Common Questions and Answers about Levemir weight gain loss

levemir

Avatar f tn He offered me a levemir sample he said it had less weight gain than lantus and was the same., plus the levemir company still samples, I have been on this stuff for three weeks, I don't feel sluggish after taking it, I feel great, and the pen is nice!
Avatar m tn m pretty sure she was taking tablets, so I suspect you would no chance of complete success with her approach towards not needing to take meds (but, you might or might not find with weight loss that not only would you gain assorted health benefits, but, would perhaps find that a less expensive diabetes 2 med would suffice). I'm certainly no expert on this topic, but that's a question to ask of your doctor (or possibly your pharmacist), next time you're chatting with one.
Avatar n tn Some people do think that Lantus insulin causes some patients to gain weight, while the new Levemir insulin apparently does not do this. I read some articles about this just yesterday and was surprised, for I take Lantus and have noticed no weight gain at all. So this could be a factor. However, a change in metabolism in middle age probably is the real culprit, along with possibly a slower metabolism because you are not eating. Exercise should help both problems. Start walking!
529799 tn?1226797209 It's been really hard for me to reach out like this after so long of hiding my little problem and taking advice from people who have no idea what complications type 1 diabetes (insulin dependent) has with weight loss. I've been through the fads, even tried the shakes which was the worst idea and didn't last long. Worked out religiously and condemned any 'junk' food to hell, well i still do.
Avatar f tn Well i would say your fine. I always lose weight at the first of my pregnancy. I am 37 weeks and have only gained 7 pounds so its all what ur doctor thinks. Mine is ok with my weight gain because im healthy and i do eat plenty lol. But in my opinion you are fine cause you should gain more at the end rather then the beginning. Just remember the baby and fluid is only so much and you are all the rest. So ask your doctor what would be a healthy weight gain and try to stick to that.
Avatar f tn Completely normal! I lost 5lbs in the beginning of my pregnancy then gained it back, today I went for a check up and I've lost 2 lbs since my last appointment. So my total weight gain this whole pregnancy thus far has been 10lbs, as long as the baby is developing and measuring right weight gain isn't a big priority.
Avatar f tn It's normal, I was the same until I reached the 20 week mark & I gained weight rapidly.
Avatar f tn I lost 5lb without getting sick and it took a few weeks to gain it back. They sometimes suggest drinking ensure to help gain weight.
Avatar m tn Firstly rule out conditions like hypothyroidism which can lead to excessive weight gain. A person wanting to lose weight should do so in a scientific way for long term benefits. A healthy diet and regular exercise or incorporating yoga into your daily regime can help to lose weight. Eat more of green leafy vegetables, fruits and protein and less of fats, butter and potato etc.

Avatar f tn i am not anerexic or bulemic i just cannot gain the weight in need to to be healthy again. i have tried all different diets from eating fast food to eating salads and a more healthier diet and nothing seems to help gain weight. it is difficult for me to work out because i ahve no muscle mass and get hurt to easily to be lifting weights or even running. i litteraly ate only taco bell for 6 months to try to gain the weight and i lost more weight.
Avatar f tn Believe it or not, I am more concerned about weight gain than any thing else. I have literally struggled with it all my life. I am 50 lbs over weight now an can afford to gain an ounce. I've read where cushins symdrome is a side effct, oddly enough, it was a concern earlier with my weight issues. I dread going on another goose chase with that! any advice and insights you folks can lend would be deeply appreciated.
Avatar f tn but after 5 th month she started gaining weight and in her 9 th month she was 26 pounds more than her normal weight and we checked to your doctor about this weight gain, he told it is normal. Actually, a pregnant women should gain at least 12 kg more than her actual weight. So eat well, eat healthy and be happy.
Avatar f tn s not unusual to gain a little weight when first starting to exercise. When you begin an exercise program, you begin building muscle, so even though you aren't losing pounds, you might be losing inches. You might want to take your measurements - waist, bust, hips, thighs, arms - you might actually be getting smaller. You might also want to think about getting your thyroid tested to make sure it's functioning properly since hypothyroidism is a major cause of weight gain.
Avatar f tn I was told that i am 11lbs under weight. I know sometimes you lose before you start to gain but i would assume i should have been gaining by now. Any other mommys been through this ?
Avatar f tn But the weight loss still disturbs me. Have any of you experienced a lot of weight loss instead of weight gain?
