5432782 tn?1368806956 Biotene comes in a mouthwash forum to give you moisture in your mouth. You can buy it even in a grocery store in the US. I would think it would be easy to find in Canada. It really help me. It's really fast relief.
Avatar n tn How long has he had the spots? Usually mouth problems heal in about 7-10 days. Some of the mouth rinses like what we call "magic mouth wash" it has lidocaine in it which can be a numbing agent. I'm sorry for your little one in such pain. Motrin is better because it has anti-inflamatory in it. "magic mouth wash" has Benadryl, maylox, lidocaine, and I'm not sure what else, but if you are interested I could ask the dentist that I work for what the prescription is.
Avatar n tn I just got a mouth ulcer today. I have magic mouth it helps. For the sores in corner of mouth, use anti-fungal like monistat. I am G2 24 shots left. I also have the bad taste. Looks like alot of us are the same.

Avatar m tn Tensing upthe muscle makes it hurt more cause it is harder for needle to go in. Another tip I use it to put VERY SOUR candy in my mouth seconds before the injection. IT HELPS. This discussion is related to Pain after Biopsy.
Avatar m tn Getting lidocaine for wisdom tooth extraction--felt the needle going in and woke up 45 minutes later in ER. I had had a seizure! Hundreds of shots for teeth over the years, never any such experience. Surgeon swore he found no blood in syringe and couldn't understand why I seized. Swore he did everything right, never heard of lidocaine causing a seizure this way. Apologized profusely. I'm now worried about completing the extraction, which has to be done.

114870 tn?1210298346 Posting for my Mom...she is in between round 2 &3 with doxil and has terrible mouth and back throat sores. So bad she cannot swallow anything but chicken broth, going on day three. She does backing soda gargle and that relieves for a bit. Is there anything that can be used to get rid of these sores.
1264863 tn?1391118193 , use the combination of equal parts liquid benadryl and maalox (or mylanta) gargle and swish for 60 seconds then spit.. The lidocaine helps greatly (numbing) but in a pinch the other two are soothing and you will find some relief.
Avatar m tn I have really gross hives all over my body, but I'm trying to figure out why. I go to this weird Korean skin care place for my bacne. A few months ago, they injected triamcinolone+lidocaine into a few specific acne spots. I started itching like crazy, breathing was difficult, and they let me go home after injecting me with an antihistamine (I imagine). Rash went away after my 3 hour nap.
Avatar f tn There's only 2 things I know that cause this frequently while on hep c treatment...An oral fungal infection (like thrush) or a folic acid/ B-12 deficiency...Is your tongue bright red or have a whitish coating? Are you anemic? If it's fungal in origin, a simple mouth swish of a mixture of a children's thrush syrup, lidocaine, and Maalox (or just get a prescription of "Magic Mouthwash") and supplying a source of acidophilous (yogurt, capsules, etc) daily to your body...
Avatar f tn Natural Apple cider vinegar is supposed to do wonders. Just read up on it and find the best way to take it.
Avatar f tn I use Biotene mouth spray, toothpaste and mouthwash that keeps the gums and mouth moist which really helps. It also is very refreshing. I have had veneers put on all my teeth and it really is a good option. I used Magic when I had thrush during treatment and transitioned to the Biotene and never stopped.
Avatar f tn t until about a month later after i had grieved that i researched it and i found out that lidocaine can cause organ failure in the foetus in early pregnancy!! i took this to the GDC and i received a letter saying that the dentist carried out correct procedure!
745313 tn?1323142298 ve been using 1/4 t of seasalt in 1 c of water for him to hold in his mouth to soak them, but are there any better ideas out there? I know he can't use anything with alcohol in it (chloraseptic, etc...) because the alcohol wll actually damage the new healing tissue, but just thought I would ask the experts! Avatar f tn i had to stop the riba for a couple weeks because of really bad anemia and now know what sx were caused by it alone....corners of my mouth cracked and sore...gums real sensitive ..sores in my mouth...bad taste...all gone now that i had to stop the riba...once i start again i'm sure it will be back....like cando says magic mouthwash helps...good luck....
Avatar f tn Hi, OUCH! I think I'd switch to just plain salted water to rinse with instead of the mouth wash. Use about 1/4 tsp in 8oz of warm water. It's a more "normal" solution to the saliva in your mouth and can help with healing by drawing any edema out. Many mouthwashes contain alcohol and other substances that can keep the area from healing. If it's anything like a pizza burn, it will heal in about a week to 10 days. Try eating soft foods until it does, too.
Avatar f tn Ribavirin can cause you to have an allergic reaction that might show up as a rash on your skin. It can also show up as an irritation in your mouth and throat. If you normally get mouth ulcers, they may get worse while you are on treatment. Quick Tips: Eat soft or pureed foods. Baby foods or toddler foods may be good substitutes. Drink nectars instead of juices. Drink instant breakfast formulas or milkshakes instead of eating solid food. Use a straw.
Avatar f tn For nearly two years I have had experienced severe to chronic pain in my right eye. Over the past two years, I have seen 4 doctors, including opthamologists, optometrists, and I am currently seeing a neuro-ophthalmologist. I have had a multitude of tests including 2 MRI's. Recently I have been experiencing floaters when I have the pain. The pain is becoming more frequent and more severe. At times I also experience a sharp line of pain straight through my brain.
Avatar f tn I had a follow-up PM appointment today. I haven't seen her in a couple of months. We stopped my Cymbalta about a month ago and it made a HUGE difference in how I feel mentally and emotionally. Apparently that wasn't the drug for me, and it makes no difference in my pain, which was the point of going on it to begin with. I had a terrible fibromyalgia flare-up before Thanksgiving. The worst in a long time. To the point I had to crawl up the stairs and go down on my bum.
Avatar f tn Just as the doctor left the room after shooting him up with the novacaine on both sides of his mouth top and bottom he went unconsious and had a seizure. The doctor stated it was because he fasted and was nervous. He has never had a seizure before but it was deffinately not just passing out. What should I watch for as future side effects of this treatment?
