The ophthalmologist said via a nurse, that he has given many people with caine allergies this drug without reactions as Lidocaine in the eye reacts differently than in other parts of the body. I need another opinion on that.
Actual consultation with any ophthalmologist at this clinic is difficult. I have no idea what type of surgery they will perform regarding removal of the old lens, what type of new lens they will insert adaptive or fixed.
They had to discontinue the Lidocaine because of heart side effects.But they finished with the other one and they thought that everything was fine and sent me home..The next day,BOOM! they hit with a vengence..P.V.C.S over and over again lasting for 3 weeks or so until they finally tapered off.They were happening around the clock when they hit and I swore if I ever lived thru it that I would never ,ever try any of the caines ever again and that any kind of PAIN was far better than this!
Natural Apple cider vinegar is supposed to do wonders. Just read up on it and find the best way to take it.
Two other allergists have suggested using Lidocaine with no epi or preservatives and premedicating with steroids and benedryl the day before and day of....
But I've discovered that Benedryl injected is a viable option (according to a professor of anesthesia at U of Florida) but I can't find a local dentist to do it...
Hello, My sister needs extensive dental work i.e. root canals and fillings and crowns. She is a heart patient and we are wondering if Lidocaine, EPI, or any of the 'caines' are safe for dental work in heart patients? We do not want to start an arrythmia attack. Any safe meds? Thanks much.
I have severe Fibromyaliga pain mostly in my back between my shoulder blades. The pain is so severe that without treatment I would need a wheelchair to get around.
I've been taking Tramadol 100mg for 3 years but its slowly losing its effect and I'm finding my pain getting worse again. So I am now looking for either an entirely new medication or something I can take on top of the Tramadol to help ease the pain.
they put my on antibiotics and viccodine ..this morning i felt better and at 12noon took my norvasc 5mg pill then around 5pm i stared felling clammy and hot and noticed my breathing was wierd..then when i went to the train to get a transit card my heart was beating outta my chest just for walking up the train station stairs...when i got home my bp was 143 over 100 and my heart rate was 104...
so they stopped with the Lido caine and continued with the other one until a full dose was injected under the skin of the inside of my forearm.
After the test I went home and everything seemed well except the next day while taking a shower,BAM!They hit with a vengeance.P.A.C.S every minute of every hour,one after another one like you would not believe...This lasted for an entire month and I have NEVER used any anaesthetics ever since...
I'm so sorry you're hurting. No other outbreak will hurt this badly, I promise.
You don't say if you're male or female, so I don't know if going to the bathroom hurts because you have sores on your vulva and the urine is hitting those sores, or because you have sores inside your urethra. Both are super painful, but drinking water will help in both cases. It helps dilute the acid in your urine which is why it hurts so much.

I am sorry that this has happened to you. Urine drug screens are looking for narcotics, THC and similar substances. Lidocaine is from the "cain" drug family of local numbing agents and not the "caine" drug family of cocaine an opiate. In spite of the similarity in names, these drugs are not very closely related chemically and their chemical structures are very different.

Medications, including viscous lidocaine, won't affect the outcome of your tests.
I am a 25 year old female and I had a seizure while having dental work done about 3 weeks ago. I had been given lidocaine and nitrous oxide. Following the appointment, I went to a neurologist and had a CT scan and an MRI done. Both showed no brain abnormalities. I had eclampsia 4 years ago and had seizures which resulted in the early delivery of my child. Aside from my seizures 4 years ago, I had no previous history of seizure disorder.
I was just recently diagnosed with mast cell activation disorder I am getting a bone marrow bx next week, I have been put on antihistamines for now I think all of us POTS patients need to be ter ested for this I had a skin bx and they found an increased number of mast cells in my skin and then an increase in my histamine level and three other increases in my blood that show mast cell activation disorder for now I do not know yet if I have the systemic type until I get the bone marrow.
ve had quite a few stellate ganglion blocks and have had some success. They thought the lidocaine infusion might help the other pain I deal with and kill two (or more) birds at the same time so to speak.
KittKat23-78, Sorry the infusion didn't help you!! I hadn't heard about having several a few days apart; I'll have to ask about it. Mine is (at least one) being paid for by worker's comp. I'm hopeful but also trying to keep things realistic and in perspective.
Mayo clinic diagnosed me last winter with bracioradial pruritis and wanted to start me on either neurontin or one of two other drugs. My local doctor was wary of all the side effects and wanted to try a neurontin cream compounded with doxipen and lidocaine. This combo seems to help some days but other days it makes the itch so much worse. Has anyone else tried these compounded creams? What strength and what were the medications involved?
I've used these on a limited basis for my TMD patients with mixed results. It was not effective enough for me to continue prescribing them. This and all other medications are pain management tools and don't address the cause, so don't eliminate pain. Vicodin and other opiod pain medications have been shown not to be the treatment of choice for chronic pain, and alter sleep architecture adversely.
I named my son Sylas and I love it! Good middle name is Caine. If we're having another boy, we're thinking Ronan.
I finally gave in to taking oxycodone, and take a few other scripts along with lidocaine patches on my neck at night to help put out the fire. I have problems swallowing, no one seems to have an answer for that. Riding and bounceing in a car have made my neck pain and headache worse for several years and even nausea associated with this. Now walking seems to trigger the same increase in neck pain, headache and nausea.
