Now I have developed a chronic cough for the last 2 mos. It used to happen only at night when I lay down but now it happens during the day. I spray my throat with chloraseptic as it has lidocaine in it. The last week I woke up with terrible throat pain and swelling in my lymph notes at the sides of my throat. I couldn't talk at all for 2 days and that made it go away. But the cough is still there. I am really getting concerned.
There are no contraindications for using lidocaine for the purpose described. The only danger is that lidocaine completely anesthetizes tissue, which is why you can cut or suture an area treated by lidocaine. Thus it is possible to cause a tear or injury that would not be noticed until the lidocaine wore off. In the case of normal intercourse, this should not be a problem.
t give time for the lidocaine to set in before he began the procedure. After the 3rd biopsy I told him we were going to have to stop the test because of the pain. At that point he told the nurse to give more lidocaine. After the 2nd shot it became bearable but he was still very rough in his technique
Besides the bruising and soreness, I experienced ear pain yesterday and today my throat and esophagus feel strange. My gums feel as though I have flossed them vigorously in that they feel swollen.
I am terrified of needles too and I FELT NOTHING.. They used Buffered Lidocaine injection which I did not feel any of.. I must admit, I did put over the counter Lidocaine cream all over my breast about an hour before the procedure. I used this Lidocaine cream on my arm before a tetanus shot that I had to get and was so afraid of and I was screaming for the nurse to WAIT but.. IT WAS ALREADY DONE! Helps a lot so you don't feel pain.
Nurse also gave me tips for next time I get an injection.
I got a fever and chills, which subsided after two days and for the following week I had a cough and a stuffy nose. The fever came back the next week though for a few days. After that I was barely sick at all but the fever came back the week after that, once I had gotten home, and this time it didn't leave. I became very sick, vomiting several times a day. I went to a clinic where the doctor spent maybe five minutes with me, said it was a sinus infection and gave me meds.
Hello, My sister needs extensive dental work i.e. root canals and fillings and crowns. She is a heart patient and we are wondering if Lidocaine, EPI, or any of the 'caines' are safe for dental work in heart patients? We do not want to start an arrythmia attack. Any safe meds? Thanks much.
I had a follow-up PM appointment today. I haven't seen her in a couple of months. We stopped my Cymbalta about a month ago and it made a HUGE difference in how I feel mentally and emotionally. Apparently that wasn't the drug for me, and it makes no difference in my pain, which was the point of going on it to begin with.
I had a terrible fibromyalgia flare-up before Thanksgiving. The worst in a long time. To the point I had to crawl up the stairs and go down on my bum.
I was hospitalized twice, they did a stomach emptying test which showed normal, two endoscopies, which were normal, a motility test which was normal, and did a PH test, which was normal, but I was in such severe pain that I was given straight lidocaine to drink for the discomfort. They still don't know what the problem was, but at one point, was admitted in critical condition.
Not to my knowledge, there is nothing that can cause a positive cocaine result.
Re: Lidocaine Enemas. I am warning everyone to be careful. My brother just died 3/31/12 from a lidocaine enema. He was only 28. (Lidocaine Intoxication) Lidocaine in liquid form. I don't want anyone elses loved ones to die like this. I hope everyone will be careful when dealing w/lidocaine. it is a dangerous substance when not used properly.
my co-worker gave me a new 10ml bottle of lidocaine, he uses it to give himself stitches. advice as to where to put the needle (i got from cvs insulin 31g-8mm),what to expect ie: will it burn- how long b4 its numb, and if i split the nail will it grow back? any advice will help..
Getting lidocaine for wisdom tooth extraction--felt the needle going in and woke up 45 minutes later in ER. I had had a seizure! Hundreds of shots for teeth over the years, never any such experience. Surgeon swore he found no blood in syringe and couldn't understand why I seized. Swore he did everything right, never heard of lidocaine causing a seizure this way. Apologized profusely. I'm now worried about completing the extraction, which has to be done.
Hi, six months after my left-side thoracotomy I was yesterday told by my surgeon (USA) that I need to get Lidocaine intercostal nerve-block injections for a persistent pain issue I'm having. Here in my country, Cyprus, though, it's impossible to find someone who has experience in injecting Lidocaine on the thorax. So, my second option is UK, but still I would need to find someone specialized on this type of nerve-block. Any recommendations?
My dentist gives me my shot and see another patient, by the time he got back to me I was fully numb. and the numbness last for 8 - 12 hours. I am highly allergic to lidocaine it puts me into anaphylactic shock, I have an epipen but sa that I don't have to use that I just make sure everyone is doing their job and I always wear my medic alert bracelet.
It's not likely. It could be one of the other "caines": Marcaine,Lidocaine, etc...anesthetics like Novacaine that you get at the dentist. Pharmeceutical grade cocaine is used medically but more for nose,throat surgeries.
