Common Questions and Answers about Lidocaine for suctioning

lidoderm

Avatar m tn Dr said if now fever or throw up shes fine. Any remedies ??? Besides saline water and suctioning her nose.
Avatar n tn BiPAP would not be of benefit for your daughter. Suctioning and normal saline should be of great benefit. You could ask your health care professional about adding mucomyst nebulizer treatments to thin secretions. Also, a good tracheostomy site: http://www.tracheostomy.com/ This page was dedicated to Aaron and has great information and tips.
Avatar m tn I asked a dentist if he would remove it by suctioning it. He said yes, but after he numbed the tooth he drilled it and never suctioned it. When I called his attention on this, he said first that there was no mercury in that filling, then he said that he did suctioned it (he showed me the saliva suctioner that dentist always use). He filed the tooth and his plan is just cover it up with a crown, not roots canal. I'm cuestioning if this dentist is doing the right thing.
317019 tn?1532965586 i think my doc said it could take 2 months to get all of them done but my gosh is she going to be testing for me for everything under the sun?
Avatar f tn There are no contraindications for using lidocaine for the purpose described. The only danger is that lidocaine completely anesthetizes tissue, which is why you can cut or suture an area treated by lidocaine. Thus it is possible to cause a tear or injury that would not be noticed until the lidocaine wore off. In the case of normal intercourse, this should not be a problem.
Avatar n tn This is a question for your doctor or a pharmacist.
Avatar m tn Hi. My mom has alzheimer, and has been on a feeding tube for around 3 months due to the fact that she slept a lot and we could not get her awake enough to feed her. The main issue we are having is she coughs up a white sticky mucus in her throat, and if my dad did not have a suctioning machine, would possibly have choked to death. Can you tell me what is possibly causing this mucus and how we may get rid of it before something bad happens.
492921 tn?1321289896 I've heard they were a pain in the rump...never used one myself. I stick with saline drops and the bulb syringe.
Avatar f tn Can aspercreme with lidocaine be used on a burn caused by a flame if its not blistered
Avatar m tn I am terrified of needles too and I FELT NOTHING.. They used Buffered Lidocaine injection which I did not feel any of.. I must admit, I did put over the counter Lidocaine cream all over my breast about an hour before the procedure. I used this Lidocaine cream on my arm before a tetanus shot that I had to get and was so afraid of and I was screaming for the nurse to WAIT but.. IT WAS ALREADY DONE! Helps a lot so you don't feel pain. Nurse also gave me tips for next time I get an injection.
Avatar n tn I have to agree with you that it does seem to me that there should be 2 nurses for the children , as you pointed out whilst one is cleaning the child up who is caring for the other child .Have you had a discussion with the Principal about the issue ?
6470732 tn?1439556292 morning, I was only 1 and a half cm still with no sign of that changing. Induction was being planned for the 23rd. Little did we know, I would lose mucus plug at 9pm and begin my bloody show at 10pm. At around 12:40am my water broke with a small amount of meconium. Lizzy was born with an APGAR score of 9. :) Right now we're resting. I was 39 weeks 4 days pregnant. I had to have an episiotomy and the help of the forceps but I didn't push very long.
Avatar m tn The patient is secreting sputum with blood colored from the trache my question is what if you get hit with that substance on a well intact skin will that me be a mode of transmission or a pimple perhaps..cause we were suctioning the patient from the trache and we turned him to the side but i turned around to get some stuff and i felt a little drop of something in back of my neck and i knew that it was a the patient blowing out from his trache...
Avatar n tn Hello, My sister needs extensive dental work i.e. root canals and fillings and crowns. She is a heart patient and we are wondering if Lidocaine, EPI, or any of the 'caines' are safe for dental work in heart patients? We do not want to start an arrythmia attack. Any safe meds? Thanks much.
Avatar f tn Has anyone ever been prescribed this for genital outbreaks or PHN? My doctor did for PHN. I just tried it for the first time it hurt to apply and doesn't feel the most pleasant now. Has anyone ever used this and what was your experience?
Avatar f tn I had a follow-up PM appointment today. I haven't seen her in a couple of months. We stopped my Cymbalta about a month ago and it made a HUGE difference in how I feel mentally and emotionally. Apparently that wasn't the drug for me, and it makes no difference in my pain, which was the point of going on it to begin with. I had a terrible fibromyalgia flare-up before Thanksgiving. The worst in a long time. To the point I had to crawl up the stairs and go down on my bum.
1571533 tn?1322943509 Hi Sandy! My doctor also prescribed me the Lidocaine patch for my hip and lower back. (didn't have neck or upper back pain at that time) They only worked for about a day and they also wouldn't stick to my body but I just found out last week that I tore a ligament in my hip so that my be why they didn't work. I hope your dr.can find the right med that helps with your pain!
Avatar n tn Not to my knowledge, there is nothing that can cause a positive cocaine result.
Avatar n tn Re: Lidocaine Enemas. I am warning everyone to be careful. My brother just died 3/31/12 from a lidocaine enema. He was only 28. (Lidocaine Intoxication) Lidocaine in liquid form. I don't want anyone elses loved ones to die like this. I hope everyone will be careful when dealing w/lidocaine. it is a dangerous substance when not used properly.

383138 tn?1314167773 They wont inject lidocaine into a vein for pain... If they did any dose they give would be negligable for your heart.
Avatar m tn Getting lidocaine for wisdom tooth extraction--felt the needle going in and woke up 45 minutes later in ER. I had had a seizure! Hundreds of shots for teeth over the years, never any such experience. Surgeon swore he found no blood in syringe and couldn't understand why I seized. Swore he did everything right, never heard of lidocaine causing a seizure this way. Apologized profusely. I'm now worried about completing the extraction, which has to be done.
639543 tn?1297027634 It depends on how much time the Dr. spent on cleaning you up/suctioning. My last olnly lasted 2 1/2 weeks. But they say you can bleed up to 6 weeks. The longest mine ever was was 4 weeks.
306455 tn?1288862071 I used them for a couple of years for my knee and back and they worked great. But I never thought about the possiblity of addiction and can't find any info if they are.
Avatar m tn Hi, six months after my left-side thoracotomy I was yesterday told by my surgeon (USA) that I need to get Lidocaine intercostal nerve-block injections for a persistent pain issue I'm having. Here in my country, Cyprus, though, it's impossible to find someone who has experience in injecting Lidocaine on the thorax. So, my second option is UK, but still I would need to find someone specialized on this type of nerve-block. Any recommendations?
Avatar f tn My dentist gives me my shot and see another patient, by the time he got back to me I was fully numb. and the numbness last for 8 - 12 hours. I am highly allergic to lidocaine it puts me into anaphylactic shock, I have an epipen but sa that I don't have to use that I just make sure everyone is doing their job and I always wear my medic alert bracelet.
Avatar f tn If their trach secretions tend to fly out a lot, make sure you are using goggles when suctioning them. Same with it also helps protect you from mrsa too. if you are caring for someone in their home, make sure they are doing all the cleaning and proper laundering that needs done to prevent mrsa from being transmitted in a household.
