Avatar n tn effects of Benadryl abuse can include increased heart rate, insomnia, kidney and liver damage http://allergyhero.
Avatar n tn this is a swish ‘n swallow formula that is concocted by the local pharmacy. It contains Maloxx, lidocaine, and benadryl, and can provide near immediate relief. Most of the mouth sores we get straighten out shortly after treatment terminates.
Avatar f tn I took just 1, enough for me to know that I didn't want anymore, then looked up the side effects and knew for sure I didn't want more! Some listed were same as what I already have.
Avatar f tn s correct that local anesthetics contain both lidocaine and adrenalin (epinephrine). They both can have effects on the heart, adrenalin has an obvious effect and lidocaine is actually an antiarrhythmic drug (class 1b sodium blocker) which may have proarrhythmic effects. The problem is - adrenalin is added to prevent the lidocaine from having systemic effects, the blood vessels are constricted. If you have reactions towards lidocaine, choosing the one without adrenalin would be bad.
Avatar f tn So I have really bad vaginismus to the point where intercourse can only be done with a lot of lidocaine and with the help of dilators. I am 15 weeks pregnant and concerned about delivery. Will my vaginismus prevent me from vaginal delivery? Is anyone else dealing with or has dealt with this??
Avatar f tn You definitely need to get some high quality moisturizer and start lathering your body with it. Also note – hot water dries out the skin. If possible, you might feel better if you skipped a daily shower when possible. The nausea stinks big time. The Pegasys folks are pretty clear that this particular side effect doesn't last and in my case it didn't. After about a month it went away. Try to eat small, frequent meals. Anything you like. Cold food is better than hot food.
Avatar m tn Initially it has slightly reduced my heart palpitations which are less forceful, stopped some irregular or PACs and cut out the dreaming side effect of Coreg. However recently I have noticed that the color of my blood (taken to test blood sugar) is a distinct chocolate-brown color similar to whenever I have had to use Nitro tabs/patches for angina attacks. I have also been affected by regular bouts of diarrhea.
Avatar n tn I had 4 FNA's, 3 on the left and one on the right side. To me, the lidocaine injections are nothing and I wish I could have had multiple injections of it. I got a double dose on the left. My doctor was gentle and calming, but the severe achey feeling deep inside my neck during the aspiration was not pleasant. I let out a couple of grunts during the procedure from the discomfort.
Avatar n tn I had to discontinue today because of side effects and I have no idea if this was a wise choice or not before having the extraction. I would feel a whole lot better without using any anesthetic during the procedure since I had a terrible experience back in 1989 when I was given a skin test for Lidocaine and Meprivacaine? both WITHOUT EPINEPHRINE,YES,WITHOUT EPINEPHRINE and I made sure of that before the skin test. They had to discontinue the Lidocaine because of heart side effects.
Avatar f tn I had to get stitches last night, and was given 5-6 shots of epinephrine and lidocane. I told the intake nurse I was taking synthroid (which I presume implies thyroid problems). I felt a little "unusual" afterward (pounding heart, feeling calm and detached..), and was googling the side effects of the shot.. an article said this: "Additionally, epinephrine and lidocaine usually aren’t used in patients with thyroid disease, or disease of the kidneys or liver.
14051 tn?1238251732 I have had MRIs and EMGs, regular X-rays including on my hip, and I do have nerve damage on the right side, and I have slight foraminal narrowing on the right-L5-S1 and left-L4-5. Today I saw the Physiatrist for the second time and had an injection in my right hip to see if may help with some pain as it is hard to sit, walk, sleep, on & on.
Avatar n tn Everyone keeps telling me this is normal due to an increased volume at the injection site which is causing inflammation around the nerve. But, I have been on NSAIDs for 5 days and wearing a lidocaine patch on the injection site with no relief. Please help. I am terrified this is permanent. I just feel like no one is listening to how serious this could potentially be.
Avatar m tn Sorry to hear you are having that particular side effect. I will share my experience because you are not alone. I developed some small external hemorrhoids within just 2-3 days of starting incivek. About the 4th day I developed severe (internal) rectal pain every single time I passed stools, even when they were soft, which they always were after starting the medications. The best description of the pain is that I felt like I was passing shards of glass (and that is NOT an exaggeration).
Avatar f tn ) lidocaine patch There all really different and they each have pros and cons, as well as a big spectrum of side effects -- for example, in the forums here, I see people mentioning the hell they go through withdrawing from fentanyl. And at the same time, it looks like withdrawing from buprenorphine (or any opiate for that matter) is no walk in the park, either.
Avatar n tn It has a lot of possible side effects and can be addictive. It is suppose to stop the neurotransmittors that send pain signals to the brain. You should use caution when using it, and for more info. you can google it. There is a lot of info. on it. Best of luck to you.
Avatar m tn Are the effects short or long term. Are there side effects. Can this damage the eardrum or hearing?
Avatar f tn Mayo clinic diagnosed me last winter with bracioradial pruritis and wanted to start me on either neurontin or one of two other drugs. My local doctor was wary of all the side effects and wanted to try a neurontin cream compounded with doxipen and lidocaine. This combo seems to help some days but other days it makes the itch so much worse. Has anyone else tried these compounded creams? What strength and what were the medications involved?
Avatar n tn I have a patient who instills buffered lidocaine into her bladder at home when leaving the house and gets a few hour of relief, enough to do her exercise and out of the house activities pain free. I give 5 daily treatments in the clinic initially and see what the response is. If the patient gets relies we teach you to do it at home and give her prescriptions for the supplies. If nothing elso works, this is an option.
Avatar n tn There is a class of medications used for this but they have side effects but they are worth trying to see if you can tolerate. There is also a surgery where they can put a bit of teflon under the nerve to help. Also try acupuncture and biofeedback and see if you have success. I do well with acupuncture.

3112530 tn?1434032033 Other than this anesthetics such as lidocaine, BOTOX and steroids can be injected into the muscle. However, use of lidocaine and botox has its own side effects. A mix- and match of these treatment options have to be tried. Failure to achieve pain relief can be due to obturator internus muscle injury. Do discuss this with your doctor. Take care!
Avatar f tn This is only somewhat related to the deep concern you have for your child. I had a lidocaine (?) injection which was one of dozens over the years. One such numbing up caused me heart palpitations and my face went white. The doctor gave me oxygen to breathe while I got over it. I really can't say why that one injection caused that reaction after having so many many over the years.
2207073 tn?1338931916 He gained about 30+ lbs in a second! And was hostile, and talked in rhyme, and FINALLY, after telling his oncologist daily how creepy he was feeling, I took him to UCSF and he saw another- younger oncologist, took one look at him, (I had told him about the erections), and he was removed instantly! He WAS psychotic, from the steroids! I never allowed him to use them for his treatment again. He was going to die anyway, why make him suffer just to prolong his life.
Avatar n tn //www.mayoclinic.org/drugs-supplements/benzocaine-topical-application-route/side-effects/drg-20072913?p=1 Have you ever talked to your doctor about using the wipes?
383138 tn?1314167773 But since I had such severe heart reaction to just a shot of lidocaine at dentist in the past, the cardiologist said I am lucky I didnt go into cardiac arrest at that time and if they put lidocaine in me again he said my heart may suddenly fail (sudden cardiac arrest) and it may not be able to recover next time. And the warnings on lidocaine (even for people w/out heart problems) are such things as: rare but possible arrhythmias and cardiac arrest.
