I'm a 30 year old woman with nearly constant mild to moderate itching with several spurts a day of severe itching that keeps me from sleeping or focusing. It began three years ago during my 20th week of pregnancy and never left. I have tested negative for all allergens. I've had a kenalog shot, attarax, benzodiazepenes. I've used lidocaine, menthol, etc type lotions (and three or four prescription ones). Nothing helps. I don't have dry skin.
I recently received the Kenalog injection and had a reaction (month later) i've never had an irregular menstrual cycle and after the injection i've had a second one in one month. i've had slight dizziness and elevated headaches.
The over the counter medications such as Claritin and Tylenol allergy were not helping with my allergies and my doctor decided that kenalog was the way to go. it helped with my allergies but i'm afraid of the side effects.
I have seen my retina specialist two times since then and was told the kenalog created the problem and should clear up. Now I am taking prednisolone drops evert two hours. Has anyone else ever experianced this and how long does it take for the kenalog to dissolve. My vision in that eye was around 20/40 and it was believed that the kenalog could get my vision closer to 20/20. Which I was thrilled to hear but now I can not even see the eye chart.I will see my retina specialist next week.
After surgery my eye appeared clear and normal. At my next day check-up I was injected in that eye with kenalog, to help prevent the reoccurance of CME. Now, my eye is very red, weepy and appears to have a liquid film in front of the pupil. My vision does not seem to be effected. Is this a normal side effect? I'm scheduled to have the cataract in the right eye removed in 3 weeks. I have never had CME in this eye. I'm considering refusing the kenalog injection in it.
He said his program does not provide him with Kenalog and so he gave me a shot of Decadron 4 mg every three months. It has been a week since my shot and my allergies are starting to return. What is the difference between the two, and which one is better? Should I seek another doctor or can I go to a clinic and get my shots there since I have my past medical records with me?

I went to a PCP near my office who immediately injected the ulcer with what turned out to be kenalog. The next day, i had red painless bumps and my scrotum was bright red. I went to a derm who said i had a bad yeast infection and gave diflucan. My whole groin became crusty and red and then died down. However, the bumps and ulcer remained for about two months. Derm biopsied a bump and came back as "Psoriaform Dermatitis". At 11.
This last year I needed help for degenerative disc disease and was given caudal blocks (4) and facet injections (8) and all the psoriasis went away. I know that Kenalog was used in the injections. How often can one have an injection of Kenalog? The caudal blocks and the facet injections cost over $35,000.00 when all the different factors were added in.......operating room, anesthesiologist, doctor, medications, etc.
Hi, welcome to the forum, it is clear that you are allergic to horse, your body has got sensitized to them and hence subsequent reactions to exposure are spontaneous and can be more severe. Kenalog is a steroid and long term use can cause reduced bone density and muscle pain and atrophy.
Best way of management would be avoid further exposure.
Both Pred Forte and Kenalog are steroids. Chronic use of steroids may cause cataracts or raise the intraocular pressure and result in glaucoma damage to the optic nerve. If you are on topical steroid drops, or are being treated with Kenalog injections, you need to be under the care of an ophthalmologist who will monitor your eye pressure, optic nerve, and lens. I am not sure why the chalazia are recurring.

Indentation is a common side effect of Kenalog. For the same collagen filling and plastic reconstruction done by a good plastic surgeon are the best.

I got a Kenalog injection 8 months ago for allergies in my hip and it has atrophied so much that it causes pain to sit, and sometime just standing. At times pain goes down my leg to the calf. My doctor said it was the worst he has seen and is referring me to a plastic surgeon How long does this condition continue to progress? Is it self limiting? Does that mean I can never take a steroid in the future? I can't tell if the bones hurt or it's just the tissue.
My dentist gives me my shot and see another patient, by the time he got back to me I was fully numb. and the numbness last for 8 - 12 hours. I am highly allergic to lidocaine it puts me into anaphylactic shock, I have an epipen but sa that I don't have to use that I just make sure everyone is doing their job and I always wear my medic alert bracelet.
Back in December (late December) I got sick and got a Kenalog shot. My nurse practicioner did tell me this could cause it. I got another Kenalog shot last Monday and started spotting today!!! I was good for a month! I have had Kenalog shots quite often when I get upper respiratory infections due to my low immune system. Could this be the problem??

At 11.5 weeks, i had my derm do another Herpeselect IGG as I was freaked out and came back negative for HSV1 (.5) and HSV2 (<.02). The bumps eventually went away and the area was completely thin, sensitive and extremely painful to touch. Had a deep indentation in the penis skin (atrophy?).
I went to doctor yesterday (on 6th day) for ezcema and he gave me a KENALOG - 60 mg shot in my butt (because i have ezcema all over my body) and also gave me a cream called fluocinonide 0.05% which is similar to what i was applying earlier for several months. He did a biopsy (to rule out psolaris)
1) What is my risk for HIV.
2) Do i need testing and if so when, because i just had a kenalog shot would this delay my antibody formation. Do i need a PCR testing?
