I am about to start Rocephin 2gr IM q 24hrs reconstituted in Lidocaine and wonder if anyone has had any experience with 21 days of treatment? Initially my doc wanted me to have the PICC line for three weeks, however I asked that to be changed to intramuscular injections instead, as I participate in contact sports, and hence would run the risk of dislodged catheter.
My doc's treatment plan is for neuro-lyme. Can anyone share their experience in side effects, improvment, treatment outcome?
Hi everyone I did not see my doctor for 3 months I have gonnorhea me and my ex grlfriend have sex last june 6 and then I have a symptoms like burning in my urine until 2 months later the symptoms like urine has gone on september this week I had a shot of rocephin and zithromax 500mg I take it for everyday med in 7 days 2x a day now today is my last med so it is possible will the gonnorhea will be cured??? I was given a rocephin shot in arm by a er doctor and 6 days later i had unprotected sex with a partner i know for fact is clean
I was given the shot in er because i had a std in march and i was treated then retested and was clean from the std
When i went into er they said that a std was SUSPECTED did they say that because i had one in the past !?? They didnt even send my urine to the lab !
i took a rocephin shot friday morning about 9.30 and saturday about 9.30 in the night i had about 3 beers. that was about 30 hours after i took the shot does that mess up the effectiveness of the meds.?
My ears have seemed to calm a tad down ringing wise today but this does occur from time to time only to return. Also I forgot to mention on first post that along with Rocephin those first times I was also given a steroid injection same time, since today the effect of just a rocephin injection didn't seem to work as well, I now wonder how much of a role the steroids play. I will re-post any changes and results from labs soon. Again thank you for your time and reply.
They stated I may have Chlamydia/Gonorrhea and gave me a shot of Rocephin intramuscularly. My tests all came back clear, with the exception of a 1:2 titre on syphilis with a confirmatory test result. This blood test was taken before my shot. I was also given 500 mg of Azithromycin and 200mg a day of Doxycycline for 14 days. I went to a doctor after 7 days on the doxycycline and he took me off the doxy and gave me two shots of penicillin.
yesterday i took rocephin shot for prostate problems. a girl licked on the head of my penis for a few seconds. if she would have gave me something would the rocephin shoot work sense it was the day before? what std could i get?
ve had quite a few stellate ganglion blocks and have had some success. They thought the lidocaine infusion might help the other pain I deal with and kill two (or more) birds at the same time so to speak.
KittKat23-78, Sorry the infusion didn't help you!! I hadn't heard about having several a few days apart; I'll have to ask about it. Mine is (at least one) being paid for by worker's comp. I'm hopeful but also trying to keep things realistic and in perspective.

I got a shot of Rocephin on Tueday 7/13/13. The doctors took a swab for gonorrhea and chlamydia, I am still waiting on results. However, I had a non stop discharge prior to the shot. Now that seems to have gone away. I still have some slight itching and burning down there, but nothing like it was. I'm just curious what the usual wait time is for all of it to go away? I'm taking the discountined discharge as a good sign.
only 1/4 inch came out so a good 1/2 inch is still in there i can see it thru the nail. I attempted to cut and split the nail with razor blade but once i got part way thru nail it hurt bad. my co-worker gave me a new 10ml bottle of lidocaine, he uses it to give himself stitches. advice as to where to put the needle (i got from cvs insulin 31g-8mm),what to expect ie: will it burn- how long b4 its numb, and if i split the nail will it grow back? any advice will help..
Had encounter with a woman of unknown status about 13 days ago. Briefly gave oral sex and head of penis rubbed up against her vagina for about a minute. If any insertion took place it would of been no more than an 1/8" although I don't think any took place at all. (Had been drinking)
Went to doctor today and she prescribed "Ciprofloxacin HCL" (500mg Tab) Took 4 in one dose for a potential gonorrhea.
Turns out, my girlfriend had an oral infection, and she transmitted Gonorrhea to me through oral sex. We were both treated. She was given Rocephin and Azithromyocin, and I was given Rocephin and Doxycycline. I wasn't given Rocephin until after my bacterial culture revealed it Gonorrhea and not Chlamydia, but Doxycyline cleared my symptoms within 4 hours. (Obviously) I finished my 10 day course of treatment.
We waited about four weeks after we were treated before resuming sexual activity.
Is always a wise move to go in for a follow up examine. Rocephin is 95-97% effective in treating gonorrhea. Rocephin is a cephelasporin and as far as I know, gonorrhea has not become resistant to cephelasporin drugs. A follow up culture will be a good way to determine that the infection has been fully cleared or if you require more drugs to finish the job.
I recently was infected with gonorrhea and I went in for a follow up per my doctor's orders. I think its a good idea.
Re: Lidocaine Enemas. I am warning everyone to be careful. My brother just died 3/31/12 from a lidocaine enema. He was only 28. (Lidocaine Intoxication) Lidocaine in liquid form. I don't want anyone elses loved ones to die like this. I hope everyone will be careful when dealing w/lidocaine. it is a dangerous substance when not used properly.
Been to ER, ENT, and GP several times. On two occasions, once I was given Rocephin injection, and another time had Rocephin IV. That seemed to cure my ear ringing and sick feeling for 12-24 hours. But the amox, augmentin, keflex, and bactrim-ds oral that I was given four different times will not work. The bactrim-ds did seem to help but only after 5 days of taking and I felt worse the whole week of taking them. Is there a reason the Rocephin when IM or IV works but nothing else does?
There are no contraindications for using lidocaine for the purpose described. The only danger is that lidocaine completely anesthetizes tissue, which is why you can cut or suture an area treated by lidocaine. Thus it is possible to cause a tear or injury that would not be noticed until the lidocaine wore off. In the case of normal intercourse, this should not be a problem.
then again i went to my doctor!!! and he said he will gave me a shot of rocephin 1g he said these medication will work within 24hrs.. after this there's a big change of result! there's no discharge, no burning sensation..
Now my question is...
1. 1g of rocephin is enough to cure gonorrhea or chlymadia? even there's no other treatment of doxy after a shot of rocephin?
2. how long does it take to make me negative??
3. after a shot of rocephin within 24hr.
