Tony is correct, if you are in fact breastfeeding you should discuss with your OB/GYN a progestin only pill ( a good example would be NORA-BE TABLET) . If not here are some low dose pills to consider.

How significant is this effect? And finally, how significant are nutrient depletions wile using the pill? I saw research done on it decades ago, but don't see much research on the topic concerning lower dose pills.

It's slightly less effective so you have to make sure that you don't miss any doses, as it will increase your chances of another pregnancy. They also have a progestin implant that is quite effective as well, and then you don't have to worry about if you miss a pill.
When Vagifem or Estrace is prescribed for a post menopausal woman with a uterus, should a progestin always be prescribed as well? Visanne is a progestin medication. It's my understanding that these medications may help reduce or prevent cysts but I don't think it works for all women or all cases. So my wife is a virgin and we had non penetrative sex and some sperm was left on her vagina and we got worried that she could get pregnant then she took emergency contraceptive (levonorgestrel) 48 hours after. Then after 2 days we did non penetrative sex again and we got worried about pregnancy and she took emergency contraception again. This is emergency contraceptive twice in a week.
Im planning on using progestin only birth control. If you plan to breastfeed you should avoid any birth control that has estrogen because it dries up milk production. I personally plan to take the progestin only pill my dr did say there are some other option too. You should talk to your dr to see what they offer/recommend.

But you are correct that a progestin or progesterone needs to be taken with estrogen to protect the uterine lining from proliferation and risk of hyperplasia or cancer.

If I am on Menopause, should I removed the IUD? I know the IUD is a hormonal IUD, so it does provide me some amount of progestin. I am not sure if this effect the FSH test. Also is there any benefit to keep the IUD in me as it does provide the progestin hormone which I am lacking during the menopausal period.

While I understand that there is always a risk of DVT, depression or stroke when taking contraceptive pills, I was thinking, there are other brand of pills which contains more or less the same hormones ethinylestradiol and levonorgestrel. So should I be concerned? I have been on other brand of pills in the past which contained ethinylestradiol and norethisterone and I was fine with it.
