During that treatment I was concurrently taking Levaquin for an unrelated sickness. Finished the Levaquin and the yeast seemed to go away. Fast forward to last Friday and the yeast came back! I just so happen to have gone to my dr for my yearly exam and she did a culture which came back positive for yeast. In that time frame I was having sex with my boyfriend and it started to feel really raw and painful.
I started with sore tongue and itchy anus within a week. All STD tests have been negative, and treated for yeast with no relief. Presently on Doxocycline and Levaquin, this has been ongoing for 4 months. My Dr.s are stumped, any help?
i am now bieng treated with diflucan for 7 days for a yeast infection. should i be worried. do u think my ngu was wiped out. i was bieng treated for resistant ngu.
I was also recently just taken off of a series of antio-biotics, I was on a z-pak for 5 days, then amoxicilin, then Levaquin and Prethesdone, and I had an allergic reaction to Levaquin and was given more prethesdone to counteract the allergic reaction. Could these medicines be messing with my cycle, even though I'm on BC?
After about six visits I realized I needed the next level of expert, went to large teaching hospital 45 miles away, saw Ear specialist (not ENT, next level). He gave me Levaquin (horrible drug, nasty!) Seven days later, cleared up, stopped antibiotic, then got what was most likely the flu but I had the flu shot a month before so it blew through me, short but bad. Ear problem came back. Went back on Levaquin a month atter first course and now done with it.
He told me I had prostatist and put me on levaquin 500mg. for a month and two weeks. I still been having pain in groin now and the last time I went to the urouligist he said me and wife had inflammation. Just take ibprofen 500 mg for inflammation. He said, that vaginities is just inflammation also.
I saw wife vagina had white/grayish stuff on it. It's not milky but kinda like a paste.
Hi. I have been experiencing some really disturbing set of symptoms. I was a healthy and happy 22 year old and now feel almost crippled. I have peripheral neurpathy, horrible anxiety, deppression, nausea, weight loss. I took Levaquin for a UTI infection in November 2009 and didn't have symptoms then. I also had a susequent yeast infection. Do anybody have any idea what could be causing thIs? Thank you and God Bless.
Hello. My story is very different. I had unprotected sex for about 10 sec in Oct of 2008. I only inserted the (head of my penis only) into the vagina and the rest of intercourse was done with condom. (did not really have intercourse) Could not get an erection; therefore, condom was never inserted in vagina, only 10 sec. of penis head only. I have no open sores on the head of my penis.
About three days later, I felt pain in groin. Went to hospital and Dr. said I had ureathitis.
i am taking levaquin, is that a good coverage for my clinical presentation and what is the side effect to expect from this drug.
Handsfield I understand that Chlamydia is not transmitted orally so my fears were primarily GC since the Levaquin is a fluoroquinolone. After the Avelox, Flagy and 4 days of the Levaquin I resumed sex with my partner. She had the Bladder infection not long after that and was treated with Nitofuran, Flagyl, 750 mg per day x 6 days and Levaquin, 500 mg per day for 6 days...at the same time I was still on the Levaquin...
I was just diagnosed with yeast infection, candida I think, in my blood; I had 9 out of 10 symptoms for two years previous and went to ER only after my tunge had lots of white spots and it got so swollen that I could hardly talk. A drug called Diflucan was prescribed for three days, but still have chills, feverish feelings, fatigue, etc..
I am now on Levaquin 500 mg for 10 days. He sent the urine sample off to the lab for a Cytoplasm test ($220 later), it too was negative. Also has an Ultra sound of my abdomen nothing at all found. The doctors recommendation is a cystoscopy if the antibiotics don't clear whatever this is up. On day 8 now of the levaquin and still having the same symptoms above.
What could this be? Anymore information or knowledge, would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
I have an ear infection needing antibiotics (Levaquin. 500mg). The pharmacist said that these two meds are contraindicated. My cardiologist said to go off of Flecainide for 2 weeks while taking the Levaquin.
The bad news is that I am scared to go off on a med that I have been taking for a long time. The good news is that I will find out if the meds are causing my daily symptoms of nausea, extreme fatigue, sleepiness and I don't need anti arrhythmic agents for A-Fib.
I need help please. My doctors had me on Levaquin for 4 years straight. I believe it's destroyed most of my immune system. Since being off Levaquin for the past few months, I have had chronic bronchitis and pneumonia since. My muscles and body is in agony. I now have to use oxygen all the time, day and night. The recovery times from surgeries are greatly extended now. I'm having another back surgery in a few weeks.
I am pretty sure I just have a UTI but if for whatever I have an STD will the Levaquin that I am taking for my UTI cure chlamydia or gonorhea? I am taking 500mg for 6 days. Please help me.

Hi everyone...has anyone ever been on Levaquin (it's in the same class of antibiotics as Cipro)? I was on it for 5 days of my 10 when I started getting some wrist pain and they took me off it. I didn't even know it causes tendon damage.
Just wondering if anyone else had those side effects???
I think my mom was on it (IV) but didn't have any side effects. All I can say is if they want to put you on it, ask for something else unless there is no choice! Thanks!

t think I should take antibiotics before I see a dr because if I have a yeast infection, the levaquin or macrobid will make it worse. I wonder if I never had a UTI to begin with and it was always just a yeast infection. The discharge is white but like clearish white not opaque and not thick and not a bad smell. Also antibiotics require eating, which I am not capable of that right now. I have reglan for the nausea. I asked for zofran but was told that it's really for cancer paitients.
I'm allergic to sulfa, too, so I am on Rifampin. It didn't seem to help as much as the Levaquin the first time around, but this time I'm on a higher dose. I assume I'll be on it a long time.
For me, Omnicef was almost useless. Within a month, my Lyme symptoms were getting worse. It's odd because Rocephin is helping a lot, and they're in the same drug family. Go figure. Omnicef is really helpful for some people, so don't be discouraged by my experience.
About 10 years ago I had an almost identical situation and the doctor said I had prostititis and placed me on a 30 day course of Levaquin. This helped some and if I had symptoms they we very mild. This time I went to a urologist and my urine culture came back negative. He examined my prostate but did not seem to think I have prostititis. He did however place me on a 30 day course of Levaquin which I am about 1/2 way through.
They could be herxing signs if they started along with your start of abx. My LLMD switched me from doxy to levaquin , I take a lot of supplements and herbs and I am looking forward to feeling better. Good luck.
Finally I was put on Levaquin. It cleared it up for about six days. Then a few days later the pain came back. The urge to pee, frequency and a burning sensation that lasts all day, but flares up more at night. I feel like I have no control of my bladder lately. Once I get done urinating I have the urge to pee again. It doesnt burn while I go, but once Im done I get a burning sensation. My lower pelvis hurts as well especially where my ovaries are. At night the burning sensation keeps me up.
Levaquin made me very ill. I have lupus & was given Levaquin for a sinus infection. Big no no. Levaquin can & will give you autoimmune disease symptoms and I already had one. Trust me it is not worth it. After 6 pills my calf muscles began to cramp. Dr. says ibuprofen 600mg a day.. Well its been all downhill from there. I developed full body tendinitis,(couldn't walk) my joints & muscles swelled so bad my nerves were compressed.
