383138 tn?1314167773 I dont know what to do, so any info on the lidocaine and any contraidictions with heart arrhythmias would be helpful. Thankyou.
Avatar f tn My dentist gives me my shot and see another patient, by the time he got back to me I was fully numb. and the numbness last for 8 - 12 hours. I am highly allergic to lidocaine it puts me into anaphylactic shock, I have an epipen but sa that I don't have to use that I just make sure everyone is doing their job and I always wear my medic alert bracelet.
Avatar m tn A number of cardiac drugs, including digitalis, lidocaine, diltiazem, procainamide, atropine, and propanalol (Inderal), are used to control arrhythmias in dogs. Dogs whose primary problem is an arrhythmia may be able to have a pacemaker implanted to help control the heart rate. The heart will ultimately give-in, resulting usually in cardiac failure (heart attack).
Avatar f tn Beta-blockers and a number of class III anti-arrhythmics are commonly used. Lidocaine is now being replaced by amiodarone as the first line anti-arrhythmic treatment of VT. For some of the rare congenital syndromes of VT, other drugs, and sometimes even catheter ablation therapy may be useful. The implantation of an ICD is more effective than drug therapy for prevention of sudden cardiac death due to VT.
Avatar n tn s because of a very bad reaction to a skin test involving Lidocaine and Mepricaine both WITHOUT Ephinepherine( I'm not sure of the spelling?) In the skin test I was given small doses of the local anaesthetics mentioned above and halfway through the test my heart started to have P.A.C.S.so they stopped with the Lido caine and continued with the other one until a full dose was injected under the skin of the inside of my forearm.
Avatar f tn I have a bicuspid aortic valve and find that every antibiotic I take gives me arrhythmias. Is there an antibiotic that doesn't cause arrhythmias?
Avatar m tn I have present LVH last measured 6 years ago at 15mm and hypertension present currently on beta blocker, losartan and clonidine. I have been getting arrhythmias recently that feel like ectopic beats but I’m worried they could be ventricular arrhythmias which could be more serious. I workout 3-4 days a week and recently saw my doctor which wants me to do a holster monitor and echo in two weeks (after it clears my insurance). Anyone had similar issues?
Avatar f tn So I have really bad vaginismus to the point where intercourse can only be done with a lot of lidocaine and with the help of dilators. I am 15 weeks pregnant and concerned about delivery. Will my vaginismus prevent me from vaginal delivery? Is anyone else dealing with or has dealt with this??
4121556 tn?1350428560 What could cause sudden stomache acid rush and arrhythmia with severe breathlessness combined,? these attacks last about 20-25 minutes, gaviscon relieves the acid pain, but the AF continues for some while.
Avatar n tn I do not take flecainide but take antenolol and had major issues with atrial fib a couple of years ago that was getting progressive and chose to have an ablation done for a cure instead of staying on the meds for a treatment instead and it was very successful for me. No one in this day and age should have to experience atrial fib with all of the options out there to help with it.
Avatar f tn I have had a few heart attacks and have a family history of heart disease. I have CAD, PAD and have had arrhythmias. In my younger years I used to tell my doctor I could feel skipped beats and flutters. Because of my age it was dismissed as nothing to worry about. My advice to you, in my later age and with my health, is to make the necessary lifestyle changes and pay attention to your body. I too walk as much as 3 miles a day 6 days a week and aerobic workouts 3 or 4 times a week.
Avatar n tn t know the % but if your AFib is only occasional and has not been going on for years, and if your heart is structurally normal (i.e., you problems are all electrical) meds may be just what you need. Among the "softer" medications are the many Beta Blockers and Calcium Channel Blockers and the anti-arrhythmic drugs like Propafenone/Rhytmol and at the stronger level Flecinide.
Avatar f tn Tricuspid regurgitation has to do with your tricuspid heart valve. The valve is the doorway that opens and closes each time our heart beats and pumps blood forward to the rest of our body. We have for heart valves in different parts of our hearts. The tricuspid valve is one of the valves that gets less wear and tear than some of the other heart valves. Regurgitation means that some of the blood that should be pumped forward, is leaking back through the valve.
Avatar f tn The arrythmia is generally electrically based and the blood pressure is in its own class of issues/symtoms regardless of what it is with these two it could be cause and effect in my opinion, If your blood pressure would to soar and become very high and you are experiencing symtoms from that you would naturally become a little anxious and stressed thus putting the extra strain on your heart but only you know what your doctor has told you about the arrythmias and why they are happening if they
Avatar n tn My cardio says it does not pass the blood-brain barrier, and so less side effects. I keep track of my heart rate and blood pressure and delay my next dose if they are too low. Making sure you are well hydrated will also keep your bp up. The beta blocker will keep your arteries open. I would give it a shot, it kept me out of Afib for 7 years. Good luck -- keep us posted.
Avatar m tn I work in a stressful enviroment , had a full carido work up done late last Summer ..all was good . I do have a high blood pressure and take cardura for it , and I am on potassium suppliments because my potassium level has been lowering over the last couple of blood tests I have had . So I am curiuous what this could be ? ...is it nerves or anxiety ? , a result of the potassium levels in my blood ?. I going to my Doctor as soon as I can ...but am very worried about this ....
Avatar f tn ve had problems with Toprol I shudder when I think of the side effects I had with my first dose of Toprol and ended up in the ER; but I did tolerate Zebeta and Inderal a bit better, so hopefully there's a med for you =)
Avatar n tn That count is the heart beats per minute. For most adults that is between 60 and 80. I can be a bit lower and higher without it being a problem indicator. As for irregular heart beats, that's it, if the time between pulses is noticeable and repetitious one has a heart arrhythmia. This too may be something that isn't a serious problem, but it should be checked.
Avatar n tn 13 the night they monitored me between 8 PM and 5 AM, 5 of which were 15 seconds or longer, 2 of these were 23 and 28 seconds (this one they had 5 people and the crash cart in my room, paddles charged and almost applied). I have normal sinus rhythm, flat-line and then normal rhythm again; don't stop breathing during the episodes. I would suggest talking to your doctor about wearing a Holter monitor to see if there is an arrhythmia.
Avatar n tn It is not the actual stress that causes the heart attack its just cause and effect. A heart attack is caused from lack of blood flow and 02 entering the heart which causes the situation to occur.....many tests need to be done to ensure that they get a handle on what is the actual physical issue behind the heart attack. Ask lots of questions if your mom allows you to speak to her doc because the doc cannot legally speak to you about her without her consent...
Avatar f tn said it was a mild pfo- and small aneurysm, said they are similar and nothing need be done unless something comes up. I take 325mg aspirin daily as preventative. For probably a year now, I have had a vibration/buzzing in my chest...should I be concerned about this and make an appt with my cardiologist? My last appt. with Cardio.was about 4 years ago. Also, I am hypothyroid and on meds...any connection? Thank you.
Avatar f tn I have been on this site for along long time since 2002 when it use to be the cleveland heart forum. I guess Im a bit confused. I have posted a couple of times and I never get any replies back from anyone. I really miss the other forum. I have a hard time finding my way around. Its pretty depressing when your already depressed because of your issues and its even more depressing when others wont respond back to help you out.
Avatar n tn did some blood work in January and told me to just increase potassium by drinking glass of orange juice and having a banana every day. That worked for about 2 1/2 months, but noticed the past couple of weeks that I am having them again, however, now maybe 1 to 3 times per day,and sometimes I go all day without any, I can tell when it happens because I get a momentary feeling of lightheadedness, not dizzy just a very quick feeling of being lightheaded.
Avatar m tn The symptoms are endless and vary person to person day to day. Very few doctors are familiar with this illness and often misdiagnose patients. This illness can be brought on by infections, viruses, trauma, etc. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
Avatar f tn I would like to know if anyone after suffering a svt felt exausted and how long did the attack last? . I ve svt every two months lately , before, I only had episodes every year, now they are more often. my cardiologyst recomended Flecainide but Im scared of taking it because of the side effects, even as a pill pocket.
Avatar n tn I have undergone a procedure I have been told is called an electrocardioversion to stop my atrial fibrillation (Irregular HB). In this I was put under (asleep) and my heart was stopped and restarted using electric shock (two paddles were used to apply an electric current into and out of my chest). This caused my heart to return to normal sinus rhythm, the goal. This may be the treatment you are referring to, but I am not sure that is your question.
Avatar f tn When I am sleeping I get this strong tremor in my chest that is not my heart beat. It will wake me up and then slowly go away within a minute or two. My heart does seem to beat harder when this tremor is happening. I'm not getting as much sleep as I should. Heart doctor says my heart is very healthy. Even had an angiogram. What could this be?
Avatar n tn That's what I was thinking too. I've had 3 ablations and was back to work in a few days. But my job is much more physical (working with wildlife) so I took it physically easy for about a week (no lifting swans, chasing eagles or wrestling raccoons LOL).
