Avatar m tn my rheumatoligist thinks Reactive Arthritis. This is supported by the fact that I had some improvement on NSAIDs and that the tendon pains are mainly enthesopathies. However, I am 6 weeks into a 2 month trial of Humira, with no improvement. I am negative for HLA-B27, all my rheumatolgical markers were normal on blood work, and a bone scan was normal. Also, a Physiatrist I saw thinks that the tendonopathies are too diffuse to be reactive arthritis, but he has no other ideas.
Avatar n tn I am going to have a consultation about having plastic surgery. I take ibrufoen a lot and I'm fine. I have been on several NSAID prescriptions and if I just have one dose i'm totally fine. If i take it on a regular basis (every 6 hours 2 or 3 times in a row) I get a rash on my arms and neck and really bad diarrhea. My throat doesn't close up or anything like that. When i'm asked if I'm allergic to anything, do say I am allergic to NSAIDS?
Avatar f tn my doctor keeps prescribing me NSAIDS even after I told him they really irriatate my stomach He'll just prescribe me another one. The medicine he keeps prescribing me first doesn't work and secondly make me have to go to the bathroom like 6 times a day when i do take them. I really don't know what to to. I'm in pain and my doctor keeps prescribing me things that put me in more pain.
Avatar f tn I use Tramadol or ULTRAM It seems to work for me PERFECTLY --- it's like an advil for me with a little stronger "OOMPH"... I guess would be a good description. It turned my life around and I can function now.
975514 tn?1324997938 I am curious to know for those of you who have only been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia (no other coexisting diseases such as Lupus or Lyme disease), do you get pain relief from any NSAID medications like ibuprofen, Aleve, or any other prescription NSAIDs like Mobic or Voltaren?
Avatar n tn But nobody else who ate it got sick, Then I wondered if it was a new med Levaquin I started 7 days ago.. finished them up yesterday.. I feel for you. I plan to go see the doctor if not better by tomorrow.. Flu?? God who knows..
Avatar f tn I need help please. My doctors had me on Levaquin for 4 years straight. I believe it's destroyed most of my immune system. Since being off Levaquin for the past few months, I have had chronic bronchitis and pneumonia since. My muscles and body is in agony. I now have to use oxygen all the time, day and night. The recovery times from surgeries are greatly extended now. I'm having another back surgery in a few weeks.
Avatar f tn I am pretty sure I just have a UTI but if for whatever I have an STD will the Levaquin that I am taking for my UTI cure chlamydia or gonorhea? I am taking 500mg for 6 days. Please help me. This discussion is related to Levaquin for Chlamydia/Gonorrhea.
Avatar m tn Hi everyone...has anyone ever been on Levaquin (it's in the same class of antibiotics as Cipro)? I was on it for 5 days of my 10 when I started getting some wrist pain and they took me off it. I didn't even know it causes tendon damage. Just wondering if anyone else had those side effects??? I think my mom was on it (IV) but didn't have any side effects. All I can say is if they want to put you on it, ask for something else unless there is no choice! Thanks!
Avatar m tn Hi everyone...has anyone ever been on Levaquin (it's in the same class of antibiotics as Cipro)? I was on it for 5 days of my 10 when I started getting some wrist pain and they took me off it. I am now feeling pain here and there, but no idea if it's related. I didn't even know it causes tendon damage! Just wondering if anyone else had those side effects??? If so, did they ever go away?
Avatar f tn Going to pcp this morning. Just finished levaquin for 3 weeks, didn't seem to touch my sinus infection. Feeling pain in my back like i did last year when i had pneumonia. So tired. Face/eyes swollen, ent said try claritin, so took that this morning and f/u with ent next week. Need refills of lortab and compazine from pcp, feel like a druggie.
Avatar m tn I am suffering from debilitating tendon pain in many joints. I am inclined to accredit this as a side effect of Levaquin, but none of the doctors I've seen have agreed with this, though they also have not offered any other explanation. Please find my story below: I am a 25 year old male. I have been an avid weight lifter for about 5 years, and a regular rock climber for about 1 year.
Avatar m tn Levaquin made me very ill. I have lupus & was given Levaquin for a sinus infection. Big no no. Levaquin can & will give you autoimmune disease symptoms and I already had one. Trust me it is not worth it. After 6 pills my calf muscles began to cramp. Dr. says ibuprofen 600mg a day.. Well its been all downhill from there. I developed full body tendinitis,(couldn't walk) my joints & muscles swelled so bad my nerves were compressed.
Avatar n tn No change in bowel or bladder except he recently has been on levaquin for second episode of prostatitis (first episode 20 years ago). Any ideas about what is going on? thanks so much.
Avatar n tn My husband was diagnosed with Bacterial Pneumonia and was prescribed Levaquin. He has been off the medication for about a week and a half and he is still experiencing phobic attacks in the morning. He wakes up in a panic and believes that he cannot breath. While he was taking the drug he experienced major confusion, anxiety, depression and dizziness. It was awful! He even experienced a very bad episode when he became abusive...and delusional.
Avatar n tn I came home that day washed very well and started drinking a lot of fluids. I ended up starting to take antibiotics as well. I had a prescription for Levaquin 500 mg pills. I have 20 days worth. Will that kill anything that I could have contracted?
Avatar n tn I've been on 500mg. of Levaquin for 4 days and I'm having difficulty breathing. Not all the time at times it's just hard to catch my breath without doing anything too physical. Has anyone else had this side effect?
Avatar m tn Was Levaquin knowing as a cause of Achilles tendon rupture before September/2006?
Avatar f tn My doctor prescribed prednisone, Symbicort, and also wants to give me Levaquin. I am over 55 years old, and I also have pre-diabetes (6.0 A1C - and am on metformin), and high blood pressure being successfully treated via Benicar. Two nurse friends of mine are literally screaming at me to not take the Levaquin due to achilles muscle rupture tendencies (one is suffering personally from it at this time and has been for more than one year now).
867582 tn?1311627397 However, after reading about the many dangerous side effects of Cipro (which is a fluoroquinolone) I will say to everyone here (especially those over 60 and/or those on NSAIDs): Please, have your doctor consider a different antibiotic before using any that are in the fluoroquinolone category!!! Though frequently prescribed, fluoroquinolones (such as Cipro or Levaquin) are extremely dangerous with longlasting disabilities that may result from them.
Avatar m tn Again the symptoms receded but again they returned. This time my doctor prescribed Levaquin (7 days x 500 mg) and 1 shot of Ceftriaxone. I was re-tested for Chlamydia and don't have the results yet. I read scary reports of serious side effects of Levaquin. It's potent but has risks which is why it's given only as a second line of defense. I'm nervous about taking it and I'm wondering if there are effective alternatives to this.
Avatar f tn Hello about 3 months ago I was prescribed Levaquin for an upper respirtory infection. Well I did experience the normal side effects listed online but then started getted ringing in my ears. I only had a few days left of the medication and didn't realize the ringing wouldn't go away since the doctor told me it was due to an ear infection. I have been off balance and have had visual problems and anxiety of not feeling right sometimes through the day.
Avatar f tn My prior medical history is gastroparesis (of unknown etiology) and was just recently treated for a sinus infection with Levaquin 750 mg for 5 days. I was also very nauseous and dizzy today for several hours. Had a vague pain behind my eyes. Any thoughts?
Avatar n tn I do not know whom to believe. I took 7 days of Levaquin and did feel better. Now my liver enzymes are slightly elevated, and I'm not sure if it is the Levaquin, or the bacteria causing the elevation, and is areomonas a pathogen or not?
168348 tn?1379357075 All of the side affects are due to the Levaquin. I would have to have a gun pointed to my head before I took levaquin, and even then I might still refuse. Levaquin is a very "punishing" medication. Levaquin has it's mplace in the physicians armamentarium. For example, if I had bubonic plaque, I might consider levaquin. But they have an EXCELLENT drug marketing program. The symptoms will eventually disappear. Don't change your synthroid dose.
