383138 tn?1314167773 I dont know what to do, so any info on the lidocaine and any contraidictions with heart arrhythmias would be helpful. Thankyou.
Avatar f tn I have had bad reactions to regular novocaine in the past, prior to my SVT diagnosis in 2001, so he has given me lidocaine since then. For the past ten years prior to my ablation in April 2011, I was on beta blockers (atenolol) so there were no issues. I was taken off beta blockers 3 weeks after my ablation. Have had dental work requiring lidocaine since then, with no issues until now. While he was injecting the second shot of novocaine, an SVT episode suddenly triggered.
Avatar f tn my husbaned is 29 year old he was diagnosed to have HCM since 10 years ago, to prevent sudden death an ICD was implanted since then it was changed towice last one in 2007. in May 2009 he had three attacked of VT it was treated by shock. the doctors here thinh that he dose not need an ablation.
Avatar m tn A number of cardiac drugs, including digitalis, lidocaine, diltiazem, procainamide, atropine, and propanalol (Inderal), are used to control arrhythmias in dogs. Dogs whose primary problem is an arrhythmia may be able to have a pacemaker implanted to help control the heart rate. The heart will ultimately give-in, resulting usually in cardiac failure (heart attack).
Avatar n tn I would reccomend you get a medical alert bracelt for your allergy to Lidocaine as this is sometimes used in emergency situations to treat cardiac arrest.
Avatar f tn For probably a year now, I have had a vibration/buzzing in my chest...should I be concerned about this and make an appt with my cardiologist? My last appt. with Cardio.was about 4 years ago. Also, I am hypothyroid and on meds...any connection? Thank you.
Avatar f tn My heart felt fluttery and like it was jumping out of my chest. One right after the other. I had a little pressure in my chest. No dizziness, sweating, etc. I took my pulse which was about 70, but in between every beat , or so, there would be three little fast ones.....I could see them in my wrist vein. I went home for lunch and listened to my heart through a toy stethescope that really works :) and could hear the three little beats. Any thoughts?
Avatar n tn In general in a healthy heart skipping beats if they are pacs or pvcs are of no concern. It is believed that most people get them to a small degree but most people don't feel them. Adrenaline, caffieine, stomach issues, and stress are the biggest triggers. Unless you are having somewhere around 20,000 a day or are experiencing shortness of breath, dizziness or passing out from them they are considered a benign situation.
Avatar n tn I have no insurance and am awaiting coverage from work which I will receive in 3 months but once I have the insurance there is a 9 month waiting period for any pre existing conditions...What is the bare minimum that I can get by with for awhile...
Avatar n tn The head nurse in the CCU had read about my sort of sinus arrest, but in 17 years had not had a patient with such (nor had the cardiologist in his 13 years). With my enthusiastic permission, the trace of my "flat-lines" are now part of her training materials. She is a nursing teacher at the local college. Only neurologic damage I appear to have received is a mild sensation in my right ear from time to time as if a feather is brushing against it.
Avatar m tn I will attempt to give an anwer but all I can say is "it could have been" Sometimes I feel my palps in my chest but sometimes I feel them in my stomach.I also get really shakey and sometimes clamy. Might I ask why you had all that testing done? Some of the folks on here can give a better answer than me but it would help to understand more of what you have going on.
Avatar f tn 100 bpm in adult population). Several factors may be responsible of a persistent sinus tachycardia in a structurally normal heart, but some of the most common are: hyperthyroidism (increased activity of the thyroid gland), anemia, anxiety/stress, and chronic infections/fever. Some patients can also have an intrinsic sinus node condition, characterized by a high intrinsic heart rate that causes a higher heart rate at rest and an exaggerated response to exercise. Good luck.
Avatar f tn Many people get effective results with Flecanide but it hast to be closely monitored in the beginning to be sure one doesn't have severe side effects... I understand, I have never taken it. What meds are you now taking, any? If you are younger, say under 50, I think a cure should be sought, and think that is not Flecanide. Perhaps another EP can deal with the complications of you ablation status, or at least can confirm the diagnosis.
Avatar m tn I'm a 65 year old male with right bundle branch block, three stents in two heart arteries, some ischemia on the back of the heart, and frequent PVC's. Had an ablation about 15 years ago that was somewhat successful but the PVC's have returned in recent years. They are worse while sitting in the evening and seem to be GI related. I also have leg spasms that feel like little elecrical shocks. I took some Hylands Restful Legs tablets recently for leg symptoms and it seemed to help.
Avatar f tn Mich7874 I have the same as you. I've had full cardiac workups and I was told I have mild tricuspid valve regurgitation. My cardiologist says that it is very common and there is no need for concern or follow up. I have a fast heart rate which my dr says is not at all linked to the tricuspid valve situation so wants me to have an ablation done to burn the extra pathway causing my palpitations. Good luck with you and take care!
Avatar n tn I don't know as I'm just starting on this "journey" myself. However, I have learned we can have "events" and not even be aware of them. The only way to know if there is more going on than we are aware of is a 30 day Event Monitor.
Avatar m tn Hi I have been getting chest "fluttering .., the sensation of a "hiccup" in my upper chest . I have no pain , no heart racing , pulse is normal , no sweats , or dizziness . I have these "flutterings ' through out the day...they disappear when I work out , and go running ...but come back when I am relaxed , they come and go. I work in a stressful enviroment , had a full carido work up done late last Summer ..all was good .
Avatar n tn and most of all help her try to find a safe place in her heart and in her mind that the situation with her brother was a very personal and private decision that he made and has absolutely nothing to do with her...i think that is so important for survivors of those who have made that choice without the thought of everyone they leave behind....
Avatar n tn its what is considered to be a tapered medication that when started the docs usually start at a very high dose and then taper it down into a lower dose so that it levels off in the body until your tissues are fully saturated with it. Many times it takes weeks to see the full benefits.
Avatar n tn i use to run 3 times a weeek 5k in 18 mins, then box after that, i've been diagnosed with A Fib. Dr's have told me to stop running and take it easy in the gym. I know it's very difficult i'm itching to get back. However when you train your heartbeat goes up. That can be a cause of triggering an episode of A fib. I guess it makes perfect sense. The only thing i've been advised to do is light weights and walk. Hope this helped.
Avatar f tn When I am sleeping I get this strong tremor in my chest that is not my heart beat. It will wake me up and then slowly go away within a minute or two. My heart does seem to beat harder when this tremor is happening. I'm not getting as much sleep as I should. Heart doctor says my heart is very healthy. Even had an angiogram. What could this be?
Avatar n tn Prior to this episode i took it for 18/12 in 2005/6. Looking back at my migraine diaries I had a huge increase in migraines as I withdrew from the Flecainide BUT it could possibly have been that i was getting re emerging ectopic beats without knowing which tend to trigger migraine as they dispupt the blood flow to my brain. Otherwise i don't recall any other withdrawal symptoms. Not much help really -sorry.
Avatar n tn That's what I was thinking too. I've had 3 ablations and was back to work in a few days. But my job is much more physical (working with wildlife) so I took it physically easy for about a week (no lifting swans, chasing eagles or wrestling raccoons LOL).
Avatar m tn Last year i had infection in my legs and spent four days in the hospital. I was sent home while still feeling sick with thirteen doses of antibiotics per day for fourteen days. It was five different antibiotics and i do not know which ones at this time. I recently heard that antibiotics can cause Arrhythmias a problem that i experienced a month after going home from the hospital. If this is possible i would like to know where i can read more about it.
Avatar n tn This condition and a low heartbeat of about 25 beats per minute have caused me to have a pace maker implanted in my chest. Well, what complicates this condition's treatment is that I apparently have hypothyroidism. If the thyroid condition can be properly treated, would the atrial fibrillation and slow heartbeat not correct themselves?
