Lidocaine for painful intercourse

Common Questions and Answers about Lidocaine for painful intercourse

lidoderm

Avatar f tn A few years ago my mom was diagnosed with vaginal and rectal cancer in the end the doctor prescribed her lidocaine 2% jelly for painful intercourse and bowel movements. Would it be safe to use it during anal sex? I have used it before after the birth of my daughter and it worked wonders. I would like an idea on it before I did use it.
Avatar f tn By using lube, lidocaine and my dilators for months I was finally able to have Intercourse for the the very first time. And each time to have intercourse i would use my dilators before to stretch and numb everything before having sex if I don't use these things it feels like there is no entry to my vagina and if my husband tries to enter it feels like it's ripping apart the pain is excruciating.
Avatar n tn Mine was fairly painful. I did have the lidocaine, but the radiologist really had to kind of dig around to get where he wanted to be. If I had to do it again, I'd definitely ask for a Valium to take beforehand. Hopefully, yours will go well. A lot of people breezed through theirs just fine.
Avatar m tn Today i was having sex with my new girlfriend for the first time and i realized that my penis would go numb during intercourse and it felt so uncomfortable that i had to take it out, and as soon as i did that the numbness would go away. Then when i start again i would feel okay for few seconds but again the numbness would hit back. What could possibly be wrong? I haven't had this problem ever in my life and i dont feel numbed when i masturbate.
675417 tn?1226168592 Vaginal pressure/pain that flares up then resolves is seen as well. Patients also complain of a hot stabbing pain, and intercourse is often very painful. The bladder base shares a common wall with the upper wall of the vagina, so bladder pain is often felt in the vagina. Many patients find that placing a warm pad/heating pad on the labia helps. I assume that your gynecologist has evaluated you and you don't have a prolapsed bladder. That needs to be ruled out.
Avatar f tn Hi ladies! I am 33 weeks pregnant and for the last couple of weeks having sex with my husband has been pretty painful. I can't get into it like how I used to and he feels too big for me like if he's tearing me. This is strange to me because usually sex felt great up until now. Also my sex drive is pretty much gone I'm never in the mood for it. Anyone else going through this? Wanted to see if it's normal, Thanks!
Avatar f tn You need to go to the doctor (OB) for a thorough exam. You could have a cyst, or something else. Intercourse, as a rule should not be painful. Your body is telling you something isn't right. Get in to see your doc. Good luck!
Avatar f tn Thanks for the reply, haven't tried lube, but have some on hand. Yes, I have seen my doctor when my vaginal sores have been present and they were swabbed, hence, I found out that HSV 1 was isolated. Is having a culture different than the swab that was taken? Also, is it possible that the sores could be something else? I am new at figuring out when my outbreak is coming on. Have a prescription for acyclovir already. Tasha.
Avatar f tn I am not pregnant I got checked when I went the er for the dizziness. They took blood, and urine. Not sure what they tested for but it all same back normal they said. My period ended two days ago. Last night during intercourse if felt like my husband got something (which I assume is cervix due to the way we were "grinding" ) anyway I started bleeding afterwards and it hasn't stopped I was in a little pain this am but has gone away.
Avatar f tn Vulvodynia is a another reason for pain. Visit www.nva.org for more information.
Avatar f tn I am going thru menopause and have not had sex in about 3 years (no lobito), anyway I had sex recently and it was very painful... like my vagina had closed up for business!!! It felt very constricted and as I said was extremely painful. What vaginal conditions can cause these types of symptoms? Has anyone else experienced this?
Avatar n tn But put all that together (and than some), My sex life with my hubby is not there. I feel bad for him, and I feel bad for me too. I do still crave intercourse, but the shere though of what I experience is to much to bare, and what starts out in my head as what will be enjoyable, is excruciatingly painful, to thye point that my sex life is not there. I know there are of course other ways to satisfy ones self , but would love to have pleasurable intercourse again.
2105456 tn?1334365047 I have had painful intercourse since I was 16 My first baby at 17 I had my 3 children c-section...Is that the reason I do not enjoy intercourse?
Avatar f tn I have seen a psychiatrist who concluded that there is nothing we to work on and the painfull intercourse is not comming from precious negative exerience. I have been tested for Genital Herpes, Hlamidia, Siphillis, yeast infection, BC, allergies and hormonal level. I wanna say that I wash my vagina only with water and never with soaps. All these tests come negativ. I had biopsy on the vaginal walls and cervix whihc shows mild diplacya and inflamation.
3284646 tn?1347097009 I would like any advice on what to do during sex as I have been having very painful flare ups during and sometimes for days after. I usually take Ibuprofen for the flare ups; sometimes they work and sometimes they don't. Many times I will have to stop during because the pain becomes extremely intense. I am still a newbie when it comes to IC, but I have been doing a lot of reading to educate myself. Any and all advice is welcome. This has just left me feeling very defeated.
Avatar f tn You are too young to be suffering so much. I understand that inflamation can be painful.. but, what did the doctor say you could do for this. C'mon... there have to be more answers out there. Check out my profile to find the last number of posts to others... I recommend a book that was very helpful to me. Drop a note if you need to. I waited three months after my radical hysterectomy before attempting intercourse. Things went very well, except I did have some bleeding afterwards...
393893 tn?1283551230 My husbnd and I have a wonderful sex life however, most of the time it is so painful for me but I still do it just because. I have had a laparascopy and other tests. The weird thing is that for some reason when I am on my period (I know it sounds really gross) it doesn't hurt AT ALL. I find myself reaching orgasm more easily and I am much more relaxed. I was just wondering if anyone knows what may be happening in my body to cause this?
Avatar f tn It hasn't been painful yet, but I don't remember the last we actually had sex. I think a few weeks. I have either been sick with colds, too tired, or in pain from something else pregnancy related, that I have no desire. I am sure my husband cat wait for baby to come and I start feeling somewhat normal again.
Avatar f tn Hi ladies. So I've been reading that women often have painful intercourse for different reasons. Be it endometriosis, cysts, dryness etc, there's so much that women can have going on that causes pain. I'm curious, if you have pain, where is your pain? And what do you do to make it better?
