They do. It's so much better for them and I have heard horific stories from peds for children who waited and needed it due to recurring uti's. They have too then go under general anesthesia at 18 months and my instructor told me the poor baby didn't make it through the anesthesia. Thats a true horror story.
There are no contraindications for using lidocaine for the purpose described. The only danger is that lidocaine completely anesthetizes tissue, which is why you can cut or suture an area treated by lidocaine. Thus it is possible to cause a tear or injury that would not be noticed until the lidocaine wore off. In the case of normal intercourse, this should not be a problem.

This ballooning depicts that your son is suffering from phimosis and the definitive treatment for the same is circumcision only. Hence, I’ll suggest you to follow the advice given by the urologist and get the circumcision done. Using a steroid cream etc is only a temporary treatment and unless & until the root cause is taken care of (phimosis), the problem will keep on recurring. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.

There is a product online for scar reduction call Rejuveness. I have used it for a scar on my forehead and it works. It should also be fine for circumcision scars, but you have to make sure your penis doesn't get constricted with the tape during an erection (so maybe don't wear it at night).

I am terrified of needles too and I FELT NOTHING.. They used Buffered Lidocaine injection which I did not feel any of.. I must admit, I did put over the counter Lidocaine cream all over my breast about an hour before the procedure. I used this Lidocaine cream on my arm before a tetanus shot that I had to get and was so afraid of and I was screaming for the nurse to WAIT but.. IT WAS ALREADY DONE! Helps a lot so you don't feel pain.
Nurse also gave me tips for next time I get an injection.
My son went to an urologist when he was about 8 months so be examined for an circumcision. The urologist pulled his foreskin completely back at the time. My son cried and bled. The urologist then applied cream to it to calm the pain (i'm guessing). My son hasn't had any complications or anything and he's almost 3 now, but from what i've been reading, the foreskin should never be forcefully pulled back because it can cause problems.
Hello, My sister needs extensive dental work i.e. root canals and fillings and crowns. She is a heart patient and we are wondering if Lidocaine, EPI, or any of the 'caines' are safe for dental work in heart patients? We do not want to start an arrythmia attack. Any safe meds? Thanks much.
I had a follow-up PM appointment today. I haven't seen her in a couple of months. We stopped my Cymbalta about a month ago and it made a HUGE difference in how I feel mentally and emotionally. Circumcision may relieve this condition but is not indicated solely for treating frenulum breve. So, in case frenulum breve is treated by circumcision, then there is a possibility of the above mentioned complications, but not always.

Circumcision is a very personal choice and one you need to decide for yourself. There are pros and cons regardless of the path you choose, and both have their own risks. It is for the most part only routinely done in the United States, and in select places of the world for cultural/religious reasons. In most baby's if it's done it will be when he is a few days old.
