life consisting only of work and sleep. That doesn't make much of a life. That exquisite sensitivity to light touch is called allodynia. Often a firm touch is tolerable, but the light brushing of clothes or a light touch from another person is unbearable. Seems backward, but it is common. Another addition that can help the Cymbalta is a low-dose of amiltrityline at night.
Avatar f tn Does anyone have experience with Lidoderm Pain Patches? I use three per 12 hour period along with oxycodone, tramadol, neurontin and flexeril for pain. All the talk about Fentanyl has me concerned. BTW I am so thankful for this forum, whether or not one posts one can gain so much valuable information without fear of judgement. Kudos to sandee for keeping it going and thanx to everyone for straight up honesty in your replies to questions.
1182304 tn?1349305951 Just wondering if many on here have tried the Lidoderm patch? I have actually found it to help take off the sharp edges of pain in my back. I guess some insurances per my doc are kinda against it for anything other then for shingle pain, but my insurance did approve it for my chronic back pain.
Avatar m tn The Lidoderm patch is awesome....so is Voltaren Gel which will help your arthritis (the reason I use it). Another thing is the drawing out of fluid....I had a non-invasive knee surgery 6 years ago and it helped a LOT....I still have arthritis in that knee but the pain reduced by over 75%. I was off my feet for two days....one month of rehab....and I was off my cane and I am still off my cane unless I am walking on uneven ground. Acupuncture is another route you can go.
Avatar n tn Noven Pharmaceuticals wants to come out with one as well, but their being tied up by Endo and a bunch of FDA nonsense. This is a more recent article about Watson: http://www.empr.
Avatar f tn Lidoderm Patches (Rx Only or doctor sample) work better for me and 5% Lidocaine Cream (you can find online) is awesome! Hope this helps.
Avatar n tn I have lower back pain and my mom gave me a lidoderm patch 5%..can I use it along with lisinopril/hctz 20/25 and bystolic 10mg?
Avatar f tn He also had me putting 10 drops of pennsaid on my elbow 3x a day and lidoderm patches(which never stay on) but yesturday he switched it to the voltaren gel and told me I should get a cortisone shot. At last my question, is the shot going to help? I have been taking all these drugs and putting on all this oil/gel and I am still in pain. I'm not sure if my neck is the root of my problem or something else. It seems odd that it keeps switching to different joints.
Avatar n tn I have had MRIs which indicate fluid in my left thigh of undetermined cause, slight degenerative disk disease in L4-L5, and arthritis in my left hip. I had an EMG that was abnormal in that there were no responses in my legs, whatever that means. I am frustrated that a local neurologist and an orthopedist have not been able to help me and am developing quite a low quality of life. I am working full time but it difficult to get through the day.
Avatar f tn she developed corneal melt. The typical causes have been ruled out, rheumatoid arthritis, etc. My online readings indicate corneal melt is often a symptom of the herpes virus - this may be relevant since my sister had several genital warts removed by a cancer specialist on a few occasions. "Cancer" was not evident as she wasn't treated with radiation or chemo; she merely has the warts removed and examined by the cancer specialist as needed.
15254172 tn?1439477225 I have mentioned before that I have fibormylgia and arthritis. I quite taking my meds, hydrocodone 7.5/325, flexril. I have been clean for 6 days. Not much but it's something. I wasn't having to bad of pain until yesterday. I feel like my back has completely given out. I tried to stay active to get through everything the first four days and might have over done it. Usually I would take my meds but of course can't.
Avatar f tn m hoping someone can shed some light on this for me. As some of you know, my main complaints have been pain, mostly arthritis pain along with fibromyalgia pain, and RSD pain, which came after 9 surgeries on my hand, which ultimately failed. I've been on a ton of medications over the past several years. Since last June I've been on the Fentanyl patch, 75 mcg every 48 hours, oxycodone 30 mg. 1 to 1.5 pills every 4 hours, 800 mg.
Avatar m tn The major causes of peripheral neuropathy are diabetes mellitus, Vitamin B deficiencies, specially B12, Hypothyroidism, alcoholism, some inherited disorders, diseases like Guillian Barre syndrome, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, kidney and liver diseases. The cause is rarely ascertained. Treatment is symptomatic in most cases. You may enquire with your doctor if all the above causes have been ruled out.
363110 tn?1340920419 You might need to look for a pain management clinic then. You scoliosis and arthritis may be the culprit for your pain, or perhaps you are experiencing muscle pain. You just don't know, these tests do not test for pain. This is all based on your word to the doctor. If your not being treated well with this doctor, find a different one who will. It's a very long process. Good luck, I wish you all the best.
