How soon did you belly go down?? And how soon can you start to workout?? Also for ladies that did tear how soon did you start to get relief? I just had my daughter 5 days ago and I had to get 4 stitches because I tore on one side (her hand was in front of her face)....when do they start to feel better? Also tmi but I burn a little when I pee is that normal? And to feel tighter??
If you get an epidural you won't feel it rip our sewn, at least I didn't. But the recovery is very uncomfortable for over a week every time you pee.
Any of you ladies have episiotomy? How long did it take you to recover? I had my princess 11 days ago and still very painful.
There are no contraindications for using lidocaine for the purpose described. The only danger is that lidocaine completely anesthetizes tissue, which is why you can cut or suture an area treated by lidocaine. Thus it is possible to cause a tear or injury that would not be noticed until the lidocaine wore off. In the case of normal intercourse, this should not be a problem.

The doc said not to have sex for 6 weeks. For those who got an episiotomy, How long did you actually wait.
For already mommies, did you get the episiotomy while giving birth or not. If so did you like it and are you normal down there now?
I had a second degree tear and an episiotomy with my first. With my second I had an episiotomy. I hurt for weeks with my first. With my second I didntf have any feeling in my legs for two months post partum, but I didn't have any vaginal pain post partum. I'm not sure if it was just numb, I just didnt have any pain, or if my son being in the nicu and my leg situation just had me too stressed to acknowledge the pain.
You can request that they not cut you.
I am terrified of needles too and I FELT NOTHING.. They used Buffered Lidocaine injection which I did not feel any of.. I must admit, I did put over the counter Lidocaine cream all over my breast about an hour before the procedure. I used this Lidocaine cream on my arm before a tetanus shot that I had to get and was so afraid of and I was screaming for the nurse to WAIT but.. IT WAS ALREADY DONE! Helps a lot so you don't feel pain.
Nurse also gave me tips for next time I get an injection.
Didn't have one but I tore bad enough that am episiotomy might have been better! My recovery took quite a while. Took four weeks for my sex drive to return and even then it hurt far too bad to try for a few more weeks. It took close to a year to feel completely normal again.
I had an episiotomy for my first. My doctor asked my permission first and I agreed. If she didn't ask I really don't think I would have known it was done. Lol. I healed up quickly and just fine. It hasn't effected me at all. :)
My Aunt ripped both ways for her second son and she said she healed up just fine.
No one wants to be cut or to rip but it happens sometimes. You'll be okay. :)

I gave birth 10months ago. I just found out my episiotomy sight is bleeding because my husband and i tried having sex. He travelled for 6 months and just came back. But i had sex with him before he left and baby was almost 4months then and i didnt bleed. Help, wat do i do?
Hi I have a question for the expert gynaecologists out there. During the birth of my daughter I had to have an episiotomy. This didn't heal correctly and when I went to see the gp they treated it with silver nitrate, which didn't work. I have not been able to get a straight answer as to whether this is a normal treatment or if they were incorrect in doing this? Please help as this is really making me feel upset and down.
When I had my first daughter, I had it put in my chart that I did not want an episiotomy. In fact the doctor I had asked to add it to my chart was the one who was there for the delivery (I went through 3 shift changes with my first) and the one I liked the most. The day of the delivery, he remembered and everything went fine.
