So to start off this novel, I had brief mutual unprotected oral with another male 38 days ago. On day 8 after intercourse with my significant other I noticed irritation around my urethra and directly under the head of my penis where the foreskin joins. This of course amped up my nerves and so I watched like a hawk for discharge over the next 4 days until I could get in to see the doctor. They took a urine sample and gave me rocephin azithromyicin and metronazole.
Is 500 mg of Levofloxacin every 48 hours suppose to make a 70 year old diabetic dialysis patient drowsy, fatigued, emotionally disturbed, and delirious?
Is it okay to stop the continuing dosage after seeing the affects of the first dose?
I and my husband received IV continous infusion Clindamycin treatment times 7 days and the followup testing showed we were both positive with clamydia. I still have pain in my right kidney that I usually have with chronic UTI. I am taking Cipro now for E. facelis but infection will not go away. It is too the point I don't want to have intercourse with my husband. Also did two months of oral macrobid and clarithomycin both I and my husband. Don't know what to do please advise.
I went back to the doctor and he gave me levofloxacin for tonsillitis but my throat is still sore on the 8th day on levofloxacin. I now understand that levofloxacin can cure E. I thought it had to cure C or G, which would in turn cure my E. But it seems, though I'd like someone to confirm it if you have any knowledge, that levofloxacin directly cures E.

Epididymitis was cured by levofloxacin in 2 days but why and what caused my E in the first place?

Maybe my scrotum skin was weak during sex and it got infected during the sex process, but not by any STD.

Thank you for your reply, I already saw a doctor a couple of days after the exposure and he said the pimple is caused by excessive fat and it doesn’t have any effect and is removable by a procedure but I’d rather not do that I guess he also got me on a course of levofloxacin for 7 days and a one oral dose of azithromycin as a precaution since I had a burning feeling not during urination which I presumed is from the pimple..
However, some cases of NGU may appear in men in monogamous relationships. For example, some normal oral bacteria and some cold viruses can cause NGU, especially if oral sex is among your practices with your partner.
The apparent improvement of your symptoms might be due to an infection that is being effectively treated, but even that doesn't necessarily mean you had gonorrhea, chlamydia, or NGU.
However, if you think you may have difficulty remembering to take a pill at the same time every day for 7 days, you should ask for a single dose treatment. The trade off is that the single dose regimen may be slightly more expensive.
The two recommended treatment regimens are considered to be equally effective. The alternative regimens may be necessary in some individuals but two are more expensive (Oflaxacin/Levofloxacin), and the third (Erythromycin) may be less effective.

Around 4 months I had unprotected oral sex with a female. I'm a male and it was giving and receiving oral. I was test by PCR-DNA and Elisa around 7 weeks, then I did another Elisa at 12 1/2 weeks (88 days). I've been negative on all tests. My question is how accurate is the PCR-DNA test with an Elisa at 7 weeks?
It all started 5 months ago after receiving oral sex, from right next day I started having frquent urination and after one week of antibiotic (cipro and azithromycin) treatment all were normal. After three weeks I started having clear discharge and visited doctor few times and first doctor prescribed doxiciline for 15 days, second doctor prescribed Levofloxacin but nothing worked. If you want to substitute Cipro for one of these other drugs Cipro is in the same drug class as Levofloxacin. Levofloxacin will have the similar side effect though. Strep group B is the problem allthough it depends on if the prostate sample was collected sterilily such as a biopsy. If so then the virudans strep could also be the problem and viridans strep are more resistant to antibiotics.
My main concern and cause of anxiety is could this have been caused by an STI? My only sexual encounter was 4 months previous in which I received unprotected oral sex. I had no symptoms until the epididymitis, or if I did there were so minor I did not notice. Is it likely that this epididymitis was caused by this oral encounter. I have read throat chlamydia is rare, and that transferring to a penis is even more unusual, but I still concerned this could be the cause.

Almost every std site and government info site says the m gen can be acquired though oral sex. However, if you read the scientific literature, it says that the have not been able to detect it in the throat of people. Most notably sex workers and men who have sex with men. I have also read on the expert forum on this website and in 2014 Dr Hunter Mansfiled has also said that oral transmission is not possible and has never been documented. Why would all the other websites say this.
