Avatar m tn Went to collorectal surgeon last wednesday and he and my GI doctor decided to put me on suppositories for a week to see if swelling goes down. I dont think it's working. still hurts to go. I've missed 5 days work already because i have to do sitz baths every so many hours and obviously can't do that at work. Anybody out there have same problems. I'm also bleeding from butt almost every time and am worried i will become anemic even more so.

Avatar n tn ) Kevin the compounding pharmacist at Dakota pharmacy specializes in treating IC patients, he can make urethral suppositories as well, that put the lidocaine and valium etc. right in the urethra itself. He will work with your physician and custom make meds that your doctor wants to use in them.
Avatar f tn I am using Benadryl, Keri lotion, and Hydrocortizone cream for the rash and itching, but I will admit, so far mine has been mild. As for the Fire in the Hole, that side effect has been a doozy. I am using unscented baby wipes with aloe after going to the BR (Huggies), hemorrhoid cream, sometimes A&D ointment (for any outer excoriation), prescription Lidocaine 3%/Hydrocortizone 0.5% cream, and hemorrhoid suppositories.

Avatar f tn First trip to outpatient ER clinic they diagnosed me with constipation and gave me two suppositories to take home with lactulose which did nothing!! Went back again that same night to the ER and again, nothing was done. Went back a third time and they did a rectal exam and diagnosed me with fecal impaction. They numbed me lidocaine for the mouth up my butt and tried a enema. Didn't work. Sent me home. I came home and ended up having a seizure from pushing so hard to go.
Avatar f tn hemorrhoid suppositories, hemorrhoid cream, lidocaine ointment, balneol, 1 imodium a day, experimenting with diet, lots of water, keeping area clean and dry and protected with balneol...he didn't like tucks. His NP believes that it is internal hemorrhoids caused by Incivek that develop fissures and don't have time to heal.
Avatar f tn Those sound a lot like bladder spasms! I actually have vaginal suppositories with valium and lidocaine etc. that help, when I get these. I actually have Interstitial Cystitis, I am an iC support group leader and director of MOARKIC(Networking patients and medical practitioners here in Missouri and Arkansas). Bladder spasms, as well as the symptoms emm21 describes could be IC.
1580703 tn?1651904887 I'm trying canasa suppositories, prednisone, oatmeal, lidocaine gel, tyenol and drinking water I've been getting this pinpoint rash all over my body, is that a sign of sepsis or toxins leaking into my whole body?
Avatar f tn Have any of u had to use glycerin suppositories for constipation? If so how horrible is it?
Avatar f tn I treated them with suppositories, prep h, and used the lidocaine cream they have too because it was unbearable at times. I treated for 3 weeks. I went to my student health center and pcp who both agreed the external one was too large to treat and I have an appointment with a gi doctor to talk about possible removal. Last week there was an sti walk in clinic and I got tested and came back positive for gonorrhea. They treated was a shot of antibiotics and also four pills.

Has anyone here used it before? And did it help? I tried to use it last night but it wouldnt stick to my neck.
1275919 tn?1279836004 In light of everything going on... My IC is acting up big time. Has been for a couple weeks now. This is the least responsive to the pain meds. Since I'm going to have to stretch my pain meds out do you think it would be a violation of my contract to go see my pcp and ask for some lidocaine suppositories and a muscle relaxer to get ne through till my appt on may 3rd.
Avatar n tn Re: Lidocaine Enemas. I am warning everyone to be careful. My brother just died 3/31/12 from a lidocaine enema. He was only 28. (Lidocaine Intoxication) Lidocaine in liquid form. I don't want anyone elses loved ones to die like this. I hope everyone will be careful when dealing w/lidocaine. it is a dangerous substance when not used properly.
383138 tn?1314167773 wants to do a lidocaine IV infusion, he says IV infusion of lidocaine is different than the dental injection. My cardiologist says I can't have lidocaine at all, due to my past severe heart reaction to it, but my pain dr. thinks it will be OK and has scheduled me for infusion for pain relief for this Friday. I dont know what to do, so any info on the lidocaine and any contraidictions with heart arrhythmias would be helpful. Thankyou.
Avatar f tn There are no contraindications for using lidocaine for the purpose described. The only danger is that lidocaine completely anesthetizes tissue, which is why you can cut or suture an area treated by lidocaine. Thus it is possible to cause a tear or injury that would not be noticed until the lidocaine wore off. In the case of normal intercourse, this should not be a problem.
Avatar m tn In a simple dental procedure, I had what I can only describe as a seizure after getting what was supposed to be lidocaine and epinephrine injection. The area never got numb, and the pain from the point of the needle each time they attempted to inject me was painful. I was taken to the ER and released after 8 hours with no explanation. I read that lidocaine can cause a seizure. I have had injections many times with no problem. What could have gone wrong?
1986030 tn?1327535359 For me it would come and go. Like other sx - I would never know what other day brings.
306455 tn?1288862071 lotsatrout...good idea...you ought to get a patent....lidocaine suit...i like that!!! ...My educated guess says it is not addictive!!!...and we know where my educated guesses have gotten me before!!!
Avatar f tn It probably isn't the lidocaine, it's the epinephrine that is in the lidocaine. You can ask your dentist to use an anesthetic without epinephrine, I have had tons of dental work and always ask for that. Dentist doesn't mind at all and I've never had any problems. It doesn't last as long but if you start to feel anything while they are working the dentist will just give you more. I have done fine with it.
Avatar f tn Look at the ingredients on the bottle. Benzocaine is mostly made up of lidocaine -a numbing agent in no way related to cocaine. You are more likely to test positive for THC (pot) from using motrin.
Avatar f tn For the sore outside area I would recommend getting Neosporin with pain aid in it. It has lidocaine which is a numbing agent in it and will help numb you back there to help decrease the painful poops while healing the injury site. Warm wash cloth to the area or a warm bath will help too.
673999 tn?1226935279 The new standard inoffice bladder instillation for IC is Lidocaine instillation with bicarbonate solution. The lidocaine is a local anesthetic and the bicarbonate allows the lidocaine to penetrate the bladder wall to get to the bladder nerves. Lidocaine without the bicarbonate solution has only minimal bladder wall penetration and very short duration of action (minutes to an hour).
