Levaquin numbness

Common Questions and Answers about Levaquin numbness

levaquin

Avatar m tn Levaquin made me very ill. I have lupus & was given Levaquin for a sinus infection. Big no no. Levaquin can & will give you autoimmune disease symptoms and I already had one. Trust me it is not worth it. After 6 pills my calf muscles began to cramp. Dr. says ibuprofen 600mg a day.. Well its been all downhill from there. I developed full body tendinitis,(couldn't walk) my joints & muscles swelled so bad my nerves were compressed.
Avatar n tn Hi Doctor, Is it weird to have prolonged pain that shoots up to the bottom of the ribcage and down to the knee, followed by superficial numbness spread around the body for at least an hour (and even longer in the genital region) after ejaculation?
Avatar f tn Yes I get numbness in both my hands and feet. It comes and goes but is much less the longer I'm in treatment. It usually lasts a week or two. Hang in there it will get better!
Avatar m tn He has had 4 pneumonias in 8 weeks since everytime he has first put on Levaquin. We just got home, he got his first oral treatment of Levaquin, 500 on Friday, This time as any other, first 24 hours he is mostly unresponsive. Then regains. I went to get the prescription and got a 5 page warning letter. My husband at 5'10 "is barely 130 lbs. First time coming to the hospital his potassium level was 3.3. Last admission only 3.1 that was raised to 3,7 in the hospital by intravenius.
4451049 tn?1387153437 Both levaquin and Cipro gave me 'tendonitis' ALL over the body. Not just the Achilles tendon! Not a rupture, which is what a lot of the articles are about---- 'just' pain. For years. Still bad. :( Not what everyone gets---- so until you try them you won't know. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.
Avatar n tn Several days later, I started Levaquin to combat the sinus infection that seemed to be hanging on. I had taken it last year without problems. A few days into levaquin, my left foot began to burn. Then a day or so later, both feet felt like they were burning and so did my left arm. An enhanced MRI of my brain, an MRA and a dry MRI or my cspine failed to reveal any abnormalities. An exam with a neurologist was essentially normal.
Avatar f tn I need help please. My doctors had me on Levaquin for 4 years straight. I believe it's destroyed most of my immune system. Since being off Levaquin for the past few months, I have had chronic bronchitis and pneumonia since. My muscles and body is in agony. I now have to use oxygen all the time, day and night. The recovery times from surgeries are greatly extended now. I'm having another back surgery in a few weeks.
Avatar f tn I am pretty sure I just have a UTI but if for whatever I have an STD will the Levaquin that I am taking for my UTI cure chlamydia or gonorhea? I am taking 500mg for 6 days. Please help me. This discussion is related to Levaquin for Chlamydia/Gonorrhea.
Avatar m tn Hi everyone...has anyone ever been on Levaquin (it's in the same class of antibiotics as Cipro)? I was on it for 5 days of my 10 when I started getting some wrist pain and they took me off it. I didn't even know it causes tendon damage. Just wondering if anyone else had those side effects??? I think my mom was on it (IV) but didn't have any side effects. All I can say is if they want to put you on it, ask for something else unless there is no choice! Thanks!

I was on it for 5 days of my 10 when I started getting some wrist pain and they took me off it. I am now feeling pain here and there, but no idea if it's related. Avatar f tn Hi! I hope someone can help me. I have had a numb scalp (hair loss also, may not be related, but..figure that if I am not possibly getting blood to my scalp, then hair loss makes sense), tinnitus, numb ears, numb face, lack of ability to taste most foods, photophobia is also an issue. I had cervical disc fusion in 10/2008, and wonder if there is a compressed nerve (Neurosurgeon refuses to follow up)..I had bone spurs also and stenosis.
Avatar m tn I am getting painful ejaculation too in the veins or cords and terrible shooting pains in the pelvis with fungal infection. you could try methenamine/cystex. also cipro and levaquin may help and diflucan.
1373852 tn?1307843048 My question is could all those meds cause something to be damaged in my foot like the ligaments and tendons?I have novacaine like numbness and it feels like I have a swollen nerve at my ankle mostly after walking alot.I have left side muscle twitches too.I have been to the neurologist and he says nothing is wrong by way of a bunch of tests. How could they tell if I have nerve entrapment from being immobile for so long, almost 3 months.
Avatar n tn My husband was diagnosed with Bacterial Pneumonia and was prescribed Levaquin. He has been off the medication for about a week and a half and he is still experiencing phobic attacks in the morning. He wakes up in a panic and believes that he cannot breath. While he was taking the drug he experienced major confusion, anxiety, depression and dizziness. It was awful! He even experienced a very bad episode when he became abusive...and delusional.
Avatar n tn I came home that day washed very well and started drinking a lot of fluids. I ended up starting to take antibiotics as well. I had a prescription for Levaquin 500 mg pills. I have 20 days worth. Will that kill anything that I could have contracted?
Avatar n tn I've been on 500mg. of Levaquin for 4 days and I'm having difficulty breathing. Not all the time at times it's just hard to catch my breath without doing anything too physical. Has anyone else had this side effect?
Avatar m tn Was Levaquin knowing as a cause of Achilles tendon rupture before September/2006?
Avatar f tn My doctor prescribed prednisone, Symbicort, and also wants to give me Levaquin. I am over 55 years old, and I also have pre-diabetes (6.0 A1C - and am on metformin), and high blood pressure being successfully treated via Benicar. Two nurse friends of mine are literally screaming at me to not take the Levaquin due to achilles muscle rupture tendencies (one is suffering personally from it at this time and has been for more than one year now).
Avatar m tn Again the symptoms receded but again they returned. This time my doctor prescribed Levaquin (7 days x 500 mg) and 1 shot of Ceftriaxone. I was re-tested for Chlamydia and don't have the results yet. I read scary reports of serious side effects of Levaquin. It's potent but has risks which is why it's given only as a second line of defense. I'm nervous about taking it and I'm wondering if there are effective alternatives to this.
Avatar f tn Hello about 3 months ago I was prescribed Levaquin for an upper respirtory infection. Well I did experience the normal side effects listed online but then started getted ringing in my ears. I only had a few days left of the medication and didn't realize the ringing wouldn't go away since the doctor told me it was due to an ear infection. I have been off balance and have had visual problems and anxiety of not feeling right sometimes through the day.
Avatar m tn He then put me on levaquin which I took and had adverse reactions to but he insisted I stay on it however I only took it for 3 days. Next...when I flex my muscles then shake so when I flex and move my arm up and down for example or if I lean forward and move my neck up and down they have the same shaking movement and stiffness. I also began having muscle fisculations all over my body. Both legs, arms, face, neck(a lot), and even abdomen.
Avatar f tn My prior medical history is gastroparesis (of unknown etiology) and was just recently treated for a sinus infection with Levaquin 750 mg for 5 days. I was also very nauseous and dizzy today for several hours. Had a vague pain behind my eyes. Any thoughts?
Avatar n tn I do not know whom to believe. I took 7 days of Levaquin and did feel better. Now my liver enzymes are slightly elevated, and I'm not sure if it is the Levaquin, or the bacteria causing the elevation, and is areomonas a pathogen or not?
168348 tn?1379357075 All of the side affects are due to the Levaquin. I would have to have a gun pointed to my head before I took levaquin, and even then I might still refuse. Levaquin is a very "punishing" medication. Levaquin has it's mplace in the physicians armamentarium. For example, if I had bubonic plaque, I might consider levaquin. But they have an EXCELLENT drug marketing program. The symptoms will eventually disappear. Don't change your synthroid dose.
