Avatar n tn Thank goodness depression is not one of the side effects I have. The only time I have ever taken Benadryl was in the hospital prior to blood transfusions.
14051 tn?1238251732 So, with that said, This morning, I had the same effects with the steroid/Lidocaine injection in my right hip/Trochanter as I did prior to the hardware removal. I immediately felt a sharp pain in the right side of my back when the doctor realeased the first part of the medicine, then I could feel fast relief in my right foot, leg, hip, groin, back. My doctor has no answers as to why it relieved the other pains. This again lasted only for 45 minutes.
Avatar m tn Are the effects short or long term. Are there side effects. Can this damage the eardrum or hearing?
Avatar n tn Everyone keeps telling me this is normal due to an increased volume at the injection site which is causing inflammation around the nerve. But, I have been on NSAIDs for 5 days and wearing a lidocaine patch on the injection site with no relief. Please help. I am terrified this is permanent. I just feel like no one is listening to how serious this could potentially be.
Avatar n tn Just doing a google search for "trigger point injections side effects" it comes up that low grade fevers 1 - 3 days after the injections can happen. Fevers make skin hurt - do you have a thermometer? Best wishes.
Avatar m tn i had a couple of shots in my shoulder and it relieved it immediately but man o man the side effects of that stuff is crazy...i got grouchy for about a week. As far as side effects and mixing meds i totally agree w. Ireneo....your best bet is to talk to a phymacist......you'll get all of your answers there....,.
Avatar f tn This is only somewhat related to the deep concern you have for your child. I had a lidocaine (?) injection which was one of dozens over the years. One such numbing up caused me heart palpitations and my face went white. The doctor gave me oxygen to breathe while I got over it. I really can't say why that one injection caused that reaction after having so many many over the years.
383138 tn?1314167773 wants to do a lidocaine IV infusion, he says IV infusion of lidocaine is different than the dental injection. My cardiologist says I can't have lidocaine at all, due to my past severe heart reaction to it, but my pain dr. thinks it will be OK and has scheduled me for infusion for pain relief for this Friday. I dont know what to do, so any info on the lidocaine and any contraidictions with heart arrhythmias would be helpful. Thankyou.
Avatar f tn You might want to do a bit more research on the timing of taking this injection It takes a few hours for the side effects to hit and by doing your injection just before bedtime the timing is you are feeling flu-like as you are waking in the morning. As I understand it, if you adjust the timing and do it several hours before bed, the flu-like symptoms occur more while you are asleep. There is good information on the page for Rebif, which is another interferon like betaseron - http://www.
Avatar f tn Hi all, I had an injection in summer 2013 and before that I was on the pill for about a week, and took some emergency contraception before all that. On average I was on the pill for just a week and half and had injection that last 3 months. Due to side effects I didn't return for second dose and I didn't take pills again. Can anyone tell me the long term side effects because my body has not been the same again.
Avatar n tn I had a FNA on Thursday and had been assured that the most painful part of the procedure was the injection of lidocaine. This was definitely not the case, as the physician didn't give time for the lidocaine to set in before he began the procedure. After the 3rd biopsy I told him we were going to have to stop the test because of the pain. At that point he told the nurse to give more lidocaine.
Avatar f tn t received any relief at all from the injection and teh side effects have been horrible this time.
1967803 tn?1325679473 ve been on a titration dose for about 5 weeks now and I can still see the the bruise from my first injection. A majority of the other injection sites are red blotches that are about 2 inches in diameter. These marks are mostly visible on my thighs and stomach. Sometimes I get a little residual pain and a red welt. I don't inject in the same area twice, I pre-medicate with Ibuprofen, I pinch, inject, let go, rub, apply Hydrocortisone cream.
2207073 tn?1338931916 I am glad to hear i am not alone, but sad that that means others are miserable too! :( i went in yesterday cuz the pain is so bad and lack of sleep too..they insist i get #3 on Monday(yay pain for the holiday) changed much gabapentin for cymbalta but have to wait for insurance to approve>:( gave me a tens unit and said i should wear a brace(luckily a friend had a really good one) and best yet, have passed me on to a surgeon!

Avatar f tn Hi everyone! I'm a 2B and just started my treatment 2 nights ago with my first injection. It went really well, and I still don't notice any side effects (sx?). I am taking pegintron and rebetol. Is this normal? I have been reading about all the side effects and had me pretty scared, but so far, I feel fine??
Avatar n tn i had similar side effects when coming off the depo shot. I thought i was pregnant and took 3 tests. they went away but it took about 6mo. My docs checked my hormones and pituitary gland and they we all fine. It's probably not the effexor but ck w/ your doc anyway.
1415174 tn?1453243103 I was on Lyrica for a few years until it stopped working at the dose I was on and when we increased the dose, I started experiencing horrible side effects that far outweighed any benefits. Right now I have pain meds, muscle relaxers and a sleep aid (sleep is always a big problem for me). I also use heating pads, warm showers, gentle stretching and as many relaxtion techniques as I can think of.
