Avatar f tn m experiencing with my eye is nothing even close to a migraine. We have tried various pain meds and meds for migraine relief, non of which have worked.
Avatar n tn Hi all, I am an 18 year old female (155lbs, 5'8"). I am currently embarking on my journey through my first year of college. Three weeks ago I had a migraine headache that woke me up in the middle of the night. It felt like someone was stabbing me in the right eye with an ice pick. The migraine was located on the right side of my head and remained unilateral (in terms of pain). This lasted for 3-4 hours.
Avatar f tn I have had a constant headache for three years now. I've had a C6-7 discectomy with fusion in October 2008. I had a C4-C6 discectomy with cages and fusion with the hardware removed from C6-C7. I've been to headache clinics in Chicago, sports medecine and rehab doctors, physical therapy, acupuncture, neurologists, rheumatologists, 2 spine centers, pain management, and biofeedback.
Avatar f tn Hi, I am not a doctor but have had very good luck taking Excedrin Migraine for mine. If you haven't tried it, it is definitely worth a try. It's an over the counter medication. For me, it completely knocks out the pain very quickly.
Avatar n tn I am always interested in alternatives I just know I need to be careful because I do take rx meds for other health issues I do not want anything that will interact with them or effect my health other issues. I also would want my primary care doctor to know about this and I would want to have some peer reviewed research to give him.
Avatar f tn There are no contraindications for using lidocaine for the purpose described. The only danger is that lidocaine completely anesthetizes tissue, which is why you can cut or suture an area treated by lidocaine. Thus it is possible to cause a tear or injury that would not be noticed until the lidocaine wore off. In the case of normal intercourse, this should not be a problem.
Avatar n tn This is a question for your doctor or a pharmacist.
Avatar n tn I drive 60% of the day in a state car. I have been off for 4 months now. I am still waiting for a dignosis and seeing yet another speacialist for a second opinon. I have been on Depacote ER that left me with thoughts of harming myself and others, Topamax, allergic reaction and made attacks worse. Neurontin up to 1200mgs per day, it no longer works. My next drug could be Lamictal, it has a possible deadly rash or Namenda, a altztimers drug that my not be covered by insurance.
Avatar f tn Can aspercreme with lidocaine be used on a burn caused by a flame if its not blistered
Avatar m tn I am terrified of needles too and I FELT NOTHING.. They used Buffered Lidocaine injection which I did not feel any of.. I must admit, I did put over the counter Lidocaine cream all over my breast about an hour before the procedure. I used this Lidocaine cream on my arm before a tetanus shot that I had to get and was so afraid of and I was screaming for the nurse to WAIT but.. IT WAS ALREADY DONE! Helps a lot so you don't feel pain. Nurse also gave me tips for next time I get an injection.
Avatar n tn I was on the wait list for like 7 months! He is also suggesting Primary Trochlear Headache as a suggestion for my pain. I'm going back on July 24th to get an injection of a numbing agent and clonodine. I live in the metro Detroit area by the way. Would love to keep in touch about our progress.
Avatar n tn Hello, My sister needs extensive dental work i.e. root canals and fillings and crowns. She is a heart patient and we are wondering if Lidocaine, EPI, or any of the 'caines' are safe for dental work in heart patients? We do not want to start an arrythmia attack. Any safe meds? Thanks much.
234449 tn?1429109070 yesterday and they scheduled an upper endoscopy! 20 more days though. I am drinking lidocaine for now and taking regular tylenol. Its my upper stomach and goes into my ribs and breast but only on left side. He said could be muscular skeletal but doesn't explain my vomiting and diarrhea though so it has to be stomach or ulcers or something. I can't even do anything. Drive, Eat, Sleep, Walk standing straight up, it's horrible.
Avatar f tn Has anyone ever been prescribed this for genital outbreaks or PHN? My doctor did for PHN. I just tried it for the first time it hurt to apply and doesn't feel the most pleasant now. Has anyone ever used this and what was your experience?
Avatar f tn I had a follow-up PM appointment today. I haven't seen her in a couple of months. We stopped my Cymbalta about a month ago and it made a HUGE difference in how I feel mentally and emotionally. Apparently that wasn't the drug for me, and it makes no difference in my pain, which was the point of going on it to begin with. I had a terrible fibromyalgia flare-up before Thanksgiving. The worst in a long time. To the point I had to crawl up the stairs and go down on my bum.
1571533 tn?1322943509 Hi Sandy! My doctor also prescribed me the Lidocaine patch for my hip and lower back. (didn't have neck or upper back pain at that time) They only worked for about a day and they also wouldn't stick to my body but I just found out last week that I tore a ligament in my hip so that my be why they didn't work. I hope your dr.can find the right med that helps with your pain!
7636042 tn?1392841119 I've been suffering from a constant migraine for just about 6 months straight with no relief. I've been on all sorts of anti depressants, anti convulsants and onset meds such as Imitrex, Maxalt, Relpax, etc. for years now. I've had nerve blocks for a while now... which only seemed to relieve the pain down to where I could at least function normally and not be in too much pain for about 3 hours to a few days.
Avatar n tn Not to my knowledge, there is nothing that can cause a positive cocaine result.
Avatar f tn Good ole Motrin works very well too for a lot of things, and surprisingly, Excedrin migraine works for all kinds of pain too (for me anyway). I swear by that! Ask your doc. Rx strength Motrin seems to work better, and you may not need it as often. Have you tried that? Sometimes alternating between something like tylenol and motrin will work too.
Avatar n tn Re: Lidocaine Enemas. I am warning everyone to be careful. My brother just died 3/31/12 from a lidocaine enema. He was only 28. (Lidocaine Intoxication) Lidocaine in liquid form. I don't want anyone elses loved ones to die like this. I hope everyone will be careful when dealing w/lidocaine. it is a dangerous substance when not used properly.
Avatar m tn my co-worker gave me a new 10ml bottle of lidocaine, he uses it to give himself stitches. advice as to where to put the needle (i got from cvs insulin 31g-8mm),what to expect ie: will it burn- how long b4 its numb, and if i split the nail will it grow back? any advice will help..
Avatar n tn During the lidocaine infiltration test, lidocaine anesthetic is administered to the area where the styloid process is palpable in the tonsillar fossa. If the patient’s symptoms and local sensitivity subside the test result is considered positive and Eagle’s syndrome is diagnosed.
383138 tn?1314167773 They wont inject lidocaine into a vein for pain... If they did any dose they give would be negligable for your heart.
Avatar f tn None of this work, I would continue to vomit for several hours. They put in an IV for hydration. Then they would stick in a NG tube which stopped the vomiting and give me something like ativan to relax me and reduce anxiety. They would admit me where the pain would continue for a few days and they would give me a low dose of IV pain meds. They would do CT Scans, x-rays, occasional endoscopies but they could never figure out what was wrong.
Avatar m tn Getting lidocaine for wisdom tooth extraction--felt the needle going in and woke up 45 minutes later in ER. I had had a seizure! Hundreds of shots for teeth over the years, never any such experience. Surgeon swore he found no blood in syringe and couldn't understand why I seized. Swore he did everything right, never heard of lidocaine causing a seizure this way. Apologized profusely. I'm now worried about completing the extraction, which has to be done.
