Avatar n tn We usually can respond to questions/concerns regarding diabetes. Levofloxacin is an antibiotic used to treat an bacterial infection, not diabetes. Call your doctor for medical advice about Levofloxacin side effects. Be sure to inform the doctor of all medications, supplements, vitamins and aspirins you are taking.
Avatar f tn It could be bacterial vaginosis caused by a bacteria most often called Garnerella vaginialis or could be Trichomonas. They can collect a vaginal swab and test for it. Yeast infections itch a lot but they don't generally smell bad. They have a bread like smell and usually are white.
Avatar m tn Doctor told me that I have got Bacterial Epididymitis. And he prescribed me levofloxacin, anti-inflammatory like Meloxicam and painkillers. After 10 days of treatment, testicle pain was less, no burning while urination and less frequent urination but I still had swollen penile hole and bit of discomfort, slight discharge and pain in my left testicle.

Avatar m tn The next day, I felt pain on the tip of my penis with a red inflammation only around the urine hole , I went to a doctor, he gave me antibiotic ( levofloxacin) + topical antibiotic cream....it was useless ... I tried also a combination of antifungul and antibacterial creams and no thing really helps. I have never had sex before ... I always care about my hygiene. Is it fungal or bacterial or virus or just inflammation ?
Avatar f tn I've had bv multiple times and I've had it with this pregnacy as well as my first you will be perfectly okay to wait until you get paid.. I would definitely wait to treat it until you have them confirm thats what it is.. only causes concern when left untreated for long periods of time:) for now I'd try to use unscented soaps and only wash with water... seems off since bv causes a smell but I was told and have found that soap can cause your ph levels to go wacky and that can cause bv.
20803805 tn?1514310660 i first went to a pharmacy and bought some antibiotics levofloxacin being one of them it didnt stop. then went to a doctor he did some stool tests and he said i had some bacterial infection gave me some other antibiotics and i was also given some salts to reintroduce lost ions which i finished with no change. i went to another doctor he suggested that i might be having girdiasis, i was given a high dose of antibiotics that fight the the protozoa. i still did not get well.
Avatar f tn I was given levofloxacin and muprocin for what was told a skin infection in my nostril and left ear. I had seen a hard white ridge of skin in my nose and started feeling like i had the flu two weeks ago. He rushed me, didn't tell me what kind it was and hasn't called me. I took my fourth of seven pills last night and still have flu like symptoms.
Avatar m tn Hello I have just been to a Urologist who diagnosed me with an inflamed prostrate due to a bacterial infection. I did not tell him the truth about how this might have occurred (see later) and he thinks it could have ben caused by any number of different reasons. With that in mind he prescribed me 10 days of Levofloxacin to clear any bacteria.
Avatar m tn would that course of antibiotics affect, somehow, the reliability of the test results for bacterial STDs? I mean, could it have "weakened" the bacteria to the point where it wouldn't show up in the tests but were still in my system? I'm worrying mainly about Syphilis, but I never noticed a chancre or anything (but I know those can go unnoticed). Should I trust the negative results? Should I test again? Right now it's been four months since the encounter.
Avatar m tn I read a lot that staph infection is much more common in people with hiv but they are also prevalent among HIV negative people. I am currently taking levofloxacin for treatment and had a shot of ceftriaxone. The culture test showed that the staph was sensitive to cipro so my doctor said levox will cover it and it is actually stronger than cipro, is he right? Plus, how did this staph infection cause this discharge?
Avatar m tn I was given many antibiotics and last time I was given broad spectrum antibiotics. Crixan 500mg, Levofloxacin 500mg. Since then pain in lymph nodes little bit decreased. My head feels still the same, almost like drunk. Problem is, that I moved to Thailand and health care works here on demand. I HAD TO ask for blood tests. I HAD TO ask for broad spectrum antibiotics. If I don't demand anything else, I will be given same antibiotics.
483814 tn?1214311480 18 years of age). Levofloxacin is contraindicated in persons with known hypersensitivity to levofloxacin or other quinolone antibacterials. Serious and occasionally fatal events, such as hypersensitivity and/or anaphylactic reactions and some of unknown etiology, have been reported in patients receiving therapy with quinolones, including levofloxacin.
190673 tn?1259203266 My urologist said I have non-bacterial chronic prostatitis. Good news is that I finally found out what is causing my secual dysfunctions, pain in testicles, pain during intercourse, during going to toilet etc...But he also said there is no cure for it. Just told me to do hot bath sits a few times a day. I did them before with no help plus I have no time for it. Anyone knows any treatment for this disease?
Avatar f tn I had a sinus infection in Nov of 2007, and I have had a headache ever since. It has been a constant thing that is beginning to drive me insane. I have recently had a CAT scan that came back normal in an emergency room. Sometimes it is so intense I have to go to bed and take vicodin (2) so the pain will subside. It is usually pounding when I need to take the vicodin. My head feels like there is a ball rolling around on the inside and when it hits the walls of my skull it hurts really bad.
Avatar m tn I was given again some antibiotics (Metronidazole, Levofloxacin, Cefuroxime). Since then, the pain is passable, but it is not gone. The last year, there have been only few days without pain. All other days, I had either some pins and needles in my urethra or in my urinary bladder. Do you have any idea, what this can be? Additional information: There had never been some visible modifications at my genitals; I have been tested for some other infections (HIV, chlamydia trachomatis, hepatitis B/C).
Avatar n tn Careful with Levofloxacin. Sometimes the side effects aren't worth the benefits. I took Levofloxacin to cure a bout of pneumonia. Sure enough, the infection cleared up, but my joints ached so bad I could not raise my arms to take a shower, put my clothes on, bend to tie my shoes, get in and out of a car quickly. Strength training and jogging was out of the question for a month.
Avatar f tn I've got a chronic disease called SIBO (Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth). Like my relatives, I was never overweight and I never abused drugs, alchohol, etc. Several of my relatives died young from various gastrointestinal diseases.
Avatar n tn Levofloxacin is a synthetic CHEMOTHERAPEUTIC antibiotic of the fluoroquinolone drug class[1][2] and is used to treat severe or life-threatening bacterial infections or bacterial infections that have failed to respond to other antibiotic classes.... The word "chemotherapy" without a modifier usually refers to cancer treatment, but its historical meaning is broader. In broader usage, chemotherapy is the treatment of an ailment by chemicals[8] especially by killing micro-organisms.
Avatar n tn The lack of response to levofloxacin, a broad spectrum antibiotic, is additional evidence that no STD or other bacterial infection explains your symptoms; chlamydia would have been cured if you had it. I suggest you continue to follow up with the urologist. You can be sure no STD or any other infection acquired from the escort.
Avatar f tn t even phone your doctor for advice (which would be kind of a surprise -- almost all doctors have night coverage and weekend coverage let alone someone during the business day to answer questions from patients) by all means see a pharmacist. I would tend to begin taking it correctly now that you know, but your doc might want to extend the dose to cover the full amount of days with the full dose.
Avatar m tn If Levofloxacin caused peripherial neuropathy will Cipro also if I take that as an alternate?
Avatar m tn No, levofloxacin (Levoquin®) would have no effect on ARS symptoms. All ARS symptoms are due directly to the body's immune response to HIV.
