306455 tn?1288862071 Has anyone other than me heard of lidocaine patches and are they addictive? I used them for a couple of years for my knee and back and they worked great. But I never thought about the possiblity of addiction and can't find any info if they are.
Avatar f tn Lidoderm Patches (Rx Only or doctor sample) work better for me and 5% Lidocaine Cream (you can find online) is awesome! Hope this helps.
Avatar m tn I got prescribed Norco, lidocaine patches, and diclofenac 75 mg. Yesterday I took Norco and I put a lidocaine patch and I woke up with weird heart sensation, like slow heart rate or something. Could it be caused by lidocaine patch? I also take the following medication: Atorvastatin Calcium 80 Mg- 1 tab in the evening Carvedilol 6.
18546916 tn?1465750964 Have you tried anything with lidocaine? I have Lido Patches by Rx. It takes awhile, but it numbs. But I recently heard a commercial for over the counter Lido Patches.
Avatar f tn Hi, whew, that's rough. I'm sorry! So, first. Lidocaine patches. What about lidocaine cream? It's cheap, REALLY cheap. I've gotten it on Amazon for under 6 dollars a tube. You can spend more as well and it is going to last you and go a lot further than 2 patches. And I use it and it is helpful. You could look for alternatives. They also make a spray, also inexpensive. Ketamine infusions I've heard are pretty amazing.
Avatar m tn Fentanyl patches and Lidocaine patches are NOT the same thing and probably will NOT give the same effect. One is a narcotic that absorbs transdermally into the system and the other works topically. Plus, Fentanyl is a very potent narcotic and I have seen alot of problems with these patches in the past; I am an RN.
Avatar m tn Also I am prescribed lidocaine patches. Lidocaine is a local anaesthetic. I apply the patches to the affected area, they can be left on for up to 12 hours then you have 12 hours off. They work pretty well too particularly when it come to wearing shoes. That all that has been suggested to try by my pain Dr. I hope it helps.
Avatar m tn They will provide you with a TENS device for pain, and transdermal lidocaine patches. The lidocaine patches are not in the VA system so there will be a small review before they are approved. Meanwhile sleep with a pillow between your legs and avoid lifting and riding in vehicles that cause up-and-down bumping.
Avatar n tn Can a prescribed Lidoderm/ Lidocaine Patch 5% give u a pain pill buzz? Ive watched some of my friends go thru bad DTs and eat patches that were suppose to only be applied. I get Lidoderm Patches and have been keeping it a secret just incase. I don't wanna get robbed cuz they really help with my pain. I need to know if one of them ever find my patch and eat it or use it... will they get any kind of buzz from it?
Avatar f tn 1.) fentanyl patch 2.) buprenorphine patch 3.) lidocaine patch There all really different and they each have pros and cons, as well as a big spectrum of side effects -- for example, in the forums here, I see people mentioning the hell they go through withdrawing from fentanyl. And at the same time, it looks like withdrawing from buprenorphine (or any opiate for that matter) is no walk in the park, either.
Avatar f tn so still seeking alternatives. Someone mentioned lidocaine/lidoderm patches. Any experience/ advice or other suggestions for these or other alternatives???? Other info: The muscle relaxers probably help, but I don't like to take them. They make me too sleepy and I know they can be addictive (though I seriously don't like them). I've been using a heating pad every night for a week and it hasn't helped. Salon-Pas patches help....some. The anti-inflamatory pill helps...some....
Avatar f tn Hot baths. Or hot shower and try to slowly stretch different parts of your back while the water hits you. When mine got really bad, hot baths wouldn't even work and neither would painkillers I used lidocaine patches, but those are prescription only.
Avatar n tn Today is 11/28/2012. Newspaper articles stated that generic Lidocaine patches would be available this date. Who is manufacturing these and where can I buy them?
429209 tn?1224166589 Lidocaine patches are a local numbing agent and will help the pain where he puts the patch...not much is absorbed systemically and they are not addicting...now i wouldnt put 10 on at a time!
352007 tn?1372857881 I went to my Neuro today because yesterday I had issues with my upper left arm feeling like a tight band (like blood pressure cuff width) or vice like grip going around it, accompanied by pins/needles from that band like area down to the tips of my fingers. Now it was days in the making and I decided to call my Neuro yesterday when it was at its peak (painful and I could not barely touch anything without discomfort.
9668401 tn?1405176684 lidocaine patches are WONDERFUL. they have a gel on them and they feel so good. go for it. although, i will tell you that it doesn't go deep enough to remove the pain, kind of just distracts the pain.
Avatar m tn s ( a narcotic ) and the two used together seem to help lower this pain better than either one treatment alone. The sad part is these lidocaine patches are costly; I'm not sure of the cost without my insurance copay, but a box of 30 cost me exactly 30.00, or a dollar each.
Avatar f tn The morn of fourth day I noticed raw red oozy/wet patches. I attributed it to my scratching. But these were not tears. The itching by this point has subsided. So I started applying aloe gel with. 5% lidocaine. This is a miracle as it numbs very nicely. It is now day 7 and I have even more raw spots, and it now really hurts to pee. Like after giving birth. I am 36 yrs old 3 children 15-18 yrs old. I have experienced yeast infections previosly.
Avatar f tn t heard anyone say they tried Lidoderm patches-they work well for any part of your body you are in pain, and you can cut the patches into smaller ones if you want. They are only made up of lidocaine (numbing) for surface pain, muscle pain, any pain. You wear up to 3 for no more that 12hrs and then take a 12hr break. Only one bad thing is they don't stick well, I have to use heavy duty med tape, but they are worth it. Plus, they are 235.
Avatar f tn Im 25 weeks and 5days I have bad back pain my mom has some lidocaine patches 5% so i was wondering does anybody know if its safe cuz my back really hurts . i would call my doc but its already 7pm and the office is closed . so this is the next best thing....
Avatar f tn ) the patches are prescription only so maybe ask your doctor about them or try over the counter ones like icy hot maybe. Hope these work for you. Goodluck.
