levaquin nausea

I was prescribed six 500mg Levaquin tablets to treat Strep Throat and a potential sinus infection. I only took 4 of the 6 pills since the side effects were getting to much to handle. I started on 3/12/2010 to 3/15/2010. Here were the side effects: -nausea -no appetite -headaches -dizziness -diarrhea -anxiety attacks -confusion, like you don't feel like yourself After I stopped taking it, my nausea and appetite returned gradually in the following two days.

No fever, swollen nodes as far as I can tell. Do not remember Levaquin causing me nausea when I have taken it before? Do these symptoms sound like possible HIV infection? THREE - for reassurance you said to get tested which I want to do. I am feeling my glands 6 x day, dreding a fever, think the nerve pain is shingles, cant worry anymore. What test do you recommend that at day 17 will tell me if I have HIV. FOUR - Can Levaquin slow symptoms of HIV?

Hi. I have been experiencing some really disturbing set of symptoms. I was a healthy and happy 22 year old and now feel almost crippled. I have peripheral neurpathy, horrible anxiety, deppression, nausea, weight loss. I took Levaquin for a UTI infection in November 2009 and didn't have symptoms then. I also had a susequent yeast infection. Do anybody have any idea what could be causing thIs? Thank you and God Bless.

Good, the nystatin should clear the thrush up. I would also recommend starting on a probiotic to see if that helps any of your symptoms.

has anyone had bad side effects from useing aniniotics such as levaquin? i started haveing severe symptoms a few days after i started takeing them such as sore joints muscle pain dizzyness extreme fatigue an weakness..

Levaquin-Levofloxacin,though it is an antibiotic,has some common adverse effects on CNS as it passes the blood brain barrier.Headache, dizziness, and restlessness are among the commonest effects on the CNS. Others include tremor, drowsiness, insomnia, nightmares, and visual and other sensory disturbances ,tinnitus, Mal de Debarquement Syndrome etc. Generally these reactions subside when the drug is completely metabolized and eliminated from the body. There is nothing much to be worried.

I am very hush hush about the hep c. When I answered that I did not have any liver problems he gave me 5 days worth of Levaquin. I don't know however if I should take it. He told me that levaquin was not the ideal antibiotic to treat the condition however it was all that we had samples of . My nose hurts really bad and I am considering taking the levaquin.

I need help please. My doctors had me on Levaquin for 4 years straight. I believe it's destroyed most of my immune system. Since being off Levaquin for the past few months, I have had chronic bronchitis and pneumonia since. My muscles and body is in agony. I now have to use oxygen all the time, day and night. The recovery times from surgeries are greatly extended now. I'm having another back surgery in a few weeks.

Hi everyone...has anyone ever been on Levaquin (it's in the same class of antibiotics as Cipro)? I was on it for 5 days of my 10 when I started getting some wrist pain and they took me off it. I didn't even know it causes tendon damage. Just wondering if anyone else had those side effects??? I think my mom was on it (IV) but didn't have any side effects. All I can say is if they want to put you on it, ask for something else unless there is no choice! Thanks!

I am a 60 yr old female never really been sick before and I have started having nausea some dieahrea and really bad burning in my chest have also started having really bad anxiety attacks seems to be worse in the mornings went to the DR and was started on levaquin, falgy and a stomach pill they drew some blood work to check for H Pylori results not back yet, even having some burning up in my throat occ, have also been feeling shaky and just feel unwell, just feel like crap!

I have an ear infection needing antibiotics (Levaquin. 500mg). The pharmacist said that these two meds are contraindicated. My cardiologist said to go off of Flecainide for 2 weeks while taking the Levaquin. The bad news is that I am scared to go off on a med that I have been taking for a long time. The good news is that I will find out if the meds are causing my daily symptoms of nausea, extreme fatigue, sleepiness and I don't need anti arrhythmic agents for A-Fib.

m slowly testing different foods to see what the reaction is - I never had any food allergies prior to Levaquin. It could just be coincidental timing or a combination of symptoms from Levaquin that just happen to end around the time I try something different, but it's definitely been a long ride. This has changed my life. 3 years will have gone by this August 2013 - that's how long its taken to get me this far.

No change in bowel or bladder except he recently has been on levaquin for second episode of prostatitis (first episode 20 years ago). Any ideas about what is going on? thanks so much.

My husband was diagnosed with Bacterial Pneumonia and was prescribed Levaquin. He has been off the medication for about a week and a half and he is still experiencing phobic attacks in the morning. He wakes up in a panic and believes that he cannot breath. While he was taking the drug he experienced major confusion, anxiety, depression and dizziness. It was awful! He even experienced a very bad episode when he became abusive...and delusional.

Here is what I said: Normally I have no digestive problems. Monday night I woke up with sharp cramps. Tuesday things only got worse. I ended up in ER with all the usual treatments. They did a CT scan and said I had diverticulitis. What a nasty little surprise.

I came home that day washed very well and started drinking a lot of fluids. I ended up starting to take antibiotics as well. I had a prescription for Levaquin 500 mg pills. I have 20 days worth. Will that kill anything that I could have contracted?

Apparently there is something going on with my colon but no one can seem to agree to anything. They put me on Flagyl, Levaquin, Phenghan, Percocet, along with other things. I am almost constantly in pain and stay neauseated. As of now the blood is gone. After I eat I am in the restroom within 20 to 30 minutes with diarreah and in severe pain. Any ideas? Please help!

Was Levaquin knowing as a cause of Achilles tendon rupture before September/2006?

My doctor prescribed prednisone, Symbicort, and also wants to give me Levaquin. I am over 55 years old, and I also have pre-diabetes (6.0 A1C - and am on metformin), and high blood pressure being successfully treated via Benicar. Two nurse friends of mine are literally screaming at me to not take the Levaquin due to achilles muscle rupture tendencies (one is suffering personally from it at this time and has been for more than one year now).

Again the symptoms receded but again they returned. This time my doctor prescribed Levaquin (7 days x 500 mg) and 1 shot of Ceftriaxone. I was re-tested for Chlamydia and don't have the results yet. I read scary reports of serious side effects of Levaquin. It's potent but has risks which is why it's given only as a second line of defense. I'm nervous about taking it and I'm wondering if there are effective alternatives to this.

Hello about 3 months ago I was prescribed Levaquin for an upper respirtory infection. Well I did experience the normal side effects listed online but then started getted ringing in my ears. I only had a few days left of the medication and didn't realize the ringing wouldn't go away since the doctor told me it was due to an ear infection. I have been off balance and have had visual problems and anxiety of not feeling right sometimes through the day.

My prior medical history is gastroparesis (of unknown etiology) and was just recently treated for a sinus infection with Levaquin 750 mg for 5 days. I was also very nauseous and dizzy today for several hours. Had a vague pain behind my eyes. Any thoughts?
