Lidocaine for circumcision

Common Questions and Answers about Lidocaine for circumcision

lidoderm

Avatar f tn They do. It's so much better for them and I have heard horific stories from peds for children who waited and needed it due to recurring uti's. They have too then go under general anesthesia at 18 months and my instructor told me the poor baby didn't make it through the anesthesia. Thats a true horror story.
Avatar f tn Plus they do use lidocaine for the procedure....if baby is fussy after Tylenol works well.
Avatar f tn There are no contraindications for using lidocaine for the purpose described. The only danger is that lidocaine completely anesthetizes tissue, which is why you can cut or suture an area treated by lidocaine. Thus it is possible to cause a tear or injury that would not be noticed until the lidocaine wore off. In the case of normal intercourse, this should not be a problem.
Avatar n tn This is a question for your doctor or a pharmacist.
202436 tn?1326474333 So I just saw where two California cities will have a thing on their ballots for the "Male Genital Mutilation" bill. If it passes, ANY parent who circumcises there son will face a $1,000 fine and a year in jail. Even if it's for religious reasons. Since when is circumcision the governmentes business? Whether you believe in circumcision or not, I think it's the parents right to choose.
Avatar m tn Hi, This ballooning depicts that your son is suffering from phimosis and the definitive treatment for the same is circumcision only. Hence, I’ll suggest you to follow the advice given by the urologist and get the circumcision done. Using a steroid cream etc is only a temporary treatment and unless & until the root cause is taken care of (phimosis), the problem will keep on recurring. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.

Avatar n tn There is a product online for scar reduction call Rejuveness. I have used it for a scar on my forehead and it works. It should also be fine for circumcision scars, but you have to make sure your penis doesn't get constricted with the tape during an erection (so maybe don't wear it at night). http://www.rejuveness.com Also, you can find over the counter scar reduction systems, such as Mederma, at your local pharmacy.
Avatar f tn Can aspercreme with lidocaine be used on a burn caused by a flame if its not blistered
Avatar m tn I am terrified of needles too and I FELT NOTHING.. They used Buffered Lidocaine injection which I did not feel any of.. I must admit, I did put over the counter Lidocaine cream all over my breast about an hour before the procedure. I used this Lidocaine cream on my arm before a tetanus shot that I had to get and was so afraid of and I was screaming for the nurse to WAIT but.. IT WAS ALREADY DONE! Helps a lot so you don't feel pain. Nurse also gave me tips for next time I get an injection.
Avatar f tn My son went to an urologist when he was about 8 months so be examined for an circumcision. The urologist pulled his foreskin completely back at the time. My son cried and bled. The urologist then applied cream to it to calm the pain (i'm guessing). My son hasn't had any complications or anything and he's almost 3 now, but from what i've been reading, the foreskin should never be forcefully pulled back because it can cause problems.
435139 tn?1255460391 Our insurance does not cover circumcision because it is not medically necessary. For our first son we paid $250 for it, nowhere near $600.
Avatar n tn Hello, My sister needs extensive dental work i.e. root canals and fillings and crowns. She is a heart patient and we are wondering if Lidocaine, EPI, or any of the 'caines' are safe for dental work in heart patients? We do not want to start an arrythmia attack. Any safe meds? Thanks much.
Avatar f tn Has anyone ever been prescribed this for genital outbreaks or PHN? My doctor did for PHN. I just tried it for the first time it hurt to apply and doesn't feel the most pleasant now. Has anyone ever used this and what was your experience?
Avatar f tn I had a follow-up PM appointment today. I haven't seen her in a couple of months. We stopped my Cymbalta about a month ago and it made a HUGE difference in how I feel mentally and emotionally. Apparently that wasn't the drug for me, and it makes no difference in my pain, which was the point of going on it to begin with. I had a terrible fibromyalgia flare-up before Thanksgiving. The worst in a long time. To the point I had to crawl up the stairs and go down on my bum.
1571533 tn?1322943509 Hi Sandy! My doctor also prescribed me the Lidocaine patch for my hip and lower back. (didn't have neck or upper back pain at that time) They only worked for about a day and they also wouldn't stick to my body but I just found out last week that I tore a ligament in my hip so that my be why they didn't work. I hope your dr.can find the right med that helps with your pain!
396278 tn?1207693392 My son is going in for a circumcision and penoplasty on Tuesday for phimosis. His scrotum is also too close to the head of his penis. His foreskin "balloons" when he urinates and it causes him a great deal of pain. i know I'm doing the right thing, but has anyone else been through this. I'm pretty nervous about the whole thing. Lots of horror stories on the web about this surgery. Surely there's some good stories too, right?! Help me out here.
Avatar m tn Besides, the inner surface of the foreskin has thousands of erogenous nerve endings. All these are removed during circumcision. This is even more true for the frenulum. It is not more complicated than that: there is a reason why men are born with foreskin.
Avatar n tn Not to my knowledge, there is nothing that can cause a positive cocaine result.
Avatar m tn Circumcision may relieve this condition but is not indicated solely for treating frenulum breve. So, in case frenulum breve is treated by circumcision, then there is a possibility of the above mentioned complications, but not always. All the best.
Avatar f tn Circumcision is a very personal choice and one you need to decide for yourself. There are pros and cons regardless of the path you choose, and both have their own risks. It is for the most part only routinely done in the United States, and in select places of the world for cultural/religious reasons. In most baby's if it's done it will be when he is a few days old.
Avatar n tn Is it really must that for me I need to go for circumcision for my Belanitis problem? If not, then how can i make sure, that i come out of this problem. Please help me out. Thanks!!!!
