Common Questions and Answers about Lidoderm patches side effects

lidoderm

Avatar f tn t heard anyone say they tried Lidoderm patches-they work well for any part of your body you are in pain, and you can cut the patches into smaller ones if you want. They are only made up of lidocaine (numbing) for surface pain, muscle pain, any pain. You wear up to 3 for no more that 12hrs and then take a 12hr break. Only one bad thing is they don't stick well, I have to use heavy duty med tape, but they are worth it. Plus, they are 235.
Avatar n tn Ive watched some of my friends go thru bad DTs and eat patches that were suppose to only be applied. I get Lidoderm Patches and have been keeping it a secret just incase. I don't wanna get robbed cuz they really help with my pain. I need to know if one of them ever find my patch and eat it or use it... will they get any kind of buzz from it?
Avatar f tn Is anyone out there using lidoderm patches for back and/or neck pain? My neurosurgeon just prescribed them for me--they're a topical anesthetic patch. I tried one, it seemed to help briefly. I've been taking Lyrica for about a month, trying to taper off hydrocodone (after 7 months of steady use), and wondering why I have not seen these lidoderm patches mentioned by anyone in any of the back pain boards I've looked at. Looking for input on this. Thanks.
563571 tn?1232491190 Do any or many of you use Lidoderm patches for pain? I used them some before getting Trimadol and still think about using them along with the Trimadol, but have some concerns. For several days I used them on hip, leg and knee (by instructions for number of patches and length of time) and did get some relief; however, my calf is swollen and very, very numb to the touch, but also burning badly.
934553 tn?1275274379 Hi, a lot of people benefit from the Lidoderm patches. I hope it helps. I completely understand about life consisting only of work and sleep. That doesn't make much of a life. That exquisite sensitivity to light touch is called allodynia. Often a firm touch is tolerable, but the light brushing of clothes or a light touch from another person is unbearable. Seems backward, but it is common. Another addition that can help the Cymbalta is a low-dose of amiltrityline at night.
Avatar f tn ) lidocaine patch There all really different and they each have pros and cons, as well as a big spectrum of side effects -- for example, in the forums here, I see people mentioning the hell they go through withdrawing from fentanyl. And at the same time, it looks like withdrawing from buprenorphine (or any opiate for that matter) is no walk in the park, either.
230948 tn?1235844329 Hi, I had a psychotic episode after being on fentanol pain patches for just a few weeks. I was hallucinating, having vivid dreams and felt really sedated. I use Lidoderm patches instead and don't have any side effects from it. I LOVE Lyrica and wouldn't give it up for nothing or anyone -- I would certainly challenge my dr before giving it up. I'm sorry your hubby left you and your children. Concentrate on getting better and if you and he work it out later then it was meant to be.
Avatar f tn I meant caspian can cause redness and tenderness. Sorry for the mispelling. I done a little research and the creams you are talking about do show they help with pain, though some have side effects... Arnica Gel... Some herbal/diet supplement products have been found to contain possibly harmful impurities/additives. Check with your pharmacist for more details regarding the particular brand you use. SIDE EFFECTS: Redness or irritation may occur.
1182304 tn?1349305951 I do use the lidoderm patches and they help me. I do not use them all the time but I do when I have a bad pain day.
Avatar f tn Lidoderm Patches (Rx Only or doctor sample) work better for me and 5% Lidocaine Cream (you can find online) is awesome! Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn Does anyone have experience with Lidoderm Pain Patches? I use three per 12 hour period along with oxycodone, tramadol, neurontin and flexeril for pain. All the talk about Fentanyl has me concerned. BTW I am so thankful for this forum, whether or not one posts one can gain so much valuable information without fear of judgement. Kudos to sandee for keeping it going and thanx to everyone for straight up honesty in your replies to questions.
Avatar m tn I felt the same way when I started. It isn't that it was all that would help, It was the only thing I could take with no side effects and it took off from there. A lot will say Ultram, probably the ones who have had no problems with it, even drs.! BEWARE!!!! They lower the seizure threshhold. If she perhaps is taking something else, something that would also lower this threshhold, plan to stay with her is all I can say. I take Adderall and my dr.
Avatar n tn Today is 11/28/2012. Newspaper articles stated that generic Lidocaine patches would be available this date. Who is manufacturing these and where can I buy them?
9668401 tn?1405176684 What kind of patches? I've used Lidoderm patches and it.definitely helps take the edge off. I also use.Voltaren gel as well.
Avatar f tn But it ***** because of the side effects. Everybody is different and some may not have the same reaction or opinions about the meds. If you current dr. does not prescibe those type of meds. he may refer you to someone who does.
669241 tn?1236264344 I take vicodin 5/500 and I also have the lidoderm patches. Not taking Lyria or Cymbalta anymore as they didn't help and the cognitive problems just increased. Waiting to see another rheumatologist to see what she has to offer on March 4th.
Avatar f tn I was wondering if anyone else ever has lower back pain with their MS symptoms. Sometimes it is accompanied with a fogginess.......lidoderm patches help sometimes.
279234 tn?1363105249 s definitely muscular with the jaw because you can feel it on the side of my face and the Lido-derm patches worked and they numb the muscle enough where I can open my mouth so I don't know what to do. Maybe I could increase my Baclofen? I'm only on 10mg 1-3 a day. Right now I'm taking 3. It helps but not enough. Any ideas?
Avatar m tn I know what you mean about the firelike feeling of nerve pain. Unfortunately, there are no good medications on the market yet for this. That's why they have been prescribing off-label use of medications for Epilepsy like neurontin/gabapentin etc. etc. There doesn't seem to be any real good research on the use of this class of drugs for this nerve problem either. Some people do get some relief, but from what I know most patients can't tolerate the side effects of these drugs.
Avatar m tn Why didn't you ask your doctor what the actual prognoses was for the pain or that type of pain? Everyone is different some people have a high tolerance and don't notice pain while others notice everything. :) One thing I learned from my surgeries is that the more exercise I did the better things healed as long as it is the proper exercise for your specific problem then pain will probably go away.
