1635362 tn?1302041279 I have hypothyroidism as well and am also on levothyroxine. I took it for a very long time and we tried for seven years to get pregnant on our own, without it working. Finally, we gave IVF a try and are now five weeks pregnant! Good luck!
1231278 tn?1282259105 I was at TSH 3.33 when I was diagnosed hypo. Dr put me on .50 mcg of levothyroxine. Then 90 days go by and retested with results TSH 3.59 and Free T4 of .09 so he raised me to .75mcg of levo.... I just had bloodwork done today and will get the results in a few days. From everything I have read... please tell me that i'm wrong... but it seems that my thyroid is getting even worse as TSH raises in number even though I am on a heavier dose? Does this seem abnormal to anyone else?
Avatar n tn Two months ago found out I was pregnant and was taken off the cytomel and my levothyroxine was raised to 150. I miscarried a week later. My thyroid levels got so messed up because of the all the hormonal changes. I now am getting closer normal levels but I feel horrible. Because we are trying for a baby I cannot be put back on the cytomel until I am pregnant again and give birth. Since I have been off the cytomel though I instantly gained almost 10 lbs already.

1393562 tn?1280339068 I have been diagnosed with hypothyroidism and have been on 100mcg of levothyroxine daily. I am 22 weeks pregnant and wonder how and if this disease affects my baby?
1816154 tn?1463430018 I noticed that my husband semen is lower than ever since he started his thyroid medicine. He's getting less than 1/2a teaspoon. .. he's taking Levothyroxine sodium 25mcg and verapamil 245 mg for blood pressure. Can this cause a problem for him and I TTC? We have been trying for 5-6 months now. ...I know that it takes a few months before getting pregnant up to 1 year . We already have 2 girls together but it was very easy for us to get pregnant until now....
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with hypothyroid less then a week ago and started taking Levothyroxine 50mcg and 2 hrs after I take the meds my heart races and feels like its literally going to pound its way out of my chest. I phoned my Dr with my concerns and she told me that it takes time for your body to adjust and to keep taking it until I'm re-tested in 6 weeks. My chest now hurts and I am afraid to take the meds. Anyone else have this issue?
Avatar f tn Hello, I was diagnosed with thyroiditis and after going from hyperthyroidism to hypothyroidism I was put on 75mg of levothyroxine than my doctor said to only take half a dosage and now I've been off the medication for 6 days I was supposed to be done with treatment but ever since I stopped the medication I've been feeling dizzy again and exhausted my hair is falling out again my hands are shaking I have cold feet and nausea I told my doctor but he says I'm fine I was wondering could
Avatar f tn Thanks for the reply. I ws beginning to feel relly lousy, was having trouble getting my prescription refilled ( some office people don't take these things very seriously.) and couldn't get much of an answer from the pharmacist. I got some bad news about the nodules they found and I have to have a biopsy. I have no idea what to expect and am really apprehensive.
Avatar n tn without know you history I will say that you need to be on the levo for the rest of your life Your dose needs tweaking from time to time You realy should be have blood testsdat least every 3 months.I would suspect your illness is not from the levo but your dose needs to be tweaked and get you on the right dosage. In my case I have lost 22 pounds and I was on too high a dosage so I had blood labs and sure enough I needed to lower my dose of the levo.
Avatar f tn I posted on 6/17/2015 regarding my concerns over having had one episode of AFib and being concerned with the levothyroxine causing another episode. The only TSH info I had at that time was that my level was 5.6. This was taken on 5/7/2015. I just received my lab results in the mail for blood work done on 6/11/2015. She ordered at Free T3 and T4 screening on this one. In my last post you requested the results. There was no ferritin tested and my vitamin D is ok.
Avatar m tn My dog has had hypothyroidism for several years and has been on 0.2 mg of Levothyroxine twice daily ever since. Recently, when they did a check on his T4 they found that it was low and they increased it immediately to 0.4 mg. A week or two later he began to significantly pant and wheeze. Then he decided to give him 150 mg of Theophylline twice daily. Could the thyroid dose change have caused these symptoms or is it a coincidence?
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed in 2013, my current dose of levothyroxine is 50mcg and the reason it is this low a dose is because of the acacia in the Teva levothyroxine I have been prescribed. I am also planning to be pregnant. Any advice about how to proceed next would be welcome, thank you. JUNE-2018 (Lab comments - if planning pregnancy or already pregnant please discuss) TSH 2.65 (0.2 - 4.2) FREE T4 15.1 (12 - 22) FREE T3 3.2 (3.1 - 6.
Avatar f tn A few months ago, I tested 15 tsh and my dr started me on 50 mcg levothyroxine. After 8 weeks I retested and my tsh was 7, normal range being below 4. My dr increased my dosage again to 75mcg. Soon after this increase I started noticing hives. Hives cover my torso, thighs, buttocks, and they are large welts, extremely itchy. I thought it was the levothyroxine so I switched to synthroid. This change had no effect. I saw an allergist and did a scratch test with everything coming back negative.
Avatar n tn I started thyroxine/levothyroxine last August. Back then I was working and just thought I kept getting low level virus infections. At the end of October my health / energy levels and mental clarity all fell of a cliff and I have hardly worked since. (Thankfully my employer has been really good about allowing me time off to get well )My dose has been increased every 6-8wks on re=testing and I am now back at work on a phased return but not feeling 100% well yet.
Avatar m tn The doctor put me on Levothyroxine, and now after 3 and a half months, I have indigestion approximately 3 times a week, bloated stomach, and balance problems. Why should I take this medication when before I started taking it, I had no symtoms? Can I stop taking this medication? I'm thinking that perhaps I was born with this thyroid problem, and it was not a problem until I started taking the medication.
Avatar f tn My recent bloods have showed my TSH at 6.25 and doctor has put me on 50 mocrograms of Levothyroxine, will this help.?? Desperate!!
Avatar f tn Hi, I'm currently 5 weeks pregnant and was diagnosed with mild hypothyroidism on August 12th (TSH 4.53). Started taking levothyroxine 25mcg on August 20th and found out that I conceived a week after I started taking medication. However the most recent blood work done on September 1st showed a rise in TSH. My current readings are: TSH 7.83 normal range 0.34 - 5.60 U/ml FreeT3 3.0 normal range 2.0 - 4.
Avatar f tn I was recently prescribed 0.025 levothyroxine and my hypothyroid symptoms seem to be getting worse. Is that normal when starting on a low dose? The only thing I am worried about is my heart. It feels weird, kinda like a tightness and my pulse is lower then normal. I am also getting pain in my upper back. I had these issues before starting the medication but seems to be getting worse and starting to be paranoid. Should i stop taking it? My appointment isn't for another three weeks.
6511333 tn?1381974810 ll and my periods were always whacked too. I also had a lot of trouble getting pregnant with my second child.
