Common Questions and Answers about Levemir on pbs

levemir

Avatar f tn I have trouble with levemir. I have been diabetic fro 12 years but found out his information about insulins. You need to know the onset and peak times. The article i read is Levemir onset is 3-4 hour after initial injection and then peaks at 6-8 hours after injection. I do not see a 24 hours effect when taking Levemir.
382218 tn?1341181487 This is a head's up to a couple of programs that may be of interest to you. First, Charlie Rose has been running a series on the brain, and over the weekend on PBS they've been running the episode that covers MS. It's airing again tomorrow, at least in my area where we get PBS from Spokane. Second, Jack Osbourne is scheduled to be on GMA tomorrow morning, I assume to speak about his recent diagnosis.
Avatar n tn The Levemir is NOT on a sliding scale. It is a given does once a day Or twice a day. 12 hours apart. is his 224 after eating or first thing in the morning before food or drink?
Avatar n tn m on novolog and levemir (levemir is just at bedtime).
Avatar n tn t help at all and it would still jam up on dosage knob so I now have the levemir lfex pen which is so similar to the novo log flex pen except the colors of both pens are different so you do not confuse the two insulins. I will finsih up on the lantus as not to waste it and then go on the levemir flex pen never having to worry about the problems I had with the Lantus Auto Pen which will be a thing of the past.
1353681 tn?1387083733 Hi, I have not used lantus, but I do use levemir. Both are medium acting basal insulins. Levemir works best injected twice a day. I inject just before going to bed (22 units), and when I wake up in the morning (8 units). As you can see, I don't use the same dose morning and evening, as I find I need more basal insulin at night when I am inactive, than during the day when I am active. You will need to adjust your dosage based on your target blood sugar levels.
Avatar n tn I have recently changed to new insulin. I am now taking Levemir in the morning and at night taking Apidra. Since I have changed to this insulin my blood sugar is going upby alot. I was at 176 this morning and within a few hours it was at 296. This has never happened before and I have not changed anything in my eating. Why is it going up so much and how can I make this stop?
189897 tn?1441126518 Not sure if the forum will allow this to stay. But I just saw a great special on PBS on adult ADD. Its about time!! Anyway, you might check out your PBS schedule for a program called "ADD and loving it". Also a website created, called "totallyadd.com". Its worth the time and all of those dang commercials. I think its the best info I have seen on the subject in a video format. Hope this helps someone.

Avatar f tn If you continue to be ill with symptoms that feel like the flu or vomiting, you need to go to the ER, because you could be suffering from DKA which happens from prolonged numbers that high and it can be very dangerous. Drinking water helps. Just keep working at getting it down and it should start to improve soon as you are back on the Levemir.

Avatar n tn I have type 2 diabetes (2 yrs). My A1C is 7.6 I am presently using Levemir Flex Pen (22) before bed. I take synthroid for hypothyrodism (10 yrs) and recently started taking crestor for high cholesterol (which is now within normal range) I 58, female and over-weight. Question: I want to start taking 200 mcg of chromium picolinate to help with my diabetes. Is this safe to take with the medications I am currently taking? Also, when is the best time to take it.

973741 tn?1342342773 I first heard of it about a week ago and now everyone is telling me it is awesome. PBS English drama. Much more than tea and crumpets--- so am going to try to find season one to watch. Just curious if anyone has checked it out.
973741 tn?1342342773 I was bored last weekend and hit on a show on PBS called Call the Midwife. Very female oriented in terms of lots of 'birth stuff' but really well done and interesting. Loved it and HIGHY recommend it. Touching in many ways. Set in the 50's in England. Watch it!!
