Avatar n tn intravenous lidocaine, opioids and narcotics, anti-depressants and anti-epileptic medications". The treatment given depends on the effects and location of cell damage caused by a stroke. Avatar f tn Local anesthetic agents like intravenous application of lidocaine, tocainide or mexiletene, can be prescribed as combination. Spinal cord stimulation introduces low level of electrical current to the dorsal portion of spinal cord and can include a fully implanted system or a system with an external power source.Consult your hospital for help of a neurosurgeon and a physiotherapist or search over internet about the ones in your locality. Hope this helps. Take care.
325086 tn?1217971180 How does a person find a Doctor in their area who will administor Intravenous Alpha Lipoic Acid. Is the only option going to Dr. Berkson's office? I have a friend who was just diagnosed with liver cancer, and I'm trying to get him some information on his alternatives.
Avatar n tn Once and for all, the AUA needs to set the standard of care as short-acting general intravenous anesthetic agents (spare us your asinine argument about the point score efficacy of injectable lidocaine via different sites). PLEASE also stop lying to men saying that you may experience “discomfort” when the biopsy is taken: This is an incredibly PAINFUL procedure. Come out of the dark ages! Spread the word guys: DO NOT go to a urologist who doesn’t offer sleep for this procedure!

Avatar n tn Re: Lidocaine Enemas. I am warning everyone to be careful. My brother just died 3/31/12 from a lidocaine enema. He was only 28. (Lidocaine Intoxication) Lidocaine in liquid form. I don't want anyone elses loved ones to die like this. I hope everyone will be careful when dealing w/lidocaine. it is a dangerous substance when not used properly.
383138 tn?1314167773 wants to do a lidocaine IV infusion, he says IV infusion of lidocaine is different than the dental injection. My cardiologist says I can't have lidocaine at all, due to my past severe heart reaction to it, but my pain dr. thinks it will be OK and has scheduled me for infusion for pain relief for this Friday. I dont know what to do, so any info on the lidocaine and any contraidictions with heart arrhythmias would be helpful. Thankyou.
Avatar f tn There are no contraindications for using lidocaine for the purpose described. The only danger is that lidocaine completely anesthetizes tissue, which is why you can cut or suture an area treated by lidocaine. Thus it is possible to cause a tear or injury that would not be noticed until the lidocaine wore off. In the case of normal intercourse, this should not be a problem.
Avatar m tn In a simple dental procedure, I had what I can only describe as a seizure after getting what was supposed to be lidocaine and epinephrine injection. The area never got numb, and the pain from the point of the needle each time they attempted to inject me was painful. I was taken to the ER and released after 8 hours with no explanation. I read that lidocaine can cause a seizure. I have had injections many times with no problem. What could have gone wrong?
Avatar n tn So im on an intravenous receiving antibiotics and there is a bruise above the sight of the iv insertion spot I was just wondering if this might be caused by the medication going in. It did the same hing to the opposite arm.
Avatar n tn I was recently diagnosed with a more sever form of lyme disease and am going to be given Intravenous Antibiotics through an IV form for 30 days. They have to keep certain tubes inside so it can be done everyday. I'm just curious about how much/how many tubes there will be put that are visible on the outside that I have to go through each day with. Thanks so much! Kelly.
306455 tn?1288862071 lotsatrout...good idea...you ought to get a patent....lidocaine suit...i like that!!! ...My educated guess says it is not addictive!!!...and we know where my educated guesses have gotten me before!!!
Avatar f tn It probably isn't the lidocaine, it's the epinephrine that is in the lidocaine. You can ask your dentist to use an anesthetic without epinephrine, I have had tons of dental work and always ask for that. Dentist doesn't mind at all and I've never had any problems. It doesn't last as long but if you start to feel anything while they are working the dentist will just give you more. I have done fine with it.
Avatar f tn Look at the ingredients on the bottle. Benzocaine is mostly made up of lidocaine -a numbing agent in no way related to cocaine. You are more likely to test positive for THC (pot) from using motrin.
673999 tn?1226935279 The new standard inoffice bladder instillation for IC is Lidocaine instillation with bicarbonate solution. The lidocaine is a local anesthetic and the bicarbonate allows the lidocaine to penetrate the bladder wall to get to the bladder nerves. Lidocaine without the bicarbonate solution has only minimal bladder wall penetration and very short duration of action (minutes to an hour).
Avatar m tn I have read previous posts, but am wondering what medications would cause a false negative 4th gen test. Medication that I am concerned about is lidocaine viscous. My Doctor has told me several times that it would not and that I am conclusive non-reactive. But just checking.
Avatar n tn t have a headache. I understand that there is a test or treatment involving lidocaine dripped directly on the sphenopalatine nerve. How do I get to the right specialist. More importantly, do my symptoms sound like this syndrome. I plan to explore this more with my doctor which is 12 days away.
14051 tn?1238251732 I have had 2 sympathetic blocks in the past, but no real relief. My surgeon gave me Lidocaine injections, on 2 different occasions, in my back, where the rod was on the right side to see if I had infection or the rods were the issue. The Lidocaine was a godsend!!!!
Avatar n tn My first ultra sound FNA was a done by a Radiologist. I felt the 1st stick of lidocaine. I didn't feel the other needle sticks, but felt lots of pressure. The Radiologist seemed to have lots of problems getting the needle into the nodule even though it was ultra sound guided. He poked around in me for about 25 minutes before getting a sample. I was scared to death and could feel the needle inside my throat every time I swallowed. Two days later, I was told the sample was not adequate.
Avatar m tn No I have implanted pacemaker/defibrillator. Recently i developed severe back pain and can barely walk. I got prescribed Norco, lidocaine patches, and diclofenac 75 mg. Yesterday I took Norco and I put a lidocaine patch and I woke up with weird heart sensation, like slow heart rate or something. Could it be caused by lidocaine patch? I also take the following medication: Atorvastatin Calcium 80 Mg- 1 tab in the evening Carvedilol 6.
Avatar n tn She still has 1 filling left to get and frankly I am a little unsure about her having it done. The paramedics asked the dentist what she gave her and she told them lidocaine and epinephrine.
