I developed it all of a sudden and now its really bad in both wrists. Had injection for left hand and go back for the right in 2 weeks (i am right handed). I don't understand why I have it. I have been waking at night over past couple years with painful elbows, but nothing during day. I'm wondering if I have something else going on, or could this be related to chiari somehow?
has anyone had bad side effects from useing aniniotics such as levaquin? i started haveing severe symptoms a few days after i started takeing them such as sore joints muscle pain dizzyness extreme fatigue an weakness..
I need help please. My doctors had me on Levaquin for 4 years straight. I believe it's destroyed most of my immune system. Since being off Levaquin for the past few months, I have had chronic bronchitis and pneumonia since. My muscles and body is in agony. I now have to use oxygen all the time, day and night. The recovery times from surgeries are greatly extended now. I'm having another back surgery in a few weeks.
I am pretty sure I just have a UTI but if for whatever I have an STD will the Levaquin that I am taking for my UTI cure chlamydia or gonorhea? I am taking 500mg for 6 days. Please help me.

Hi everyone...has anyone ever been on Levaquin (it's in the same class of antibiotics as Cipro)? I was on it for 5 days of my 10 when I started getting some wrist pain and they took me off it. I didn't even know it causes tendon damage.
Just wondering if anyone else had those side effects???
I think my mom was on it (IV) but didn't have any side effects. All I can say is if they want to put you on it, ask for something else unless there is no choice! Thanks!

Levaquin made me very ill. I have lupus & was given Levaquin for a sinus infection. Big no no. Levaquin can & will give you autoimmune disease symptoms and I already had one. Trust me it is not worth it. After 6 pills my calf muscles began to cramp. Dr. says ibuprofen 600mg a day.. Well its been all downhill from there. I developed full body tendinitis,(couldn't walk) my joints & muscles swelled so bad my nerves were compressed.
No change in bowel or bladder except he recently has been on levaquin for second episode of prostatitis (first episode 20 years ago).
Any ideas about what is going on?

My husband was diagnosed with Bacterial Pneumonia and was prescribed Levaquin. He has been off the medication for about a week and a half and he is still experiencing phobic attacks in the morning. He wakes up in a panic and believes that he cannot breath. While he was taking the drug he experienced major confusion, anxiety, depression and dizziness. It was awful! He even experienced a very bad episode when he became abusive...and delusional.
I came home that day washed very well and started drinking a lot of fluids. I ended up starting to take antibiotics as well. I had a prescription for Levaquin 500 mg pills. I have 20 days worth. Will that kill anything that I could have contracted?
I've been on 500mg. of Levaquin for 4 days and I'm having difficulty breathing. Not all the time at times it's just hard to catch my breath without doing anything too physical. Has anyone else had this side effect?
My doctor prescribed prednisone, Symbicort, and also wants to give me Levaquin. I am over 55 years old, and I also have pre-diabetes (6.0 A1C - and am on metformin), and high blood pressure being successfully treated via Benicar. Two nurse friends of mine are literally screaming at me to not take the Levaquin due to achilles muscle rupture tendencies (one is suffering personally from it at this time and has been for more than one year now).
I went back on Keflex (I took it as a preventative measure for two weeks after surgery) as well as Levaquin. They still did not heal. Eventually my surgeon did a debridement and stiched things back up. The stiches were kept in for two weeks. The stiches are now out, everything is well healed but I am still on Levaquin for at least the next few days. What is odd is that the cultures from the debridement came back with nothing. Nothing grew at all.
I have been diagnosed with prostatitis around 3 weeks ago. I had beed on levaquin for 10 days and several rocephine 1g injection. After 3 weeks of treatment my urologist told me that the infection is gone. Had a urine culture that shows no infection. I dont have any prostatitis symptoms except for the pressure feeling in my rectum.especially when i sit down for a long time.
Again the symptoms receded but again they returned. This time my doctor prescribed Levaquin (7 days x 500 mg) and 1 shot of Ceftriaxone. I was re-tested for Chlamydia and don't have the results yet.
I read scary reports of serious side effects of Levaquin. It's potent but has risks which is why it's given only as a second line of defense. I'm nervous about taking it and I'm wondering if there are effective alternatives to this.

Hello about 3 months ago I was prescribed Levaquin for an upper respirtory infection. Well I did experience the normal side effects listed online but then started getted ringing in my ears. I only had a few days left of the medication and didn't realize the ringing wouldn't go away since the doctor told me it was due to an ear infection.
I have been off balance and have had visual problems and anxiety of not feeling right sometimes through the day.
My prior medical history is gastroparesis (of unknown etiology) and was just recently treated for a sinus infection with Levaquin 750 mg for 5 days. I was also very nauseous and dizzy today for several hours. Had a vague pain behind my eyes. Any thoughts?
I do not know whom to believe. I took 7 days of Levaquin and did feel better. Now my liver enzymes are slightly elevated, and I'm not sure if it is the Levaquin, or the bacteria causing the elevation, and is areomonas a pathogen or not?
Five months ago I had taken Levaquin. The doctor gave it to me for bronchitis. After a couple of days I started feeling pain in my upper chest, shoulder, down my right arm and right underarm. The pain feels like a needle is jabbing me. Sometimes the pain will go away and somtimes it is very bad and lasts for weeks at a time. I also have some musle pain in these areas. I was given Levaquin 750mg qd for 5 days. I am almost 67 years old. Soon after the Levaquin, I developed Neuroathy in both of my feet. My neurologist was surprised, and ordered all types of diagnostic lab work to seek an answer. All labs were either wnl or negative. Do you have any suggestioons for treatment or an answer to how long this will continue to occur.

Hi. I have been experiencing some really disturbing set of symptoms. I was a healthy and happy 22 year old and now feel almost crippled. I have peripheral neurpathy, horrible anxiety, deppression, nausea, weight loss. I took Levaquin for a UTI infection in November 2009 and didn't have symptoms then. I also had a susequent yeast infection. Do anybody have any idea what could be causing thIs? Thank you and God Bless.
